SIGH. Here's older Fern ideas bc I'm hyperfixated on adventure time now

Honestly, I might be able to make an entire comic atp on how Fern eventually gets Finn to be less "forget the past" and learn to grieve and deal with his issues without pretending it doesn't exist. Or how Fern lost his arm or learns to accept the demon literally keeping his arm alive. Maybe even how him and the grass wizard get along after years of resentment. Or how he got the ability to drink and finally, felt like himself without piggybacking Finn himself.

(If anybody has some concepts or needs tweaking on the concept I'm OPEN)

I loved this Adventure Time episode as a kid :]

My friend and I were talking about Fern's 'death' in Three Buckets a week or two ago. We thought up a scenario where Finn is able to win the fight without killing Fern (at the cost of Fern's arm), I made an animatic for it, and it's been on my mind ever since.

Plot Summary: Ashamed after his loss against Finn in Three Buckets, Fern moves out of the Tree House. He's able to regenerate his other injuries, but his arm refuses to grow back properly, only frustrating him the more he tries. The arm ends up growing back dead and hard. His knowledge of Ooo is inconsistent, still fuzzy from having Finn's half-memories. His wanderings lead him to his childhood home, forgetting that it burned down in Jermaine. There, he sees Jermaine painting abstract house fires.

Fern stays at Jermaine's desert studio to get back on his feet and find out who he is. Jermaine suggests Fern finds an art form to let out his rage in a healthier way than violence. Fern is hesitant, but Jermaine says it would be good for him, joking that he'll take paintings as payment for staying in the studio (not that he was charging Fern in the first place). Over time, Fern starts painting the things in his Vault, in an abstract, subconscious way, and is able to process who and what he is though his representations. It's a little like Abstract but for Fern.
