            For Namor, one of the strangest things about being on the surface world was the food. It changed so much so often. When Namor had spent time among the humans during the war, much of their food had been boiled and tasteless. Betty had told Namor it was temporary, a consequence of war rationing, but Namor had not believed her. He’d been more than relieved to sink back under the waves and feast once more on hearty fish, delicious seaweed, roast squid.

            It was to be a failed venture. There was no doubt about that. Even as Namor swam up to the surface with his battalion behind him, he knew that there would be no desirable outcome achieved that night. Not only because neither side would give in to the other’s demands, but because Namor simply did not want a desirable outcome.

            Namor knew exactly what he wanted. And he knew how to get it.
