I honestly can’t get over how she changed her teeth like, her old ones suited her so nicely such a shame 😭 same situation with Scarlett Johansson

I would understand if they were very crooked or overall not nice looking at all but the ones that they have, it match their faces and looks less natural

Looking back at old interviews where EW still had her old teeth, idk her smile looked more genuine

Her natural teeth gave her character and the new teeth look nice, but they do mirror the rest of Hollywood standards. Though I recall Watson cheering on embracing natural and unaltered beauty, including not having perfect teeth, but she ended up doing what most do in that industry. Which is fine.

There may be something psychologically to it when you see someone smile with their natural teeth opposed to cosmetically enhanced teeth. Maybe it's knowing they've been altered that makes the smile look less genuine or something, even if the person is genuinely smiling. I suppose at least she didn't go with that neon white sort of teeth that look extremely unnatural.

I don't think the new HP reboot is a cash grab, but JK's attempt to get back at the original actors who opposed her on her views on trans people. She wants to replace Dan, Emma and Rupert especially given her recent tweet about how they can save their apologies for detrans people blah blah.

I honestly highly doubt that. I suppose it could be possible, but I just really don't think that would be the case. I personally don't think Rowling cares that much if the original actors don't support her view, just as I'm sure the actors don't really care if Rowling doesn't support their views (don't forget that Watson didn't call Rowling out at all). I think it's just a cash grab as well as a way to be more inclusive and capture more from the books that were left out in the films. I think they're just jumping on the reboot train that's been chugging along for years now.

I think she got tired of never getting any huge deal projects for the most part or exciting things that interested her much in acting career and instead got too many b-movie or side role gigs and couldnt pass auditions for the big stuff she really wanted so lost interest in hollywood and wants to do her own thing.

I think it could be that combined with her not actually liking acting. It seems she doesn't really want to do the promotional work either unless it's on her own, based on how she handled the Little Women promo.

She could be! I look forward to seeing whatever she puts out there.

i think she does intend to only work on films where she has total creative control meaning she gets to both write direct and likely star in the movies she makes. I sense she has noticed how many of her films got a weak reception after hp and she maybe thinks it was everyone else who is the issue and never recongised it might also be down to her weak acting skills lol

Yes, I can see her thinking along the lines of, it's because of this and that, that the film I was in didn't do well even though she's not a strong actor. I'll definitely be interested in seeing something she has complete control over. Though she may quickly learn that making films is a group effort and you need to be flexible. People also may not want to work with someone who can't take recommendations or criticism. It's really a team effort.

Honestly I think Emma doesn't needs acting or even Hollywood anymore. She's forever iconic and has reached a point where she can now do whatever she wants and pursue things that actually interest her and bring her joy. She has finally slotted into the socialite, influencer/spokesperson role that was always the best fit for her. And it shows because she seems happier and more at ease than ever.

Well, part of being an influencer is fan service and she doesn't seem to want to do that outside of when she posts things she wants her fans to buy (ie: her brother's gin). Social media has changed a lot. People support influencers who consistently provide them with something, interact with the fans, show appreciation, etc. I think if she really wants to go the influencer route, she's going to have to at least remove some of the bricks to the wall she placed between her and her fans (some reasons for that wall are warranted, though, like how they invade her privacy and post her locations).

she realised you can just shoot a film with no script so had to go do a writing course first thats why her studio isnt making anything she is working backwards after rushing too fast into this idea imo lol

I'm sure she'd be able to get scripts sent to her, despite whatever reputation she may have in the industry. But she does seem to strike me as someone who wants to do her own thing. I'll be interested in seeing what she comes up with, especially if she writes the script. Based on everything she's put out there, from acting to interviews, etc., she seems to have some difficulty putting herself in someone else's shoes. But we shall see.

I don't think she's enjoyed acting since the third HP movie, so that's a long time to pretend to want to do something just for the benefits of the gig. And after HP, she continued out of wanting to prove people wrong, not because she loved acting. I think it's good that she's stepping away, for both her and other actresses. For example, to me, Belle should have gone to a talented newcomer who could both act and sing. It would have been a great boost to their career whereas for Watson, it could have been viewed as just an easy money-grab.

Do you think with the new upcoming Harry Potter reboot on HBO, it will be an all British cast again? Kind of annoyed how it hasn’t even been that long for it to be warranted for a reboot

I don't think Rowling will have that demand this time. Yeah I think it's too soon for a reboot. It seems like a cash grab at this point. The original trio are only in their thirties. But it should be interesting to see what they do. I remember thinking a tv series would have allowed them to get everything from the books, so it's interesting they're actually going that route. I'm sure it'll be more inclusive this time, too.

At the time she said she would make a movie in 2023 interview for early 2024 she was not aware many hollywood strikes would occur and push everything back and i also dont think she had signed up to oxford again at that stage but now she has and the going back to acting idea has gone away again but she wont say anything and keep giving false hope to fans so they stick around to buy her gin and perfume lol

It's very possible that any future works have been pushed back due to the strikes. Guess we shall see. I'll be positive and think she's not using that concept to sell her products lol. I don't know if she'd really go that low tbh.

The HBO reboot of hp now feels like an attempt by JKR to erase Dan and Emma from being seen as those characters as JKR clearly has beef with them. I worry about any new kids who take those roles as hp is so toxic now media/old fans/trolls will be all over them...hopefully they just arent online to see any hate.

I don't think it's some malicious attempt to erase Radcliffe and Watson and I don't particularly think she has any real beef with either of them. It's just another cash grab imo. I don't think enough time has gone by to warrant a reboot and I think the author's behavior has turned a lot of people off from the HP world. That being said, I agree about the new child actors. I do hope that Watson will step in and tell her fans to stop if they hassle the new Hermione actress saying that Watson was better/can never be replaced/whatever. Considering they'll be a child, I think she may. In a way, I think she'll be happy that there will be more distance between her and Hermione/Emmione.

I also hope that whatever PR team is behind the new series doesn't have the actors become a "real life" version of their character, even if that would help get views. I do believe Emmione was a decision made between Watson, her guardian, and the PR team, but I don't think she had informed consent and knowledge to fully understand how that was going to affect her life moving forward and especially when HP ended. To be fair, she later chose to not completely blow up or transition from the image after HP ended, so that part is a bit more on her. Though I do understand why she wouldn't change anything since being Emmione helped her land roles and other gigs.

I think it is clear at this point that Emma is done with acting. It seems like it wasn't something she actually enjoyed and she seems happier now.

She may do it again if she wants to, but I agree that it wasn't something she actually enjoyed. Especially after HP when she had to audition and compete with more talented actresses. She also said she was acting after HP to prove people wrong that she can act. She wasn't a one-hit wonder. That's not a genuine love of the craft, that was just trying to prove people wrong. I think it's good that she is leaning more into her interests.

2024 is the most undergound she's been since 2020 really not getting spotted much or posting on insta (aside from her birthday)

Could be a mix of her actually having to do the work for her master's program and not wanting people to catch her traveling. I don't think Oxford would do a lot of special treatment for a master's program, no matter the student. And with regard to traveling, she was starting to get called out for her carbon footprint while marketing herself as an eco activist. I can see why Backgrid hasn't been photographing her when she's out and about.

That would be good. I would hope Oxford wouldn't let her do what she did with Brown, so her unaltered attendance would be mandatory/no special treatment. Though they did participate in that curious study abroad program to a college not on their list and to her home country. I'm curious to see her creative works. I was surprised to read she was going for creative writing, as that never really seemed to be something she shared with for her marketing. She must be a decent creative writer to have been accepted into their master's program. I don't think Oxford would just let her in because of her name, as supposedly that didn't work for her BA.

Media have falsely created the idea that Emma watson bashed JKR all the time and spoke out harshly against her and many people just believe this headlines and repeat it so much that i think even JKR became convinced it happened now sees emma and old hp cast as enemies

Agreed. Watson didn't fight it either, as I'm sure she was fine whichever way people would take it. If they claimed she was calling out Rowling, then her trans fans would be happy. If they didn't, she still said that she supports her trans fans. That would be pretty interesting if Rowling actually believes that Watson called her out. You'd just have to go back and see what she did say. She also only made her statement after people were calling her out. Like I said before though, she doesn't owe anyone her voice, but with her marketing, I understand why people would expect her to say something. She went the safest route imo.

Its really past 'early' 2024 at this point imo and there is no sign of her filming anything or casting rumours, i think her previous plans she stated in an interview in 2023 have not gone ahead.

It appears so. I guess we'll see what 2025 could have in store for her. I thought we would have seen that sneaker ad. Unless the meeting was just a meeting and not a secured deal, which happens.
