was blasting 'dangerous' by sleep token on the highway amidst traffic and this biker passed by me, looked back and started weaving back and forth. do u think they were vibing to the music?

i feel like i don't really have anyone to tell the good news to so i'm yelling it into the void: it's been a stressful couple of months at work and i've had several breakdowns and existential crises, but my boss surprised and told me today that i just got a second annual raise!! perhaps the hard work was not in vain after all. yay!

i wonder if between "sundowning" and "even in arcadia", he tried to resist them and have avoided being with them because he had to commit to sleep and only focus on their wants and needs... i wonder if this is a case of "we're on opposite sides, we know this cannot work bc we're both fighting for different things, but fuck it – this is what we want... let us have this one thing"?

also back in tmbte's "chokehold", vessel says this:

I come as a blade A sacred guardian So you keep me sharp and test my worth in blood

perhaps he went from fighting for house veridian to fighting for the feathered host, thinking it was gonna be better (the "feather" potentially representing truth, justice and balance)? the proverb is "live by the sword, die by the sword" which is basically saying that if you choose violence, you will die by violence. seems like the album starts with vessel being confused because he thinks he's doing the right thing by "living by the feather and dying by the sword", but it doesn't feel right because ultimately, violence is violence... and perhaps he realizes that and chooses to put an end to it, because in the last song, "infinite baths", he says near the end:

All this glory you did not earn Every lesson you did not learn You will drown in an endless sea If it's blood that you want from me You can empty my arteries Will you halt this eclipse in me?

meaning that he won't make any more offerings, he won't draw blood anymore... and if sleep or whomever he serves wants it, then they'll have to take that blood from him.

"teeth of god", which was their last tour, is basically saying that he's doing the god's bidding and dirty work by serving them. on the other hand, he has the "blood of a man" and is a mere mortal just like everyone else and has thoughts, feelings, humanity and imperfections. so perhaps he's done with trying to be what the gods want him to be and will simply be himself, because as he says in "gethsemane":

I'm caught up on the person I tried to turn myself into for you Someone who didn't mind the push-pull parlour games Someone who wasn't always cryin' on the journey back Someone who didn't feel the low blows either way
