Ember had known that Cleo and her were both set in their ways when it came to certain things. The ginger haired shapeshifter was not one of those people who was what humans would call a backseat driver or a passenger princess only thing she really liked to control was something she could not do in an automobile, it was actually the pace in which the traffic was going. Seeing the sign of the Waffle House made the female smile with an added chuckle, "Sorry my stomach is starting to rumble as we see the sign."
"I was thinking about it, yet I feel you all could choose something that is within a theme. It was just an idea, I still need to talk to the others about it." She smiled cause they really did have a sisterhood of female shapeshifters who worked in the hospital along with the front line in the city.
Cleo didn't mind driving, unless there was potential for a part, or brunch involved - the woman liked to dance and have a good time, something difficult when at the end of the night you had to take the freeway home. It felt better for her to be in control of the vehicle...call it seeing too many close calls in ED with crash patients. There was only small-talk as her headlights illuminated dull surroundings not yet hit by mornings first light, though soon the great Waffle House on chicken legs soon began to appear upon the horizon.
"Oh?" A matching tattoo for the girls, a symbol of shared sisterhood. "That's a cute idea, Emb. I'd love to join! Are we getting matching?" Cleo had no tattoos but, had been considering it lately. She wanted the of Horus on the back of her right hand.

The doctor who had taken care a few e-mails, texts, and some other things she could via her phone as she was away so she was not distracted as the two were off at the restaurant not wanting any interruptions. As Cleo was driving which was nice cause it meant she could put on her earrings and jewelry as they were on their way. As much as Ember loved to drive, she loves when she be a passenger and enjoy looking at the surroundings as they are heading to the destination.
She chuckled, "A couple weeks ago I was walking around the city downtown and found a really cute tattoo shop, would you be interested in getting one with me and some of the girls at the hospital?"
She spends the short time Ember is gone on her phone, stood by the exit and not particularly paying attention to anyone or anything until the door re-opens and the redhead re-emerges, Cleo smiling at her friend in acknowledgement. "I'll drive," The shifter offered easily, her car being parked much nearby - as if to show this, Cleo pulled out her keys and pressed the unlock button, a nearby mini cooper's lights flashing temporarily.
"An idea? Hit me, what're you thinking?"

"What kind of reality are we actually talking here? Cause to me it seems that these happy kids are getting under your skin and it is making my day." She smirked at him finally showing her canines to the male as she let out a brief hiss. "Well I have the perfect idea, how about you paint one of these houses or buy one of the painted ones to put it out in your property to experience it all for yourself?" Ember did not want to sound mean around the other costumers yet he really was getting under her skin in more ways than one.
"Naw, I just think they need a cold hard dose of reality," Chester was only messing, sticking his tongue out at some of the kids who boo'd them in response before cackling at both their laughs and complaints, not particularly bothered by it all. They shouldn't be listening anyways, it was rude to eavesdrop on something that didn't concern you, right?
"No. Maybe the sheer wonder of mother nature herself?" The witch suggested, tapping one of the wooden boxes with a fond little hum. It all seemed incredibly twee and cute, a box Chester could never force themselves to fit in or imitate. He supposed he could paint one like the Los Pollos Hermanos store from Breaking Bad.

"In no way am I going to say we are getting old, cause we both know that is not the case." She smirked at him with a soft nod. After relaxing her muscles for a few minutes she stood back up and headed towards the garden shed to see if she had any seed for the birds, as she was in there she saw a mouse scurry pass her feet out towards the garden which she chuckled at cause she was harmless to them in human form even when she ran after them following to see where they headed on her property. As she came back towards Jude she gave him a look of concern than asked, "Are you hungry? I might have a little something inside for you that is more up your alley."
"As long as you and everyone we know is okay is all that matters." Ember told him about the incident during Mardi Gras that they would be having a fundraiser for in the future which she just got information about. "You of all people should not be shocked at me being speechless, I just did not expect you to be around so late when it all went down is all. That is definitely one way to put it and I can say it keeps me out of trouble for the most part."
"That's a nice way to say a very long time." He smiled, looking up at the birds and then back down, seeing the vein in her neck and turning his eyes away from it. The desire for blood was always there but he had it well under control. Sliding into a what was going to be a warm spring and summer. Winter was always an unwelcome guest in New Orleans and never stayed too long. Jude had always liked spring the best. Before the true sticky heat of the summer settled in. And for just a moment he felt very close to normal. Even if he would never be what he was again. But still for this moment with Ember it was nice.
He nodded, "It was a terrible thing. Without any good reason why." He hadn't planned on being in the thick of it. Hadn't planned on being out very late. It had all just happened so quickly. He let glanced over to Ember and gave her a reassuring smile, "Didn't realize that would shock you silent. Bit of an issue isn't it? Being hardwired to help in a crisis. And that's what I think kicked in. I can imagine work was pretty crazy for you after everything."

All the gingered hair pale skinned doctor could do was chuckle at her friends response. The two were really good about telling one another stories about one another's patients without breaking any confidentiality breaches.
Deciding to shower once she got home, the doctor changed back into a cute spring dress along with matching shoes before meeting her friend out where they planned to meet once she was ready to leave for the night. One thing Ember always did was exit the door she entered as best she could and on this day, the last exit she made was from the door near where Cleo was waiting. "Should you or I drive this time?" She asked her as she got closer knowing the location of where they were going like the back of her hand. "By the way, I have to talk to you about an idea I had, if you are interested that is."
"Hey, no breaches of patient confidentiality with me," Cleo held up her hands, smile on her face seeming somewhat brighter after catching Ember, the Dr. agreeing to lunch-come dinner-come breakfast of sorts. Time lost meaning within the white walls of a hospital, windowless corridors illuminated by harsh neon lighting, defined only by ticking clocks and tea trolleys.
The redhead has always been easy to talk to, get along with. "Sure. Hurry, though, I'm worried the thing'll take off again and we'll be half an hour trying to re-find it," The thing being the Waffle House on legs.

Hearing the comment about about damaging the egos of the kids if they painted a bird house made the shapeshifter laugh along with piss her off just a little bit. The white tiger in her wanted to hiss at him to see what kind of reaction she would get from him. As much as she wanted to flash her teeth at him along with have her eyes change she knew to behave especially with other people in attendance at the booth. She smirked with a soft laugh, "Are you actually kidding or are you just scared these kids are way more artistic than you are?"
Hearing the kids along with the parents laughing at her comment she thanked them for laughing cause she was actually trying to be funny. "To answer your question I have seen birds in the ones I have. I know some people use them for fairy houses and to catch other animals. It just depends on what you put in them honestly. Are you trying to trap anything special?"
He'd been wandering around, getting the nice girl from the home-made jewelry stall to watch his patch in exchange for a few ciggies and a swig from his canteen of mojito. The bird houses looked cute, many children sat with sets of painting having a go at red rooves and flowers painted along the walls. Chester noticed how their parents cooed and encouraged them, beaming in delight at each mark made and it made something sour curdle inside him. So much time had passed yet, he couldn't forgive his own parents. The bird houses were well put together, the witch turning his gaze over when the woman who ran this arts and crafts stall called out, tone friendly. "Oh, I know. I just don't wanna wipe the floor with these kids and damage their egos that young. It wouldn't be fair,"
They grin, all crooked like. "Kidding. Do you actually get birds in them?"

Ember did not know of the different territories, all she knew is she and her kind were safe here in the city for the most part. All she knew is that they were in the Art and Warehouse District by one of her favorite galleries. Thankfully they were willing to donate to the fundraiser and supplied some paint brushes along with tarps for the tables that were inside and around the booth. The ginger haired female smiled at the male who was asking for larger ones to which she nodded, "Yes we do. We just did not want to scare away any of the parents or kids with them. They are in the boxes under the table here." She leaned down to grab the boxes to show the bigger houses to the male. "Do any of these catch your attention?"
He just needs to show face and well, Lightless territory seems like a good spot to not meet anyone that will remind him how fucking miserable he feels. But he wants to be there, wants people to know that there's also people helping not only the civilians, but the animals too. He stops at a bird house booth, it's nice. Birds are often forgotten during tragic disasters, so he appreciates the touch as someone who can turn into a Peregrine falcon. "Do you happen to have bigger ones? If you don't it's alright, I'm happy to pain anything and donate. Are you a doctor?" Regular conversation to distract himself sounds also heavenly.

If Dr. Adams was a human, she would be better about doing things on a regular basis from eating, exercising, showering, and sleeping cause she knew she could not continue on in a healthy way. For her she was better getting the needed essentials just to fool others and thankful to have people of her own kind around so she did not have to give off a certain persona. Dinner or a catch up with Cleo was always welcomed cause the two were always at ease with one another the way Ember saw it anyways.
On this day she was wearing the regular hospital scrubs cause she had heard through the grapevine some higher ups would be making the rounds. She always wanted to impress them cause it meant a lot to the hospital especially after everything that went down around Mardi Gras. "I will tell you as much as I can, you know the rules. Give me ten minutes and I will meet you back here." She smirked.
When was the last time Cleo ate something of substance? She thought back, trying to place anything that wasn't leftovers from Du Monde or a protein bar from a convenience store. A shame really, because she enjoyed cooking...all the craziness around Mardi Gras had meant she hadn't had chance to host her brother and sister for their monthly dinner-catch-up-type thing. A peace offering of sorts.
"I just know what women want...and it's waffles," Cleo joked in response, denying such a thing. "C'mon. You can tell me about anything interesting that happened during the surgeries. Find anything you shouldn't have?"

One of Ember's neighbors who was also helping at the booth and supplied some of the bird houses suggested the ginger haired female take a break to go look around. She nodded in agreement and ran her fingers through her hair before leaving the booth once she grabbed her phone along with her wallet. Once she finished at a handful of booths, she was heading towards her car to put the purchases she made in the trunk before heading back towards the booth.
The short in stature ginger haired woman was sipping on a swamp slurpee she got got at the near by 7 Eleven as she started to feel something she had not felt in a long time. As she was looking down at her phone checking her e-mails and text messages she bumped into someone to which she looked up and quickly said, "I am sorry, I did not mean to bump into you, I was not looking where I was going. Are you okay?"
Where: the fundraiser.
starter: open to everyone
Meg was casually walking by the different booths, seeing what everyone was selling. She had decided close hers a bit early so she could stroll along the street and check everything out, the day was actually inviting, the sun was out and the city seemed to have forgotten the events of last month, but not her. She was still looking over her shoulder and checking the dark corners of the streets, places where something or someone could be lurking. Megara was so focused on checking her surroundings that she never heard the person next to her, it didn't even need for the person to put hands on her, her magic crackling in her hands.

OPEN STARTER.
The Bird House Painting Booth Near The Arthur Roger Art Gallery.
Ember finished helping a set of children with their bird houses that they were painting. It was as she looked up as their parents walked in thanking her for watching them as they went to explore the rest of the market she noticed someone looking over the different houses that were prepped to be painted. She called over to the person, "I actually have quite a few of that house painted differently all over my property and at the hospital where I work. Any and everything you do will look amazing, I promise."
