When my mother forgets a word, she is the queen of coming up with new words. Words that would take a third National Treasure movie to fully decipher. I was talking to her yesterday, and she said this: “You know the time for los jibbities is coming up. You must be so excited!” Oh, is it time for los jibbities already? I must have missed it on my calendar. Are we celebrating something? “Of course! We should all be celebrating, shouldn’t we?” OK, so los jibbities is a happy thing. It’s not like something is giving you the heebie-jeebies, which would have been my one and only guess. “Los heebie-jeebies? Now you’re making things up...and this is my show.” You’re right. The time for los jibbities is coming up. Is this a season? “Yes, the season for love. The season for pride.” OK, los jibbities. “Yeah, sound it out.” Los…jibbities. LGBTs! “Sí, mira cuz you’re gay!” “You couldn’t just say pride season? You couldn’t just… *laughs*

I still sometimes think about that time that dnd player Emily Axford jumped off an airship mid battle, used thorn whip on an enimy to pull him towards her off the side of the ship, and then misty stepped back onto the ship in one move, taking him out of the fight in one hit. Then she turned around to the ruler of hell chasing and gaining on them riding a flying hell stallion, and turned his horse into an evil dolphin, leaving him falling hundreds of feet to the ocean below, completely ending the fight and allowing them to escape.

This year, on the 31 March, we lost Gilbert Baker, gay artist and creator of the gay pride flag. Today we would celebrate his 66th birthday. Let’s remember him as the wonderful person he was.

So you can spend two hours writing and editing only to realise you're further away from the finish line than you thought you were when you started
