Edit: Yo, sorry for the immense change to this comic page but I noticed an inconsistency with the robot's dialogue boxes and felt the need to correct it.

Happy Father’s Day!
Beware if you spot a bear cub in the wild, for the parent is likely near by even if it’s not immediately obvious…

And some bonus Pride Month art:

I’m sorry it’s not the next page of my pride month comic for Lou, but it takes quite a bit for me to complete a full on comic. And of course I had to make sure I did something for Father’s Day since I did something for Mother’s Day. I promise I’ll get to the next page soon. Anyway, give love to whoever has been a terrific father figure to you! Have a lovely day!

Happy Pride Month, My Buddies! 🏳️🌈
Sorry for missing yesterday. I was trying to narrow down what I wanted to do to celebrate this month, which I managed to do!
Here’s a sneak peak of what to expect:

The theme is flowers! … That’s it. Just… a whole lot of flowers. 🌺 💐
I’ll try to post these works in an orderly manner, but forgive me if that doesn’t end up being the case. Alright, you guys have a good day!

Ugly Dolls 2: Meet the Maker
Chapter 4 (March of the Prototypes)
At 8:05 am, the intersect of the twenty doors suddenly went from being devoid of life to rumbling from the sound mechanical clanging as iron doors shot open. Behind each of them was a doll in black uniform, stepping into the large and circular room of iron while particles of dust floated about due to the atmosphere's disturbance. The light at the center of the area illuminated the area upon sensing the dolls' movements. They all faced each other, still yet on edge, not a word was exchanged. For what could be said when you haven't seen your family for over fifteen years and were abruptly forced into a reunion you aren't prepared for? Actually, the awkward silence made them realize that some one was missing. They all turned to the door labeled "12" and waited.
Two minutes passed, then three, then six. It was now 8:15 am and no sign of Prototype 12. None of the the prototypes have ever been so late to a meet up at the intersect before. They were all getting worried as to what could be keeping him, especially Number 3. However, Hildegard was never one for patience or forgiving tardiness. Not even by one minute. So even though it took only a ten minute walk to the conference chamber, it became a routine for them to leave their institutes at least 40 minutes before the time of the meeting. And they couldn't afford to make any exceptions, not even for each other.
Wordlessly, Prototypes 1 and 10 nodded to each other and started walking. Two lines were formed behind them, the rest of the dolls lining up in numerical order. They struggled at first to walk in unison but the practice was never really forgotten, and within minutes their steps became one just like before. The corridor was now filled with the sound of synchronized foot steps. However, the chime of three different watches did startle the various dolls, causing a brief falter within the lines. Prototypes 9, 10, and 11 checked their watches.
"Notification failed to send to Prototype Number 12. 9, 10, and 11, please fetch him. Two puppets will be sent your way to accompany you."
The three dolls stepped out of line and looked at each other as the others continued off without so much as a glance back. Well, almost all the others. The three of them kept their voices hushed.
"So, that's why he was late. But the factory's network should be top-notch! Hildegard always makes sure of that! How could the message possibly fail to be sent?" Number 9 was frantically stroking her hair, trying to calm herself down.
"Maybe he some how destroyed his watch?" Number 10 tried to hide his worry but it did nothing to ease 9.
"But there's nothing a prototype could do to cause that!"
"9, please! Questions will have to wait, I'm afraid. I'm sure there's a good explanation but right now let's just quickly get him and arrive to the meeting on time, alright?" 11's intervention seemed to do the trick of getting 9 to control herself but barely. The group was soon joined by a pair of tall, thin robots known as the puppets who began to walk beside the group to the twelfth door. Until they were stopped by a little, pastel-purple doll with green eyes.
"Uh- uhm... May I go with you guys?" Number 3 asked timidly. While the puppets stared her down intensely, 11 couldn't help but empathize with her. He knew she wasn't just concerned about him being late. The bear kneeled down to meet her eyes.
"Number 3, Hildegard asked for us, specifically. It's best for you to go back in line with the others, okay?" She lowered her head, disappointed by 11's words. She knew her request would be denied but... she felt a large paw lift her head up by the chin. "Hey, come on. You'll get to see him again at the meeting. Just be patient, okay Mahal?" She was comforted by the use of his favorite endearment term for her, despite it being against the rules. It seems like he hadn't changed all that much. One glance at the other two prototypes and robots said otherwise for them, only meeting silence and hardened gazes.
"You should listen to Number 11. You don't want to get in trouble, do you?" Number 9 warned. She didn't mean to use her threatening tone on the younger doll but time was ticking. And thus Number 3 fixed her demeanor and silently went back in line while the others continued on.
As they walked back, 11 shot a disapproving look at 9 but the tall, pink doll allowed no sign of regret to shine through her button eyes. All the while, Number 10 stood between them, his bright, yellow-green eyes down-casted and blue tail tucked between his legs from the tension. Once they reached the door, one of the puppets placed its hand on the scanning pad beside it, followed by the sound of air suctioning into the open pipe before them. Due to the extensive darkness, the dolls stuck close to the puppets, taking cautious steps as they proceeded downward into the cold, metal space. They soon came across a dim light that was only a few several yards away. The time was 8:30 am.

Ugly Dolls 2: Meet the Maker
Chapter 3 (Curiouser and Curiouser)
Lou didn't realize he had fallen asleep on the cold floor until he was awoken by the sound of knocking on the door. He refused to pay any mind to it, seeing how his anxiety still wasn't calmed despite the attack being over. "Lou, It's me! Ox! You in there?" Okay, now that caught his attention, but he still wouldn't raise his head at the voice.
'What could that bunny want from me now?' he thought annoyedly.
"Lou, please, I know you're in there. I just wanna ask ya some questions."
'Nope, not answering you!' The prototype shouted in his head as he shrunk further into his fetal position.
"Lou, we're not leaving until you talk to us!" Moxy yelled out from behind the door.
'Oh, good grief.' Okay, if he wanted to be left alone in peace, he'd have to answer whatever questions the dolls had for him and get it over with. His pounding head and his aching back made it a struggle to rise up from the ground, but he managed to do it. He hobbled his way towards the door.
"Ugh, alright! Alright!" He grumbled as he opened the door. "What do you want?"
Moxy was prepared to act tough towards Lou, pointing a finger at him, but stopped. "Who- wait... Were you crying?" Ox, who was standing to the side of the door way, looked more closely at the blonde.
"Wh-what do you mean?" He straightened his posture. Sure he was a mess right now, but what gave that away?
"Um, you've got tear streaks on your face." Mandy pointed out. Lou wiped at his cheek, finding some moisture left behind from last night's panic attack. He quickly cleaned his face with his sleeves.
"Ugh, whatever! What did you really come here for?" He was now leaning against the door frame, trying to appear collected. Ox didn't buy it, of course, but he would have to save his concern for another time.
"We were wondering about that photo of yours. The one I gave back to you yesterday?" Lou was no longer leaning, his eyes widened slightly and his attention fixed on Ox, now. "It's just... we kinda got curious about it. We were wondering who the dolls in the photo with you were." Ox had seen Lou be fearful before, but not in the way he was right now. Like the mere mention of those dolls would bring bad luck. But Lou caught himself and fixed his face back to neutral.
"They're nobody important to you guys. And even if they were, it's unlikely you'll ever get to meet them." He went back inside to gather his cleaning supplies.
"Wh-what do you mean by that?" Ox asked as he followed Lou into the shed, but he kept his distance from the blonde.
"They're not allowed to step outside their designated institutes without given authorization. Just like how I'm not allowed to leave mine." Lou picked something off the ground and then there was a sound of printed paper shifting. he tried to keep his steps steady as he walked around but Ox caught on to his slight misstep.
'There are other institutes? How come we've never heard of them?' Ox was pulled out of his internal questions at the sudden sound of boxes toppling to the ground.
"God, come on!" Lou snapped underneath his breath.
"Hey, are you really okay?" Lou was now exiting the shed with a bucket and mop in hand.
"Yes, I'm good! Now, please leave me alone! I've got work to do, remember?" Ox could tell he directed that hiss at the end towards him, specifically. A slight at how the group were keeping him from a punishment they placed on him.
"Hey, come on! We just wanna know who they are!" Moxy called back. Admittedly, she didn't expect Lou to stop a few yards away from the shed but he did. He let out a defeated sigh and looked back.
"It's on top of my dresser. I threw away the frame so it's just the picture. Feel free to just keep it if you're so interested." And with that, Lou was off to do his job. He didn't want to look at it any longer, not when it only brought up soiled memories and fear. Ox turned to the dresser beside the bed, and sure enough, the photo was there with Ox's picture put to the side. The bunny hesitantly picked up the image and inspected it while the others joined in.
He spotted the pink doll Moxy described and the grey teddy bear Babo mentioned. His own attention was brought to a different doll in the photo. She stood beside Lou with the pink doll behind her. The strange doll looked like she belonged in Uglyville and yet not belong at the same time. She had a shorter stature than Lou, had pastel purple felt for skin, dark-green, beady eyes, large, pointed ears, a small, bulbous nose, and long, messy, black hair.
Ox turned the photo to see if there was any information on the back, and thankfully there was. There was a list of names with numbers beside them, one to twenty.

What the numbers were for, none of the dolls knew. And which name belonged to which doll, they didn't know either. But either way, they would get answers soon enough. The time was 8:30 am when the over head speakers across town spoke up.
"IN COMING! IN COMING!"

Ugly Dolls 2: Meet the Maker
Chapter 2 (What To Do)
Lou speed walked all the way back to his shed. His cleaning abandoned, mop and bucket held tightly in his right grip, but the picture within the broken frame held even tighter in his left. He could only dodge the presence of other dolls so much when there was a plethora of emotions and thoughts racing through his mind. He bumped into plenty of Imperfection civilians who proceeded to revile him upon collision, but only from a distance as he stalked away too quickly to really hear them.
And even if he did, he wouldn't have cared what they had to say. 'What does it matter what they have to say? They're strangers! They knew nothing about me. But the dolls in the photo? The other prototypes? They were my family. What would they have to say if they knew how terribly I failed?' When Lou finally reached his new home, it all really came crashing down on him. 'Oh, God! My actions, downfall, Hildegard, her expectations, the prototypes, and their training. If I don't figure out a way to cover up this disaster soon, everything would change. Absolutely everything!'
He could feel his breath quickening, his heart rate rising, his body quaking, tears streaming. It felt like the room was spinning and there was a piercing ringing in his ears. He knew what was going on with him, it had happened hundreds of times before during the last sixteen years of his existence. All he had to do was close his eyes and wait it out, but this time it wouldn't go away as quickly as before. There was just so much going on through his head, so much he had to worry about, so much that was going to happen. All he could do was collapse to the floor of the shed and try to wait out the attack. Even if it took all night.
It was now 7:30 am and Ox had made up his mind about questioning Lou about the photo, but he still needed to figure out where to start. He knew that Lou knew them on a seemingly personal level based on the image, and that the prototype did miss him to an extent if the torn photograph taped to the frame was anything to go by. But who were the unfamiliar dolls themselves? And did they have a roll he needed to be weary of? Well, all that would have to wait. He had another busy day full of mayoral duties that needed to be completed, all of which were listed on a white board pinned to a cork board above his desk. "Man, being mayor of an expanding town is a lot more work than I realized." He yawned out as he rubbed at his eye.
Ox decided, however, to meet with Moxy and the others (Mandy, Lucky Bat, Ugly Dog, Wage, Babo, and Nolan) at the Wage's bakery for breakfast, first. It was now 8:00 am and the topic of conversation within the friend group had moved to lou and his picture. He tried to keep the conversation off of that, wanting to deal with the topic by himself, but his efforts were fruitless as Wage and Moxy enter a friendly argument. "Moxy, why is this so important to you? I mean, this is Lou you're talking about! I doubt anything of his would have any importance to anyone."
"This isn't about Lou! Look, there was this... doll that was in his photo. And she looked a little bit like me, accept..." Moxy paused her gesturing as her eyes landed on her breakfast sandwich. "Okay, I don't know how to describe it but... I feel like I'm supposed to know her! Like, she's important to me..." She sighs as she resumes eating. "Ugh, never mind. Forget I brought it up." Ox knew her frustration wasn't directed at them, but it didn't quell his worry for her.
"Well, Wage, you should have seen how she and Babo looked at the photo. They would've stared at it for hours if we didn't snap them out of it." Mandy piped in. "Babo, who were you looking at in the photo?" The doll in question waited until he was finished chewing on his breakfast.
"It was a grey teddy bear who was standing with Lou, and... yeah. He did seem weirdly familiar to me but, um, I couldn't figure out where I'd seen him." babo shrugged his shoulders. "If I even did see him before." He kept his answer as quick and straight to the point as possible, and his gaze remained on his now empty plate. The group fell silent, which Ox didn't like. He wasn't going to start the day like this. And he knew Moxy wouldn't let go of her questions so easily. So, Ox could only think of one thing to do.
"You know what? Let's just ask Lou!" Immediately, the group was now looking at the mayor with looks that were a mix of confusion and offense. "Look we have questions for him, so why don't we ask? Look, Moxy, I know you're not gonna drop this without some sort of answer. So? Let's just find him and get this resolved." He was now hopping off of his seat. His other errands could wait. "I mean it's not like he has any big plans for today, right? " The group still looked weary about questioning the town outcast, but Ox did have a point. So, they proceeded to quickly finish the rest of their food and walk out of the bakery. Though, little did they realize that Lou did have a busy day ahead of him. He just didn't know it yet. The time was now 8:15 am.

Ugly Dolls 2: Meet the Maker
Chapter 1 (The Photo)
After Lou's downfall, both the ugly and pretty dolls got to work on blending what used to be the Institute of Perfection and Uglyville. They belted out their song of victory as they sang and danced through their new home. And as busy as he was developing his new city, Ox always took time out of his busy schedule to party with everyone, primarily his friends, in celebration of their liberation. But there was still one person who stayed out of the way of the festivities.
Lou was hiding away in a random alley way, moping away small puddles of paint left behind by some of the dolls while his mind brought forth internal thoughts that had been emerging since the they took over.
'What else was there to do, now? Aside from cleaning, of course. What was the point in me existing if the dolls could just go through the portal willy nilly? Sure, the newly made dolls won’t last a day out there, but as if Ox and the others would let me teach again. Wait, teach... oh, God... The Maker... she might find out. What will she do if enough dolls enter the big world without train- '
He was pulled away from his thoughts when a sudden splash of cold, dirty water spilled over his head. "Get back to work, robot! No standing around on the job!" Said a male voice. "Yeah, you missed a spot!" that one was from a feminine voice. The commands came from a group of dolls who were sauntering away. Lou kept his glare on his reflection in the newly formed puddle of water. They high fived and cackled at the prank that had already been pulled several times over the past few days alone. Lou had come to accept the treatment at this point. And besides, he had bigger things to worry about. A new threat to consider.
He continued to mop away the water that had formed beneath him when he heard another set of footsteps heading in his direction. Again, he stayed focused on his work, not planning on giving them the time of day. Though, they did get close enough to enter his peripheral vision and allow him to see who they were.
"Lou?" It was Ox. "What happened to ya?" He sounded concerned, which surprised the blonde doll, but he kept his mouth shut and his demeanor stoic. "Lou." Ox was firmer that time but there was no anger in his voice. The blonde thought it best to respond but kept his gaze fixed to the ground he was cleaning.
"What does it matter to you? I'm working, aren't I?" Lou's tone was sharp but low, making it clear to Ox that he wanted to alone. The mayor stood his ground, however.
"I'm just asking what happened." Lou was now mopping more vigorously, the two dolls still not meeting eye to eye.
"Well, don't you have a city to run? A party to go to, Mayor Ox?" His voice was raised as he hissed out the title, the mopping ceased. Ox opened his mouth to retort angrily, but decided to think better of it. He didn't want to engage in an argument with the former leader and get side tracked from what he originally came for. He shook his head and instead pulled out an unknown object from a back pocket. Lou figured out that it was something wooden if the clanking sound it made was anything to go by.
"Whatever. Look, Moxy and some of the others found this photograph tucked away in your desk drawer." The only photographs Lou owned were giant, printed art works of himself, except... He finally looked up at Ox to see what he brought. It was a broken photograph. "It's your's, right?"
Earlier that day, Nolan, Moxy, Babo, and Mandy were up in Lou's old mansion cleaning it out and decorating it to be used as a workspace for dolls who were more tech oriented. They had most of Lou's stuff sent to the recycling apart from his essentials such as clothes, hygiene supplies, and a small dresser for him to keep his clothes and items. They chose to save most of the furniture and office supplies for future use, though. They didn't bother with being gentle with anything except for the furniture as they had free reign over the space.
As Babo and Moxy were rough housing in what used to be Lou's old office, they bumped into the desk so hard that a top drawer flew right out and crashed onto the floor. They wouldn't be worried about it if it weren't for the immediate sound of glass shattering and wood cracking that followed the fall.
"Shoot, you don't think that was important, do you?" Babo asked, a little bit nervous. Moxy, on the other hand, was nonchalantly walking towards the fallen drawer.
"Eh, it's just more of Lou's stuff so I doubt it. If the drawer's broken, though, I bet you could fix it in a heartbeat, Babo!" Moxy reassured. She picked up what was inside the drawer to see what it was... then froze. Her face contorted into that of bewilderment. Babo and the others walked over to her to what would have her so perplexed. It was a photograph inside a now broken frame with the glass shattered, due to the impact. Taped to said frame was an image of Ox, apparently torn from a previous picture. It was the main photo itself, however, that had the dolls' attention.
It looked to be a family photo of some kind, but they only recognized Ox in the separate, torn picture and Lou who was near the center, looking happier and more innocent than they ever thought possible. Surrounding him were dolls none of them recognized. Most of them were animals, some seemed to be mythical creatures. But Moxy only had eyes on the tall, pink doll standing to the left of Lou. She knew she hadn't seen the doll before but couldn't help but feel like she was supposed to know her. Like when you see a stranger's face on the news and you feel like you've met them before you could even remember anything at all.
The doll was designed to be of human shape, much like Lou. She had a round head that was fairly larger than the rest of he body, similar to the design of the pretty dolls. Except, she was given greater height than them, if her scale compared to Lou's was anything to go by. She had jet black yarn hair that was curled up at the ends, similar to the things that stuck of the sides of Moxy's head. Her felt skin was a bright pinkish red, also just like Moxy's. Though, the main thing that set her apart in the crowd were her eyes, which were two black buttons sewn on to the head with thread that matched her skin. All the other dolls had plastic, round eye balls of various designs and colors, but she was the only one with button eyes. She wore the exact same outfit as Lou, in fact they all had on the same outfit. The only thing that set everyones' attire apart were the neck accessories that they all wore, which were unique for each doll.
Moxy was snapped out of her thoughts when she felt a few taps on her shoulder. It was Mandy and she looked worried.
"Hey, Moxy, what's wrong?" She kept her voice hushed. How long did Moxy stand around, staring at this photo? Apparently, not as long as Babo, who was also staring it down with the same perplexed and curious look on his face. Moxy wasn't sure which doll he was looking at, though. There were so many in the picture. Nolan was nudging at the big doll's shoulder but got no reaction. He eventually gave up and just shrugged. However, Moxy knew an effective way to get Babo's attention. She started to poke him on his sides, which earned a shocked look and then a slight giggle from the grey doll.
"Ha ha hey, Moxy! Cut that out!" he gently swatted her hand away. She couldn't help but grin at his reaction, but her expression shifted back to mild concern.
"Heh, sorry, Babo. But you seemed to be more fixated on this photo than I was! I had to get through to you." Mandy begged to differ as they were both pretty engrossed. Moxy just happened to snap out of it earlier than him. Though, that wasn't the main worry. Who were those dolls? And were Babo and Moxy somehow familiar with them? Well, questions could wait. This picture belongs to Lou and they ought to return it to him. Nolan doubted he'd be willing to simply be near them, though, so he passed it to Ox, which led to their meet up in the alley way.
Lou hesitantly took the broken photograph and he stared at it like the rest of the world faded away. Maybe it did for him.
"Lou, who-" the former leader spun on his heels and proceeded to stride away.
"I have to go." Lou tried to hide the shake in his voice but to no avail.
"Hey, hold on! Lou!" But the blonde was already gone. Disappeared amongst the buildings. Ox could've caught up to him, but what would be the point? He made it clear enough that he was in no mood to talk, especially about the photo in his possession. So, Ox decided to just go on with his own day: give a presentation on some of the changes he plans to make for the town, grab a bite to eat from Wage's bakery, and head home. The questions would have to wait.

Prologue
Everything started off normal for the doll prototypes. Wake up, change uniform, freshen up a little, quick breakfast, and prepare to send the graduating dolls to the Big World where they belong. It was at 9:00 am when the notification was sent to their watch. It was a normal chime of the watch to their dolls but depending on what it said, it was a siren alarm to an on-coming storm for the prototypes. And what they read had them both confused and very terrified.
"Attention! Monthly in-person reports to be given. Meeting in conference chamber, 9:00am tomorrow."
The prototypes could've perhaps called it a monthly meeting if it hadn't been over 15 years since they last had one. During those years, they've been confined to their designated quality control centers, sending out digital reports to the Maker that detailed the dolls' training. It's a routine the prototypes have gotten used to over the years, even preferring it over giving in-person telling of their work. Despite the isolation, they at least didn't have to exhaust themselves, trying to stay in a synchronized motion walking together and keeping perfect posture while trying to rehearse their speech under their breath. Still, regardless of how they felt, they knew better than to disobey the Maker. They soon became anxious as to what could cause the Maker to hold a live meeting so suddenly. Wondering if it was something that one of them did.
