Here’s my honest thoughts on each performance for position evaluation on Produce X 101 (episode 6 and 7).

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - To My Youth Performance

Kim Min Kyu was really good. After his last performance I was doubting his ability to perform, but he redeemed himself in this one. The vocalists in this performance were great, they had good harmonies. Kim Woo Seok shined and I’m glad he got 1st place. I rate this performance a 9/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Believer Performance 

The choreography was amazing, I’m really glad how this team worked on this dance. The part when they threw Dong Pyo and the choreography after that was amazing! I have to say Hwang Yun Seong was really good, I’m glad he got first place in this group. I give this performance an overall 10/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Turtle Ship Performance

Lee Jin Hyuk wasn’t the leader but he led everyone. He choreographed the dance and wrote the rap lyrics. Honestly this guy led the entire group and did practically everything himself. This just proved how amazing he is. I think this performance was good. I felt some of the guys’ rapping didn’t have a good flow. But Jin Hyuk was amazing and Peak was good too. I was very happy to see Jin Hyuk got first in this group and in the overall X division. Overall I give this performance a 7/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Day by Day Performance 

I was very glad Nam Dong Hyun kept his guitar and used it. Also I’m glad he got some screen time too (since they hardly show him). I think he did a great job arranging the song, this guy is just great and super talented. Everyone in this group was good too. Yu Vin, once again shows he’s a great vocalist along with Choi Su Hwan. I was surprised to see Su Hwan got 5th place and Dong Hyun got 4th!? I think they should’ve been ranked higher. I give this performance a 10/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Barcode Performance 

From the beginning I knew Won Hyuk should’ve been center. I won’t talk about the mess ups the other members had. I’ll just say this performance proved Won Hyuk is really good and he should’ve been center. Good thing the voters noticed and he got first place, not only in this performance but in the overall rap division. I’d give this performance a 7/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Swalla Performance

Even though the dance abilities in this team varied, I’m glad they adjusted the choreography for everyone in the group. Even the guys that aren’t that advanced they blended well with the other guys and the overall performance looked good. I think the simple movements were actually the most powerful. Park Yun Sol was absolutely amazing. Kang Hyeon Su got first place, even though he was great too, I think Yun Sol should’ve gotten first place. I’d give this performance an 8/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Attention Performance 

I never paid much attention (pun not intended) to Mahiro, but this performance really showed how much he has improved. I think this concept really suited him well. At first I thought Tony would’ve been a better center but I’m glad Mahiro was given that position. It was a risk to tackle vocal AND dance, but all the guys were fantastic. I really liked the choreography and the song arrangement. I think Mahiro deserved first place in this group. I give this performance a 10/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Me After You Performance 

This group had some powerhouse vocalists. Props to Han Seung Woo for being the leader and the center (even when he didn’t want to be the center). Usually ballad songs get overshadowed by the fun pop songs, but this performance really stood out to me. I can listen to this all day. Plus the harmonies in this song were perfect. Just everything was great. I give it a solid 10/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Twit Performance 

Another one of my fav songs is performed on this show. I was a bit nervous how this group would arrange Twit. But honestly it was AMAZING! I loved every bit of it. It looked like the guys had a good bond during rehearsals and it showed on stage. All of the guys in this group were perfect. I give this performance a 10/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Finesse 

The choreography was good but towards the middle of the song (during the breakdown) to the end, the choreography became outstanding. Sadly, I wish they would’ve been styled with a bit more color, since this song is really colorful. Song Hyeong Jun was fantastic along with Lee Han Gyul and honestly all the guys in this group. A lot of my favs are here and I’m really happy with this performance. I’d give it a 9/10.

Thoughts: Produce X 101 - Yes or No Performance

I’m a huge Zico fan, so my expectations for this song/group was pretty high. Two members were comfortable rapping while the other two were not. But overall the performance was great. All the members sounded like rappers. They had a good flow. Nam Do Hyun was great, he really carried the song. I give this performance a 9/10.

One thing I love about BTS is the little hidden meanings and messages they put in each of their songs. Map of the Soul: Persona has a lot of those messages and metaphors.

Mino Fear

Mino and Taeyang collaborating for “Fear” was incredible. Mino’s rapping and Taeyang’s voice worked so well. Also I love seeing artists from the same company work together. I wish more YG artists would collab (kinda like MOBB).
