why dont we see many 7-8 years old ballerinas in yagp? I mean, in ygp europe we get to see them frequently, specially 8yo, but in america i dont remember seeing any, other that alice reis which competed in boston at eight i think. funny thing too, was that same alice was at yagp finals two years in a row laveled to be nine years old becase she was eight in 2024.

Its because the division starts at 9yo. So I think most people are just following the rules. Anyone else had to get special.permission or yagp is being very lenient.

Margaux de Allen and rudie bolton . You probably know Margaux or remember her as a slayer jazz baby now ballerina. And rudie is consistent top 5 female od at nycda across 3 divisions. They will be attending abt jko school in the fall.

CJ got too drunk at tda and made some questionable decisions. Larkin staff had to make the hard but necessary decision to remove her from faculty. As of now kids can still get solos from her but she likely won’t do many besides her favs like Claire Kelsie etc because most parents have bad feelings abt her now, as well if they want choreo by her it won’t be done at Larkin.

Is there a culture in the ballet/yagp world where kids will competition hop the same way that kids convention hop specifically with btf conventions like jump, nuvo etc.?

Yeah, before 2020 ( at least thats the last time I remember) usually kids would wait and work on their pieces until the local date to go to yagp/ubc/adcicb but as cross training gets more popular ofc the cultures mix. Especially in the younger divisions, some pre comp are now doing yagp 3-4 regionals. Even studios are starting to regional hop. Mba was really the only studio pre covid that I remember regional hopping and ofc the few comp kids competing at the time. But its still not as bad as btf still. Even though there were a few minis who did 10+ regionals.

Not me thinking if Miko really paid that much for her tutus, no wonder she had to leave dance and become a doctor. She had tutu debt to pay off!

And yes, I inflated the number because it was in yen. But yeah, these things aren't cheap at all is really. But they are so beautiful and so incredibly worth it. So yeah I apologize.

where are you getting these numbers? miko said that most of her tutus cost 2,000 and most japanese custom tutus go for around 130,000 yen or closer to 1,000

Oh god I hate looking uniformed and such. I read it on an article when crystal wore the tutu. I swear I did.i cant find it now
