It's only 12:38 pm but lesson of the day is already trust your intuition. I had a feeling that class was going to be too much for me and while I LOVE "Wild Thoughts" by Miss Ri Ri, that beat is a little too fast for a beginner like me who already struggles to walk in heels. For practice, best believe I'll be re-watching this reel. And hey maybe in a year I'll dance to this song in memory of this week/lesson.

Practice progress over perfection

Celebrate small wins

As someone who is trying to be a good role model I'm def embarrassed that I did a late cancel on a dance class I was hyped about 2 days ago. Even though I hate that I let my anxiety get to me, i'm proud of my response. I may have skipped class, but I didn't skip movement. After a little sulking, I whipped out the yoga mat, turned on some music, and found a beginner yoga video on my also moves app. I may not have the full confidence I want yet to go to the heels class but practicing yoga and flexibility will help build my confidence to rebook. So that's a small win I'll celebrate. Because a year ago? I would never. So better luck next time ;).

Happy love day!

Why I decided to start this today, I don't know, but here we are. I've had this idea of documenting myself becoming a mentor for a while and I think in the name of self-love I should be confident, take a risk, and do something that may benefit me in the future. That being said, I have until March 25th to get myself together. A little over a month...I should be able to do this! All I have left is a TB test and hope that this becomes more than just a checklist, but also a collection of the lessons I already know I'll get from these girls and this experience. I just hope I turn out to be a great mentor who my mentee can actually look up to. Or at least an OK one that's like a cool older sister. Or cousin. We'll see.
