Dragon
I was born in the year of the dragon.
I was born by the sea.
I was birthed by a being of fire.
I was born of water.
It is quite confusing to be a dragon.
Especially one from the sea.
Therefore,
It makes it quite confusing to be me.

Gillipollas
Bueno, insatisfecho. La polla exclama - ¡Yo soy él! Tu no eres.

The start
I have spent my whole life traveling, I was literally on a plane at least 20 times before my first birthday (my mom took advantage of me being free to fly).
As long as I have dreamed of seeing the world, I have been told to pick something safer. You would be surprised how much of a person can be destroyed by fear; the worst of it is, when the fear comes from outside, it seems to hold stronger.
I am not very good at picking the safe route, maybe because I’ve never found anything interesting by staying on the path well traveled.
The times I strayed away have been the times that I grew as a woman in ways I never could have without adversity or a change of space. Personal growth is a huge part of the story of World Meet Woman, however, I am going, to begin with how the idea started...
I graduated higschool at eighteen years old and set off with my best friend Lily to explore Europe: Spain, Italy, Greece, & the Netherlands. Our trip was badass. We had no big issues and adventured in places we had only dreamed of, met people who changed the way we saw the world, tried our luck with different cultures, fell in love with sceneries, wines, people. It was the experience I want for every young woman to close and begin the next chapter in life. A cheers to the growth.
Our first stop was Madrid. Being with people who know the city is what made me move to Spain; the real beauty of this place is what you won’t find on Google or the tourist maps. It’s the stone streets full alcohol and laughter at 4 in the morning. The people eager to know you everywhere you turn. Lunch with family in the late afternoon and a nap after, and joints and beers in a park until it’s time for dinner again.
Three days into our trip, my Spanish sister whom we were staying with, had an emergency in another city in Spain... I was worried we were going to have to navigate the rest of the trip alone.  Without even asking, her friends reached out to us and we ate, explored, drank, partied, smoked, and had a great time.
The spirit of world meet woman came from their open hearts.
Then the girls in Madrid passed me the phone number of me to someone who would show us around Naples, Italy when we got there. Because of them, we saw Napoli like locals; tried the best pizza, smoked great weed at the best view of the city, met amazing Italians with a hopeless romance you find only in movies, drove in a clown car in a city without traffic laws. We had fun, and while Naples is not the safest city in the world, it is true, it has a heart that I am grateful to have seen.
I think every city in the world has that heart - it is a matter of finding it. But I realized simultaneously, I could never have found so much beauty, in so many cities, without a friend. Partly because they will show you the best and most beautiful things about the place they call home. Partly because as a woman, being unsafe is a reality that affects everything, including where you travel and what you do when you are there.
WMW is simply about empowering women to live their lives.
My bias is traveling will change your life. My goal is every woman is guided by her free will. If her free will is to see the world, that is where we can help.

a description of WMW
World, meet Woman.
Out of concern for safety, many women avoid travel altogether. My goal is to create an online space for women to connect with other women around the world, allowing travelers to have a network of friends in every city they visit. As our platform continues to grow, so does the safety of female travelers all over. A foreign country doesn’t have to be so foreign! Women traveling can enjoy a local experience with their new friends abroad; while locals can enjoy the company of a friend from India or Ecuador, & explore the best parts of the place they call home!  World, meet Woman, encourage’s traveling among women, helps to form tight-knit, international, friendships, gives peace of mind to worried female travelers,  gives a local experience, and offers the chance to learn from one another! Lets see what the women of the world can do, together!
