PM Shehbaz Sharif to Make Major Announcement Soon
Lahore – Big news might be just around the corner! According to Punjab’s Information Minister Uzma Bukhari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is getting ready to share another major good news with the nation very soon.
Just after Eid-ul-Fitr, the Prime Minister had already announced a reduction in electricity prices—a much-needed relief during the hot summer months. Now, the government says more help is coming.
Government’s Focus: Relief, Stability, and Progress
In her recent press conference, Uzma Bukhari shared that the government is working hard to make life easier for people. She mentioned that convincing the IMF to agree with their recent plans was a big win. The electricity price cut is part of a larger effort to bring economic stability and reduce the financial burden on citizens.
She hinted that the next announcement from the Prime Minister could bring even more relief for the public—possibly in areas like jobs, health, or utility bills.
Ramzan Bazaars Helped Save Over Rs. 1 Billion
Uzma Bukhari also talked about how the Punjab government helped people during Ramzan. The Ramzan Sahulat Bazaars gave big discounts, saving the public over Rs. 1.11 billion! More than Rs. 3.57 billion worth of items were sold at discounted rates, and over 28,000 families got free home delivery of goods worth Rs. 30 million.
More Sahulat Bazaars & Solar Energy Coming Soon
The government plans to open 13 new Sahulat Bazaars by August 2025. Not only that, they’re going green—Rs. 690 million will be spent to shift existing markets to solar energy, making them more eco-friendly and cost-efficient.
Relief on Wheels: Mobile Service Centers Launching
A pilot project called "Sahulat on the Go" is also being launched. It will bring mobile relief services to 14 locations, making it easier for people in remote areas to access support.
Plus, the government has already created 100,000 new jobs through a Rs. 1 billion employment program—a strong step toward reducing unemployment.
Criticism of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government
While sharing her updates, Uzma Bukhari also raised serious concerns about the KP government. She mentioned issues of corruption, poor spending on healthcare, education, and infrastructure, and misuse of funds meant for pensions and religious institutions.
Focus on Cleanliness, Jobs, and Culture
Bukhari highlighted that the Punjab government ensured proper cleaning during Eid, made medicines available, and is actively working to offer more jobs. She also expressed concerns about the content in theatre shows and said new rules might be introduced soon to improve the cultural scene.
Final Thoughts
The government is clearly trying to make real improvements in people’s lives. With more public relief programs, job opportunities, and energy solutions, things are moving in a positive direction.
Now, all eyes are on the Prime Minister’s upcoming announcement, which many hope will bring more good news for the people of Pakistan.

How Can Pakistan Make Its Economy Better?
Pakistan’s economy is currently facing multiple challenges. From inflation to unemployment, and from trade deficits to public debt, the country needs urgent reforms. But what can Pakistan do to make its economy better? In this blog, we will explore practical steps and suggestions for improving Pakistan's economy, which can also have a positive impact on the lives of its citizens.
1. Boosting Exports to Improve Trade Balance
One of the most crucial steps for improving Pakistan's economy is increasing its exports. With a positive trade balance, Pakistan can reduce its reliance on foreign loans and decrease its trade deficit. Key export sectors such as textiles, agriculture, and electronics must be given special attention. Expanding Pakistan's global reach in these sectors will not only increase foreign exchange but also create job opportunities within the country.
2. Investing in Infrastructure and Technology
For Pakistan to become economically competitive, investing in infrastructure and technology is vital. Developing better roads, improving public transport, and expanding digital infrastructure will facilitate growth in all sectors, particularly in eCommerce, manufacturing, and services. The government should promote technological innovation and provide incentives for start-ups to thrive. This will help Pakistan compete in the global digital economy, creating new revenue streams.
3. Reforming the Tax System
A robust tax system can provide the government with the resources needed to fund infrastructure projects, education, and healthcare. Simplifying the tax system, ensuring proper collection, and eliminating corruption are critical in boosting the country’s fiscal health. Reforms that attract higher tax compliance will strengthen the economy and reduce the fiscal deficit.
4. Education and Skill Development
Investing in education and skill development is key to Pakistan’s long-term economic growth. With a large youth population, the country has a great opportunity to tap into its human capital. By providing high-quality education and vocational training, Pakistan can prepare its workforce for the challenges of a rapidly changing job market. Education reforms will also increase the employability of the youth, boosting economic productivity.
5. Promoting Investment in Agriculture
Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. However, it remains underdeveloped. Modernizing farming techniques, introducing sustainable practices, and improving access to markets can significantly boost agricultural productivity. The government should invest in water conservation technologies and provide subsidies for farmers to adopt modern methods. Sustainable agricultural growth will improve Pakistan’s food security and contribute to economic growth.
6. Encouraging Foreign Investment in Pakistan
Attracting foreign investment in Pakistan is critical for the country’s economic growth. By offering incentives to foreign investors, easing bureaucratic hurdles, and ensuring a stable economic environment, Pakistan can attract much-needed investment. Foreign direct investment (FDI) will not only inject capital into various sectors but also lead to job creation and technology transfer. It will help develop key industries, such as manufacturing, services, and infrastructure, providing long-term benefits for the economy. A well-planned strategy to attract FDI in Pakistan could be a game-changer in the country’s economic development.
7. Reducing Debt and Managing Public Finances
Pakistan’s high public debt is a significant obstacle to economic progress. To improve its fiscal situation, Pakistan needs to reduce borrowing, streamline government spending, and focus on debt management. This can be achieved by prioritizing essential sectors and cutting down on wasteful expenditures. Reducing debt will ease the financial burden on the government and allow more resources to be allocated to developmental projects.
8. Strengthening the Local Manufacturing Sector
To make Pakistan’s economy better, the local manufacturing sector needs to be revitalized. The government should offer subsidies and tax incentives to local manufacturers to help them scale production, improve product quality, and reduce dependence on imported goods. Strengthening the manufacturing sector will lead to more jobs, increased exports, and greater self-sufficiency for the country.
Conclusion
Improving Pakistan’s economy is a challenging task, but it is not impossible. By focusing on boosting exports, investing in infrastructure, reforming the tax system, promoting education and agriculture, encouraging foreign investment in Pakistan, and attracting FDI, Pakistan can set itself on a path to sustainable economic growth. With the right policies and strategic investments, Pakistan has the potential to overcome its economic challenges and improve the livelihoods of its citizens.
