you were always particularly self aware of you, and the way you carried yourself. you were trained to be; a saddened look must still be graceful, but you can never quite get that distance out of your eyes. today, the rain pattered against the glass of a window, a coffee shop of sorts that did not exist during the time you are from. so modern .. modern, or to you, futuristic. you're getting well used to it; but no matter what window the rain is splattered against, it always ... gets to your head. the fog against the window reflecting your fragile glass mind. your pristine, gentle mask adjusts slightly, you are just the bit ( a bit that matters deeply, ) more sad than usual. how your mother loved the rain. a silent passes. then a voice. you adjust your eyes to the stranger across from you. you are so shocked, so amazed that you had not noticed the chair shift backwards, where the stranger now sat -- it is almost enough to drag you out of your trance. but the words that follow gently place you back into it, as fast as you were distracted. " the look on my face? " you bring fingers to your mouth, a practiced smile where your visage lie. " what is it that they say? eyes are the way to the soul ... is it false to assume that everyone's eyes are a little dull on such dreary days? "
