I wanted to talk about the new merch we're getting for RGU and the meanings I can take away from it.

All of the merch is chibis of the duelists in cages with roses matching their assigned color

Utena is holding a key with a teapot, in reference to her and Anthys conversation with the poisoned tea.

Well- lesbian Pauling more really really implied in the current media. But the TF2 writer Jay Pinkerton confirmed it in 2015.

It was one of the few things Syril did right in the show. I felt his anger for Dedra because he was right to be mad at her. I kinda wish he’d lived and defected to the rebel side cause that would’ve been a really cool character development to see

Still thinking about a post I saw that said Syril choking Dedra on Ghorman was disgusting and wrong and perpetuated misogynistic violence and shouldn’t have been in the scene.

Like, sure girl, Dedra’s currently standing in a room overseeing a violent massacre and attempted genocide that she knowingly helped orchestrate, but you’re right physical violence is a step too far.

Like, damn, if I was Syril I would have finished the job. Not to brag, but I’m built different. Bitch woulda dieeeed.

Although Utena is the character most people think of as being trans-coded I honestly see myself more in Anthy in terms of my own transition. The idea of being so afraid of what will happen to you if you’re freed that you never consider living without pain is one that really resonates with me in terms of my transition. I was so afraid of how my world would change if I transitioned that I thought it’d be easier to stay the way I was, even though my dysphoria was ruining my life. And, also like Anthy, the thing that convinced me to grasp onto freedom was the support of my friends.

I fucking love robot characters in literally any sci-fi media and this little man is no exception. I think he would get along well with BD-1, who is my other favourite droid.
