he’s been there for a few hours now, working on choreography – he feels like he’s been practicing nonstop, with the mgas and then thinking about busking, and even so he’s still going and going and going … the woes of being a perfectionist – and he’s always been so terrible with checking his phone that he’s probably missed all the texts from yugyeom letting him know he was getting a visitor. especially when he’s in the zone, practicing for the upcoming performance.

he’s probably one of the only millennials that prefer phone calls over texts, if only for the fact that half the time he gets texts, he has no idea where his phone is. 

the knock on the door surprises him, and most of the time he wouldn’t even hear it if his music was going. it just so happens that it comes during a break, as he’s pacing the room with a bottle of water in hand, catching his breath. he’s been running through all the kpop dances he knows, wanting to make sure he hadn’t forgotten a single one of them, and if he had, then he’s practicing and relearning whichever ones he’s forgotten. thank goodness for his high stamina. 

moving to open the door, hyunggu is rather curious to who it is. all the dynamite members, including jaehee, have the code and he hadn’t ordered food, so he’s unsure of who’s there. he feels a bit bad at how disheveled he looks too, having been dancing for the better part of the last few hours. he’s sweaty and his cheeks are flushed, in a baggy t-shirt and sweats but he doesn’t have time to do much aside from swipe a towel over his face. once the door is open though, he’s even more surprised than he had been initially. “elly?” he greets, amused that of all people it was her there. his hand immediately flies to his hair when it’s mentioned and he grins, ushering her inside and bringing a finger up to his lips. “don’t tell anyone~ it’s supposed to be a secret!”

       there is still obvious surprise written across her expression as she is ushered inside, stepping into the familiar studio wihout taking her eyes off of the older. though, of course she is surprised as hyunggu oppa has been blond for nearly as long as she has. as long as she can recall, that is, and there--of course--remains the small detail that she had gone blonde partly because of him. it is this tidbit of memory that has her pout forming all over again. her arms raise to cross over her chest as she gazes at him, the initial reason for having come left her mind as she has something new to focus on. 

        one hand shifting to toy with the end of her own blonde dyed locks. she’d curled them today in loose, bouncy curls, as she hadn’t planned to practice any so she wanted to dress up a little more than usual. that has nothing to do with her plan to come see hyunggu, nope. “aw...” she starts, looking from her hair to his. “we don’t match anymore.” she says quietly, her pout only deepening at this realization. something about not matching with him felt weird--not that it had ever been their thing though she had once nearly died when yugyeom insinuated it was a couple thing. she had been grateful hyunggu wasn’t close enough to hear that. 

       she swears she isn’t being obvious with this crush but everyone around her seems to know. it makes her worry something that he knows as well. but how could he... 

       “though.... it does look good!” she’s quick to follow up, despite her being a little sad they don’t match in hair color anymore, she does like the red on him. “i don’t think i’ve ever seen you be red before, it’s very bright! but it’s pretty. what made you go red?” she’s having one of those rare moments where she is able to talk at hyunggu without melting. thats bound to change should he respond. but who knows, maybe she’s moving past the shy elly who use to actively avoid making eye contact with him and never stayed for photos during busking.

+familiar bud

      diligent hands works carefully to remove the thorns from the batch of white roses that she’d been working on for a vase. the vase was sat on the other side with a few of the roses already sitting in side of it, but she had changed her tactic to working on trimming all the flowers before putting them in. hopefully helping her arrange the vase a touch quicker than normal. it’s as she’s working that she hears the bell chime and her head raises to see who had entered. 

       “ah~ lily. i was wondering if you would be by today.” she greets the younger girl with a soft smile. setting the rose down carefully so she could move around the counter. her hands wiped on the apron and then arms held wide so she could pull the younger in a hug. she has always been a tactile girl, always the first to go for a hug, or to cling onto someone’s arm when the chance presents itself. as long as who ever is on the other end doesn’t mind getting glomped every now and again. and most of her friends are use to her by now.

      “have you come for some flowers? or just to see me?” she teases softly, voice and expression nothing by kind and and fond for the girl who had become quiet the regular to their little shop. she knows her grandmother just adores all the regulars they have gained thanks to them befriending elly and then loves that elly is getting these friendships.

       “--and i couldn’t believe i had said that! it was so embarrassing.” elly finished and buried her face into her hands again as soft laughter rippled from her lips. she had been going on about a story that had happened to her a few days ago. something about how she had ended up making a fool of herself ( again ) in front of he boy she’s been crushing on for a few years now. said boy who it’s very obvious she’s crushing on but always refuses to tell anyone his name. despite the fact he’s her background right now. a photo of her and kang hyunggu from when she worked up the nerve to ask him for one. 

           they were currently in her room as dinner was being finished, her grandmother more than happy to make one more plate as they always had enjoyed having doyeon over. really, any of elly’s friends as she tends to be rather shy when it comes to making them. “he’s already seen me walk into a door and the time i spilled a bubble tea all over myself--unnie what if he thinks i’m just a mess!” she lowers her hands to deliver a pout onto the older girl. poor doyeon having been one to hear about most of these other incidents over the years. elly choosing to tell her favorite unnie these embarrassments in hope the girl would take pity on her.

            or at least to avoid any one picking fun at her. she knows a few friends of her who would probably just poke fun and she doesn’t want to be embarrassed anymore over the situations. plus, with doyeon she has the perfect way to divert the conversation should she need to. after all, her precious unnie was a big time star these days and it’s all kinds of important that she learn everything she can from the older.

+unmatched match

       there is already a pout resting on her lips as she made her way to the studio. a familiar path from the times she had come with yugyeom oppa for practice (the older dancer never quiet getting off his agenda to get her to join his little group). a short and quick message to said guy had let her know who she was looking for would be at the studio right now. she was trusting him to not be lying, which she knows was a toss up. perhaps she should have messaged hyunggu before going through with this but shes already at the studio, her fist raised to knock on the door.

       and she does knock. three steady, firm knocks. and it’s only after she has knocked that elly realizes just who she was approaching. just who would be on the other side of the door. she hadn’t thought this plan all the way through she hadn’t even considered it past a quick this has to happen because sometimes elly moves before she thinks and it’s a habit she has been trying to curb for a long while.

       she hadn’t even thought about how she was about to speaking with kang hyunggu who she has been virtually unable to hold a conversation with since she started stanning him. read; stanning, not being a friend of. she’s a friend of yugyeom, she’s a fan of hyunggu. sigh. ( but she wants to be a friend of his... ) and then the door was opened and she’s even more surprised by what she sees on the other side.  

               “oppa! you changed your hair!”

+ surprised?

        it’s a rainy day and that often means the general population is going to avoid being outdoors as much as they can. the same can not be said for miss elly who has found herself walking down the sidewalk under her gentleman ryan umbrella held over her hair in an attempt to keep herself dry. her mother had been against her going out today but her plans had already been in motion and she had no wish to change them. she walks with a smile on her lips, and an almost skip to her step that i only stopped as she ducks under the canopy of a shop to pull out her phone.

       as she sends her messages elly wonders if maybe she should have planned this a touch better. she probably should have contacted hyojeong before throwing these plans onto the younger girl without asking her before hand. but elly has always been a rather go with the flow kind of gal and she figures, if hyojeong can’t meet right now then she would just have to swing by another day.

     “ oppa. why are you here again?” elly questioned while trying to hold back the distaste in her voice, arms crossed over her chest and gaze sharp on the other in the room. unlike with most customers who come in and she would move forward to greet this, this male does not get the same treatment. she stays fixed behind the counter holding the register, as if wishing to keep the distance between them and given their past, perhaps she is. “if you’re not here to buy something then please leave. i have other customers to attend to.”  

      though she says this there are no other people inside the flower shop currently. just elly, and bin. and she really wishes it wouldn’t include that second name. see, it may have been years since the incident when they first met. but he has yet to apologize to her about it. and yes, maybe it is silly of it her old fast to this grudge--but he deserves it! she will stay firm to that! until he apologizes, she isn’t going to let it go.

hello hello im super excited to be here with miss elly. and im blown away at the welcome i’ve gotten, its really made this all the more exciting! im working on following everyone but i wanted to get this out first ~~ i think intros normally include stuff about the muse and also double as a plot call? give this a LIKE if you would like to plot! i dont have twitter but i do have discord ( im so picky#4401 ) which i can be reached at 60% of the time hehe otherwise ~ im me here for plotting c: now onto miss elly

she’s jung haerim but she prefers to go by elly. was born and raised in LA most her life but ended up in seoul as an sm trainee for a few years before her contract was dropped. now she’s an SNU student, and works in her grandparents flower shop ~ 

looking for friends, enemies, maybe even past coworkers from when she bounced around on a rebellious streak of refusing to work with family. speaking of i would also love cousins! classmates! hanlim alumni who she might have gone to school with ~
