Letter from Oleg Konstantinovich to Tatiana Konstantinovna, 1907
28th August 1907
Pavlovsk (Strelna)
Dear Tus!
Send me, please, a middling sized suitcase, if you have such a thing. I need to bring a couple of things with me to the [Cadets] Corps, and Sasa (ever the prig) maintains that mine is indecent.
Oleg.

It has been months and maybe years since I last tried to colourize an image... but here is Anastasia, the real actual Anastasia, I felt compelled to spend my time on after finding out yet another "Romanov Grand Duchess survived" fiction book is about to come out.
#lovely colorization!#though not sure how I feel about another 'romanov member survived' novel as I feel that dominates the amount of romanov fiction#there is at times#otma#anastasia nikolaevna

An extremely rare picture of the Chief of the Regiment, Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna. Apparently, it was filmed on July 11-13, 1909, after the appointment of Olga Nikolaevna as the Chief and the visit of the regiment, when the regimental uniform was presented to the Chef. It is worth paying attention to one interesting detail: Olga Nikolaevna has a cavalry saber on the waist suspension. This is the only picture where she poses with a cold weapon, and even in a cap, not in a hat. The photo was taken in Peterhof, where the regimental deputation was met. It can be assumed that this was the first fitting of the form, after the appointment of O.N. Chief of the 3rd Hussar of the Elisavetgrad Regiment.
