UNFORGETTABLE - PART 4
Chapter 3
Hogwarts express - 12:34pm
Elle was happy.
She was back with her friends.
But the thought of her father and brother associating with he who must not be named, sent shivers down her spine.
It caused the hairs on her arm to rise.
It left her with an uneasy feeling in her lower belly.
She didn’t want to believe it. How could she?.
Theodore was her twin bother. He told her everything.
Her father on the other hand, told her nothing. He may not have been the nicest of men, but working for the dark lord wasn’t a possibility. Surely.
Deep in thought, she almost missed the small tap on the door of the compartment.
Looking towards the sliding door, she met eyes with the kind, old trolley lady.
Giving her a warm smile, she reached into her bag for her purse.
After collecting a few coins, she proceeded to make her request.
“Please may I have, 2 liquorice wands, a chocolate frog and some fizzing whizzbees?’ She spoke gently to the old witch.
The old woman turned to her with a smile on her face, presenting her with her treats.
“There you go dear, that will be 2 galleons” she hummed towards Elle.
Elle swiftly handed her the coins, muttered a quick ‘thank you’ and retreated back into her compartment, but not without the older witch making a comment.
“Such lovely manners, just like your mother’ the witch looked to her with a smile.
Elle couldn’t help but feel a tad of guilt as the older witch spoke.
Looking down onto her lap, she could feel the tears well in her eyes.
Careful to not alert the others, Elle shifted her gaze and proceeded to look out of the window.
Watching the green fields pass her by.
Trying to rid herself of her thoughts.
Anything concerning Elle’s mother was a soft spot.
Despite the older witch giving her a compliment, even likening her to her mother caused her pain.
Though she died 14 years ago, the wound was still fairly fresh.
Theodore had never felt like this.
Elle had asked him many times how he felt about mother.
He never really had a proper answer. Stating he didn’t even know her, so he couldn’t really be sad.
That was the one thing about Theo that really pissed Elle off.
The only thing about him that really made her tick.
The fact that he was never truly open with his emotions.
I guess that was the Slytherin within him.
After glancing out of the window for a reasonable amount of time, Elle glanced back towards her group.
Ron and Hermione were arguing over something mundane - as usual.
Harry though, seemed to be in a daydream.
Pulling him from his thoughts Elle spoke “Something on your mind H ?”
He looked towards her with a sheepish smile , “Everything’s great, do you have something on your mind?” “No, not really, just thought you looked like you were deep in thought” she uttered.
He just smiled towards her while shaking his head.
Elle and Harry always had a special relationship. Despite, Elles father being alive, she considered herself to be an orphan.
One of her parents may have been dead, but the other blatantly pretended that she didn’t exist.
Elle was an orphan.
Harry may not have had the best upbringing but at least the Dursley’s acknowledged his presence.
Something Elle used to long for from her father. Just a little bit of recognition.
When she first learned to fly a broom, she expected her father to be happy for her - he was a keen quidditch player in his day.
Instead he congratulated Theo with a bone-crushing hug, while only giving a weak smile to Elle.
By the age of 8 Elle knew not to expect anything from her father.
Even on the twins birthday, Theo would get more praise, more appreciation, more LOVE.
That was something that Harry and Elle could relate on, they never received love from their families.
When Elle met Harry back in first year, they knew they were going to be two peas in a pod.
From sharing answers in potions class, to defending each other from Malfoy and his gang of gits, they knew that they were destined to be friends.
Now four years later, that statement remained true. Despite Harry endangering their lives each year, Elle had grown to love the specky boy. He had always been true friend. He had never lied to her.
She hoped the same could be said for her brother. In a moment of madness Elle decided to question him. She couldn’t wait till they got to Hogwarts. She had to know now.
In a quick movement, Elle rose to her feet.
All three of her friends, quickly planted their gazes on her questioningly.
“Elle, where are you going?’ Hermione asked her kindly. Ron just stared, while forcing yet another chocolate frog past his lips.
“…Oh I have to speak to Theo about something, I think I put something in his trunk by accident’ she stuttered quickly. Harry narrowed his eyes at her suspiciously.
Elle was acting differently. He just knew it.
She hurriedly slid open the door and closed straight behind her.
She could see the trio looking at her cautiously but she didn’t care.
Briskly walking up the train corridor, narrowly missing people - the first years were acting crazy.
High on sugar, Elle presumed.
Approaching the Slytherin carriage, Elle placed her hand on the handle.
As she began to twist the handle, it wouldn’t budge.
She tried again.
She began to get flustered as she could see her peers around her, giving her strange looks.
As she was about to give up and go back to the trio, she heard a low silky voice mutter
“Do you need some help with that?’
As she turned around to see who owned the beautiful voice, she came face to face with the school heartthrob.
Cedric bloody Diggory.
Giving her a warm smile, he reached down to the handle, gave it a quick twist, and it opened straight away.
“Those Slytherins eh? They will do anything to keep people out of their compartment, including putting a charm on the door” he whispered with a smirk.
Elle giggled nervously.
Cedric looked down on her with a kind smile, “I’m Cedric”.
He stuck his hand out for her to shake, as a kind gesture.
Elle was staring at him.
She couldn’t help it. His smile could make butter melt.
He was beautiful.
Entranced by his beauty, Elle was still staring.
Cedric waved his hand across her face “Hello, is anyone home” he laughed.
Elle again laughed nervously.
“i’m Elle” she stuttered.
He chuckled “Well Elle, I guess I’ll be seeing your around then”
She giggled again.
‘What is wrong with you’ she scolded herself.
“I’ll make sure of it” he finished.
He gave her one last smile and then retreated to his compartment.
Turning back to face the Slytherin compartment, Elle took a deep breath and made her way inside.
She was immediately greeted with glares.
Glares of those who were angry that someone managed to open the door.
Glares because she was a Gryffindor.
Spotting Theo she mad her way up the corridor.
She was immediately bombarded with ‘hello’s’ from Pansy and Daphne.
After saying a quick hello, she turned to Theo.
“Theo” she spoke, “Can I talk to you”.
Glancing up at his sister, Theo went to stand up.
Malfoy placed a hand on his shoulder.
“He doesn’t want to talk to you blood traitor”. He hissed
Theo gave Malfoy a quick glance and forcefully removed his hand from his shoulder.
“Stop calling her a blood traitor you dick, she’s my sister, if she wants to talk, we’ll talk. It’s not like I need to ask you for permission” Theo muttered.
Malfoy just glared at them both.
Pulling Elle aside Theo began “What do you need to talk about? It must be quite severe considering you would never set foot in this carriage otherwise” he gave her a concerned look.
“ I just need to ask you something, I don’t believe it, but I just had to be sure” she whispered.
He looked towards her, the concern visible on his face.
“Did you have anything to do with what happened at the quidditch world cup?”. She muttered.
Theo couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His own sister questioning him.
“No? What are you talking about?” He quickly responded.
Elle looked at him questioningly, ‘it’s just that Malfoy said…” she went on.
“Malfoy?” He stated. “When did Malfoy talk to you?” He whispered angrily.
“Just before I got on the train, he was antagonising me, so I insulted him, but he said that you were involved” she whispered back.
“Don’t listen to anything that dick has to say about me. He loves spreading rumours. He lives for it. Almost more than Pansy. Just know that whatever he says about me isn’t true. Okay?” He gave her a soft smile.
“Just try to keep your distance from him Elle.” he continued “he isn’t a good bloke, and I don’t want him picking on you because of your friends”. Said Theo, acting like a concerned big brother.
“Don’t worry T, being within breathing distance of that prick is even too much to handle, you don’t need to fret`’ Elle giggled.
Theo let out a chuckle.
He pulled her in for a quick hug and muttered “Is there anything else you want to talk about?” He glanced down at her.
She simply shook her head and they parted ways.
“See you later” Elle muttered.
Theo gave her a quick wave and she made her way back the other side of the carriage.
Before she could even reach the handle, she heard a shrill voice squeak.
“ Ellllllllllllllllllllllle!!!!!!!! Don’t leave yet we have so much to catch up on, I haven’t seen you ALL summer” Pansy was waving her back over the the compartment, with a huge smile plastered on her face.
“Let her go, her presence alone makes me ill. I will never know why you would want to associate with a blood traitor like that” she heard a voice say angrily.
It was Malfoy.
She then heard a loud slapping noise, as Malfoy yelped “You dick, what was that for?”.
“You insult my sister, You’re going to get a slap” she heard Theo boldly announce.
“Drakey, I like Elle, she’s sweet” spoke pansy sweetly.
Elle thought to herself. ‘Drakey’. Gross. She would never fully understand how someone could be so in love with someone like Draco Malfoy.
Of course Pansy wasn’t the nicest of girls but surely she had standards.
But then again, the boy was a billionaire. And pansy was a gold-digger.
She understood now.
Ignoring pansy, she turned back to the door handle, twisting it abruptly and made her way back towards her compartment.
Upon arriving, she noticed the trio were in their uniform.
They must be approaching Hogwarts soon, she thought to herself.
Sliding open the door, she was met with a handful of hellos, as she entered the compartment.
Reaching up to her bag, she pulled put her robes.
“How did everything go with Theo? Did you get what you were looking for” she questioned.
“Yes. Everything’s fine” she stated.
Hermione stared at her.
“…and I remembered that I left that thing I was looking for in my room at home” she stuttered.
“Oh how suspicious, what was ‘that thing you were looking for’ exactly?” Ron questioned, with a brow raised.
Without missing a beat Elle replied “Tampons”.
Ron gulped nervously. Harry looked at Elle awkwardly, not wanting anymore information.
Hermione let out a giggle but stifled it with the back of her hand.
‘You see, I’ve been having a really heavy flow lately and I needed to make sure I had my tampons” Elle continued, knowingly making the boys uncomfortable.
Harry proceeded to stand up and leave the compartment.
Ron shoved his fingers in his ears and screamed “…IF I CANT HEAR YOU, YOUR NOT SPEAKING”
Elle giggled to herself with Hermione cackling beside her. Ron still screaming.
Realising the time, Elle pulled herself out of laughter and made her way towards the bathroom.
As she went to push open the door, it was pulled open from the inside.
Yet again she found herself face to face with the chocolate orbs of Cedric Diggory.
“Nice to see you again, although I thought it would be happening a lot later”. He smiled.
Elle giggled nervously. Mentally facepalming.
Plucking up some courage Elle stuttered ‘Twice in one day Mr Diggory, I think this is becoming a regular thing”.
‘where did that come from’ she thought to herself.
‘Is that so?’ Smirking at Elle, he moved closer. ‘For my sake, I hope that’s true” He gave her a cheeky wink and then walked away.
Did THE Cedric Diggory just wink at her?
She watched him walk down the carriage.
Smirking to herself, Elle walked into the bathroom.
She looked slowly into the mirror, smiled and muttered.
‘This is going to be a fun year at Hogwarts”.

UNFORGETTABLE - PART 3
CHAPTER 2
Platform Nine and Three Quarters - 10:38 AM
Opening her eyes, Elle was no longer engulfed by vivacious green flames.
Instead she was stood in one of the old, dusty fireplaces within Kings-cross station.
Wiping the soot from her clothes she stepped out of the coal and was met with the hustle and bustle of Platform Nine and Three quarters.
A young boy whizzed past her excitedly with his trolley, eager to embark on his journey to Hogwarts.
Elle found herself smiling, reminiscing when she felt exactly the same, four years ago.
As Elle began to gather her possessions, Theodore appeared next to her.
With both hands, he firmly grasped her shoulders when her back was turned, causing her to let out a shriek.
Embarrassed, Elle grabbed her copy of the Daily Prophet, that she had strapped to the top of her trunk, and began to smack Theo’s upper arm. Causing him to let out a yell of pain - even though he didn’t feel anything.
And according to Theo, Elle was one for the dramatics.
A trait that clearly runs in the family.
Families that surrounded them, turned around to see what had caused the small commotion.
The families looked towards the twins with sorrow In their eyes.
Everyone knew that their father wasn’t a loving man. Everyone also knew that their mother died when they were infants.
It was all over the Daily Prophet - courtesy of Rita Skeeter.
Oh how the twins despised that woman.
Groups of people continued to stare at the twins, noticing that they were alone.
The fact that they were alone, wasn’t a surprise.
As Elle could feel the stares of her peers around her, her cheeks began to flush red. Signalling the fact that she was embarrassed.
Theodore started to laugh, causing Elle to hit him again.
“Will you quit doing that’ he shouted at her.
Elle laughed and continued to hit him.
When Elle eventually stopped abusing her brother, she gathered her belongings and started to make her way towards the train.
While loading her trunk on to the train, two strong hands grabbed her waist.
Reaching for her copy of the Daily Prophet, she turned around and smacked, what she thought was Theo. Only to come face to face with Harry. Harry Potter.
As she thought she had whacked Theo, she really had used her full strength with the rolled up newspaper.
Upon realising she had properly just hit Harry. She immediately began to apologise profusely.
“Oh merlin’s beard Harry, I am so sorry. Theo has been antagonising me since we got here and you see, I hit him with this newspaper, but then he kept doing it, and when you grabbed me I thought it was him and….” She went on. And On and on.
She only stopped apologising when she realised that Harry was smiling at her.
“Elle, you don’t need to apologise” he laughed.
She gave him a sympathetic smile.
He continued “ I came over here to ask about your summer break, but now I think I’m going to ask you to join this years quidditch team’
Elle looked at him with a sudden confusion.
“If you hit a Bludger, just as hard as you’ve just hit me, I’m pretty sure we’d win this year’ he smirked at her.
Elle started to laugh. She had never imagined herself as a quidditch player. It was quite hysterical to even think about. Being 5ft tall and non-athletic, Elle would never even dream of being a Quidditch player, never mind a beater.
It seemed as though Harry had caught on to what she was thinking, as he looked down at her and whispered “ Hey, you never know, you could be the best quidditch player Hogwarts has seen. I mean look at me, I grew up in the muggle world. I hadn’t even ridden a broom and now I’m the schools youngest seeker. Promise me you’ll at least try out’ looking at her with gentle eyes.
‘I’m not promising you anything Potter, but I’ll think about it’. She muttered.
As they continued to chat, Harry helped Elle with her belongings.
While telling her about his summer at the burrow, Elle happened to glance up, towards the crowd of families. Amongst the loud noises and children running frantically. Elle spotted a glimpse of crisp white hair through the crowd, making its way towards the two of them.
‘Here we go’ she thought.
She unloaded the last of her luggage and turned around to come face to face with the person she least wanted to see.
Draco Lucius Malfoy.
The pompous arsehole himself.
Self-acclaimed Slytherin prince. More like Slytherin princess, if you asked Elle.
She glared menacingly at him.
“Can I help you Malfoy’ she uttered, with a less than cheerful tone.
“Are you actually speaking to me?” he sneered.
“Well I mean that is how a conversation usually works, or has daddy not taught you that one yet’ Elle said with a smirk. Harry stifled a small laugh.
“How dare you speak to me, Blood traitor’ he glanced down Elle with an evil look in his eye ‘and as for you Potter’ he continued ‘ you better watch your back, I heard that you were almost killed at the Quidditch world Cup’ he laughed and turned his back.
As he began to turn away Elle shouted “ and who told you that one? Your daddy? I wonder how he knew so much. It’s almost as if he was part of it”. Elle smirked knowingly, whispering the last part slowly.
She hadn’t been at the world cup but she read the news.
She knew about the death-eater attack.
She knew that Draco’s father was a ‘rehabilitated’ member, claiming to be under the imperious curse the whole time.
Elle called Bullshit.
Draco turned back around, face red with anger, seething.
‘You think you’re so smart Nott, you think you know everything? Huh? You think you know everything about that night? You don’t, but then I again I’m sure you could ask your father, he would certainly know a thing or two about that night”. He stated.
Elle gave him a confused look.
Was he trying to insinuate that her father was a death eater?
He wasn’t the nicest man. But a death eater. Surely not.
He narrowed his eyes at Elle in return.
As he began to walk away, he turned and whispered.
“Oh wait, I remember now, your father is embarrassed of you. No wonder you know nothing. I’m sure Theo knows everything. But not you. Your family hates you” He laughed cruelly.
“I mean If I had you for a daughter,I would hate you too.”. He smirked and walked away.
Leaving Elle to question everything including her own twin.
Harry raised his arm to catch Malfoy but Elle grabbed it in her own.
“Let him go, I have had enough of him already and we’re not even at school yet’ she smiled at Harry.
He looked at her with a sympathetic look on his face “If he ever says anything like that to you again, let me know. Not that you can’t handle it yourself, but he’s a right foul git’
‘You’re right about that one’ Elle giggled. “…and I’ll tell you harry, then we can hex him together”
“Sounds like a plan’ he laughed.
As Elle and Harry were talking of the ways they would like to get back at Malfoy, a high pitch shriek took them both by surprise.
“WHERE HAVE YOU TWO BEEN? YOU’RE GOING TO MISS THE TRAIN” the voice screeched.
Upon turning around, they recognised the voice as Hermione. Dragging behind her, eating a chocolate frog, was Ron.
“ I mean she’s not wrong” she said between mouthfuls of chocolate.
“Bloody hell, Dumbledore again. Do they ever change these bloody things” he shouted as he pulled out the wizard card from the packaging.
Elle laughed to herself finally happy to be re-united, with her best friends.
“COME ON, WERE GOING TO MISS THE TRAIN” Hermione shouted again.
“We’re coming Mione” Elle giggled.
Letting out a sigh, Hermione boarded the train by herself.
Ron, Harry and Elle soon followed.
As Elle was about to board, a hand grasped her arm.
It was Theo.
She didn’t know what to feel about him after her confrontation with Malfoy.
She hadn’t really has time to think.
Did he really know something and just wasn’t telling her.
It was an unwritten rule that they told each other everything, they were twins, for Merlins sake.
She would ask him, but not right now.
She gave him a quick smile.
“I’ll see you at school, okay?” He whispered.
In a silent agreement between the two, they nodded their heads and went their separate ways. Elle moving towards the Gryffindor carriages, whereas Theodore went to the Slytherin carriages.
As Elle reached her carriage, she placed her bag into the storage above her and took her seat.
Ron was already eating another chocolate frog, while Harry was telling him of the letters that Sirius wrote him over the summer. Hermione’s nose was buried in a textbook already, while also simultaneously rolling her eyes at everything ‘Ronald’ said.
Everything was right.
Elle was back where she belonged.
She was almost home.

UNFORGETTABLE - PART 2
CHAPTER 1 - NOTT MANOR.
September 1st 1994
Elle gathered the last of her possessions, roughly throwing them into her trunk. Closing the lid, she fell back onto her bed, letting out a sigh of exhaustion.
She lay thinking of the year to come. No doubt something horrific would happen, as it had the previous years.
But she wasn’t concerned.
After a long summer, she was ecstatic about returning to school.
Desperate to see her friends again.
Of course she had visited over the holidays, but it wasn’t the same. At the end of the day, she would have to return to the cold, miserable place, she had to call her home.
Nott Manor.
Theo tried to make this summer more pleasurable for them both, inviting his friends over to keep them company.
Elle appreciated her brother.
But she didn’t appreciate his ‘friends’.
It wasn’t that his friends weren’t accommodating to her.
If anything they were a little too accommodating.
Constantly asking for her opinion on monotonous matters.
Trying to make her feel like she was included.
But she wasn’t included.
She joined in on conversations just to make Theo happy.
Everything Elle did, it was for the sake of Theodore’s happiness.
She really did care for her brother, as did Theo for Elle.
He looked after her.
Unlike her father. Who spent his days avoiding her. Hiding away in his study each day with a bottle of Firewhisky, desperately trying to steer clear of the ‘family disappointment’.
This made Elle miserable.
The Weasleys insisted that Elle stay with them for the holidays.
As much as Elle would have loved it, her father would have never allowed it.
The family name would be ‘dragged through the mud’ even deeper than before.
‘Associating with blood traitors is one thing but actually living with their breed is another, I will not let you tarnish the name of this family more than you already have, girl’ her father spoke to her, when she first returned home from school.
It was the only thing he said to her all summer.
He couldn’t even bring himself to utter her name. Instead calling her ‘girl’.
Sitting up on her bed, she heard Theo call out her name.
She took one last glance at her bedroom, then carefully closed her door. dragging her luggage into the grand hall.
It was time to go home.
Her real home.
Hogwarts.
Her house elf insisted on carrying her trunk for her, but Elle refused.
Elle would never berate or discriminate against any creature, she believed everyone was equal.
Thus the reason why she wasn’t a Slytherin.
Elle treated her house elf Twinky, the same way she would treat any other creature.
Twinky and Elle had a special relationship, and Twinky respected Elle greatly.
After dragging her trunk down the enormous marbled staircase, Elle slumped down on to the floor.
She broke out in to a sweat, beads glistened against her forehead.
Feeling short of breath she closed her eyes and positioned her body to lay on the cold wooden floor.
She felt like she was dying.
Taking a deep breath, she glanced upwards to see a confused looking Theo, giggling at her.
‘Are you okay’ he spoke between giggles.
‘Great thanks, perhaps if you had helped me with my luggage, I would not be sprawled across the floor, suffering from cardiac arrest’ Elle uttered out. Still short of breath.
‘You never asked’ he smirked.
‘Whatever, it’s done now’ she sneered at him.
‘ I never would have imagined that, seeing you ‘suffering from cardiac arrest’ as you put it.’ He said using his hands to simulate quotation marks.
“Just shut-up and help me up, dickhead’ Elle giggled at him.
“Of-course, I wouldn’t want you to wait any longer. You know, just incase you died from cardiac arrest’ he said sniggering at the last part.
Theo strolled over to Elle’s side and presented his hand.
‘Always one for the dramatics, our Elle’ he said as he guided her to her feet.
She smiled towards him.
‘I wouldn’t have it any other way’ she spoke gently. He looked down at her and smiled softly.
Releasing Elle, Theo moved over towards the fireplace. Dragging both their trunks alongside him. He glanced towards the coal, while slowly mumbling the incantation ‘Incendio’, causing the fireplace to erupt into flames.
Elle was too lost in her own thoughts to even comprehend Theo’s actions.
Too busy thinking.
Thinking about the year to come.
Thinking about the troubles she would face.
Thinking about the battles she would need to win. Within and out-with herself.
‘Are you ready?’ he uttered, snapping Elle out of her thoughts.
‘Ready as I’ll ever be’. She muttered back, with a cheerful smile.
‘Have you said goodbye to father?’ Theo whispered.
‘What do you think?’ She looked towards him with a knowing look upon her face.
“I’ll take that as a no then’ Theo looked down at her. He towered over her. At 6ft Theo was already the tallest in their year, whereas Elle stood at a meek 5ft.
Elle smiled sarcastically up at him, then averted her eyes back to the growing fire.
Her face grew flushed.
As she felt herself begin to tear up.
She bit her lip harshly, trying to contain any tears that could fall from her eyes.
As much as she and father did not get along, It was still painful that he did not even want to say goodbye.
She glanced down towards her watch, slowly checking the time. Trying to mask her feelings from her brother.
10:38
“We better get going, the train will depart soon’ Elle spoke gently, averting her gaze towards Theo. He simply nodded and proceeded to gather his luggage.
Elle slowly stalked over to the fireplace, her luggage behind her squeaking, as it was dragged over the floorboards. She pushed her luggage into the fireplace and grabbed a handful of Floo Powder. Taking one last glance at her surroundings, she gave Theo a gentle smile and closed her eyes.
She took a deep breath, and opened her mouth to speak.
“Platform Nine and Three Quarters, Kings-cross station, London”

Unforgettable
Our story begins on the 12th of June 1980 in the left wing of St Mungo’s hospital. Screams of agony were heard throughout the wing, as a young woman suffered from painful contractions. Beads of sweat were trickling down her forehead, causing her hair to grow damp. Her face flushed, her pain becoming more intense, the woman called out for her husband.
He was nowhere to be found.
Her vision started to blur as the pain became severe.
Fading in and out of consciousness, the young woman heard voices from beside her. As she weakly opened her eyes, a hand grasped her own in a tender manner, realising It was her husband she began to smile weakly.
He reached forward and stroked her cheek gently.
“You’re doing splendidly darling” he took a small breath.
“Just keep on going, you’re almost there.”
The young woman smiled again, continuing to push as hard as was physically possible. She let out a scream in exasperation. Her vision grew dim.
The pain became unbearable.
With one last push, it was over.
She lay back on the soaked bedsheet and closed her eyes, letting out a sigh of relief. She had done it. She had given birth.
She was a mother.
She heard the cry of her child and immediately opened her eyes, reaching out to be close to her newborn.
As the newborn boy lay on her chest, she held her breath in excitement. A tear fell down her cheek and landed on her infant. Smiling at her self, she gently wiped her finger over the child’s skin. She closed her eyes, focusing her thoughts onto her babies heartbeat. She hummed along to the sound of it.
She was finally happy.
As she was finally relaxed, she felt a rumble in her stomach.
Bolting up on the bed, she let out a yelp of agony as she began to feel an excruciating pain coursing through her lower stomach.
Her husband looked at her worriedly as she clutched her stomach.
The head healer was soon called in, as the young woman started to scream in agony.
Through her blurred eyes, she could barely see the healers frantically coming to her side. As she blinked, she opened her eyes and glanced at her beloved. He had worry in his eyes but stayed close as he grasped her hand for support.
As she closed her eyes again, the pain in her stomach intensified, causing her to wail out in torture.
Her breathing started to become shallow and she struggled to keep her eyes open. With one last. Glance at her husband, she closed her eyes.
Permanently.
As the pain began to subside the young woman was greeted by a welcoming white light of warmth. She was free of agony. She was free of pain.
However, she was dead.
That’s how this story begins. It is not a tale of happiness or joy. It is a nightmare of pain, betrayal and death.
That fateful day in St Mungo’s marked the end of life for one. But the beginning for two.
Theodore and Elle nott.
Life was never easy for the Nott twins. From the death of their mother, to their estranged father, they didn’t have the best of an upbringing. After the death of their mother, their father completely lost it.
He would place them under the care of a nanny while he drowned his sorrows at the nearest tavern. He drowned his sorrows without any regard for his children. Leaving them to an empty home, without love. Of course this wasn’t uncommon for pureblood families.
‘Without love’ seemed to be first rule in raising children according to purebloods.
This wasn’t always the case for every family.
Take a look at the Greengrass’ they were the perfect family. They looked after their children well. I guess that’s the difference.
Despite their father taking part in illegal activities - being a subservient slave to Lord Voldemort - he did always provide for the children. More so Theo than Elle.
He always held resentment towards the latter, blaming her for the death of his one love. He would never admit it. But Elle knew the truth.
When they twins embarked on their journey to Hogwarts, it became worse for Elle. Upon arriving, Theodore was placed into Slytherin house. Upholding years of tradition within the Nott family. Everyone was proud.
Whereas Elle was placed into Gryffindor.
Bringing shame to the family.
When the sorting hat gave its verdict, their were gasps of shock and surprise at its answer. However Elle knew, she wasn’t cut out for Slytherin.
She was a caring person, and lacked the ‘pureblood mania’ mindset of her peers within Slytherin.
Gryffindor was where she belonged.
Her father refused to speak with her after this year. He would send any money or essentials that she would need but still broke contact nonetheless. She didn’t particularly care.
She was finally happy.
Through her years at Hogwarts she made plenty of friends. She was a part of what the students called the ‘golden trio’. Even though there was four of them. It didn’t make sense, but Elle went with it, she finally belonged somewhere and was wanted, She didn’t want to start questioning it.
Theodore made friends of his own also. All pureblood Slytherins. They all grew up together, how could they not be friends.
Growing up, the Nott family was always close with the Parkinson and Green-grass families. Daphne and Pansy in particular, were always around for Elle to ‘play’ with, But this didn’t make them good friends. Elle preferred her house elf, Twinky.
Theodore’s group were the elite.
They ruled the school.
They were bullies.
No one was safe from their vicious words or their cunning attacks.
But they would never pick on her, out of respect for her brother, the same couldn’t be said for everybody else in the school.
But there was always an exception to the rules, someone who didn’t care about Theodore enough to not inflict pain.
Only one person that enjoyed causing torture upon people for their own selfish reasons.
Someone who thought bullying was a personality trait.
Draco Lucius Malfoy.
