“Ohh hehe be sure to pick the docile ones then. A few of them I know likes to chew on things and well they would chew on anything.” As if to demonstrate it, he picks up one of the shadows who were scurrying away from them. It started to squirm but as Shari picks up a piece of concrete...and the shadow latches onto it, chews it like it was a piece of gum.

“See? Haha... they are so cute.” He seems happy of the fact he was able to hold a conversation who has the same wavelength as him.

“Maybe I’ll borrow a few, could use more cushions around the house honestly.” Umbra spoke with a laugh. Admittedly he was enjoying the shadow talk, it had been far too long.

“Ehhh? Really? What did you mean by close? Like ties to the investigation? If that's what you mean, that is some serious allegations. Still haven't we established so far there is only one suspect who has the motive and ties to the victim, but unfortunately they have a rock solid alibi.”

While this revelation should have disturb him he couldn’t be bother to feel anxious about it. After all, he’s not the one being locked up if the game had ended prematurely.

      Watching Adachi, Naoto couldn’t help but be suspicious of his actions. Something hadn’t been sitting right with her lately, and while she should have gone to the team with these assumptions … she didn’t want to raise any alarms when her hypothesis wasn’t solid.        ❝… It’s more-so a theory really. I’ve grown to believe the culprit may actually be someone much closer to the investigation than initially believed …❞

“Oh my...they really are a trusting bunch.” That’s a relief to hear, things were getting a little too close for comfort. “Training? Why on earth would they want to train for?” Did the kids really think of confronting them in the T.V world? While that thought does deserve some concern, even with the three of them couldn’t possibly defeat them...on numbers alone.

“Hmm...it’s too bad I couldn’t keep tabs on them on the other side. Have they ask you to join them in their exploits in that world?”

     She was quiet for a moment … unfortunately he was right. While she had to give off the illusion of a friendly aid to the Investigation Team, he still had to be the Adachi everyone knew. Unfair really, but at least at the station she could drop the charade.       Naoto followed his gaze to the desk with a nod. She wasn’t the only one spending ample time around the Investigation Team after all.       ❝If it’s any consolation, they’ve been eating up every bit of information I’ve been giving them. It should buy us some leisure. They don’t suspect anyone in particular at present and are more confused than anything. Most of the focus is based toward training which should be our only real concern right now so long as I keep posing questions.❞

“Haha how else will I show my fondness. Good or...else I’ll order a group of shadows to pile you up until you can’t move. Speaking of which, they act as excellent pillows.”

“Forceful, been a while since I saw you actually put effort into doing something~” Umbra replied teasingly. “But fine if that’s what the king wants.”

“Uhm....j-just give me a moment. ” Oh that’s intriguing, he returned the coffee tin back it its place and close the cupboard. The shadow was careful to mimic his host’s tone and speech.

“S-so...what’s this evidence you wanted an opinion on?”

      ❝Actually … I was hoping to speak with you for a moment Adachi-san. I wanted to get your take on some … recent clues we’ve uncovered. If you have the time of course.❞

“Hm? Me? Oh I am working quite hard you know.” He suppressed a scoff, Shirogane really has a way of words, that made her sound like he just send her to firing squad.

“Oh don’t worry so much about that, besides if I suddenly became hardworking someone might catch on or something. It’s best to let things run as usual around here. As long we do our part the worst will be behind us.” At this he glanced over to a a certain senior detective’s desk next to his.

“...I hope, I won’t lie this case is taking its toil on us. More so than usual.”

      ❝If only I could afford the luxury.❞ Arms crossed loosely over the Detective Prince’s chest. ❝You know … sometimes I don’t feel as though you take this seriously, and here I am putting my neck on the line to play babysitter.❞       Not that anyone held any suspicions at all, Naoto knew how to do a job like this practically effortlessly … although in this case it did get to be exhausting. Not that she’d admit it, especially now.

Nothing to see here, just.... replacing regular coffee with decaffeinated coffee. It’s not like anyone would taste the difference. Hearing someone walking into the room he glance at them before resuming his task.
