somewhere out there right now is a kid with curly hair being raised by people who have wavy hair at best and those people are giving them 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and telling them to dry brush it. and that kid is gonna spend all of middle school and high school hating their hair and moping over the flat iron. they're being told right now that if they don't dry-brush their curl pattern into oblivion every morning it means they're unkempt and gross even though they naturally have the kind of ringlets that a thousand bridezillas would commit horrible murders for every june. it's happening right now it's an absolute epidemic and a tragedy every time

Grave offerings and burying the dead with tools and goods is actually such a deeply human thing to do. It's not really even necessarily about how much you believe in a literal afterlife or them taking the tools with them. It's also just going Wait, I'm Not Done Taking Care Of You, let me make you one more pair of socks so your feet won't be cold when you go wherever it is where I can't follow.

Botw is such an interesting take on post apocalypse, because it isn't really dystopian. It is a wound healed over, a world that has forgotten the end of itself, and in that, has begun anew. Grandparents whisper their nightmares into the wind, and smile at their kin. The garrisons that remain are sodden ashes in the dirt, a burial ground, and the most fertile soil for miles. You do not know the past that your body remembers. You do not know the voices that linger, and yet you follow. You follow, because the world has forgotten you, and you have nothing that is yours to remember.

for someone who claims to not have the original meme, their drawing seems oddly accurate. almost as if it’s traced from it and not drawn from memory 🤔🤔🤔

They really should patch that quirk in human psychology where you can get people with no strong opinions on a topic X to oppose it by showing them enough drawings of people displaying undesirable characteristics and a caption saying "I'm ugly, fat or otherwise undesirable and I fully support X".
The next level would be to get people to actually understand that even if it was true that most people who support X are unappealing in some harmless way, that says nothing about the validity of X in itself.
Of course the base level is already unrealistic enough and this last one is more useful to predict how idiots will act than it is to make them better people.
