Loss of Net Neutrality
In a society where our online lives are rapidly changing on a daily basis, it is incredibly important to understand what is happening to our online lives as they directly affect our offline lives. Having protected privacy and constant autonomy over how we want to spend our time online is something that shouldn't be taken for granted. With net neutrality not being an established protection in our country anymore, staying vigilant as to how it is affecting the way we can consume and stay connected in our online worlds is imperative.
The loss of net neutrality is not something to be taken lightly. As the general public, it has become our responsibility to speak out about decisions made by the government that are inherently wrong, and this is one of them. You may be asking: who does this benefit? The big guys. Large corporations are under no obligation to care about the little guys anymore. They made this clear by ridding the country of net neutrality.

"If ISPs engage in the worst abuses, how will activists be able to fight oppression? What will happen to social movements like the Movement for Black Lives? How will the next disruptive technology, business or company emerge if ISPs let only incumbents succeed?"
Net neutrality is essential for more than just speedy video downloading. There will be censorship without net neutrality.
