i knew nalu was infesting my psyche again when i started listening to music and thinking about them

id like to think that adventures of iris is a trilogy and each book dedication is different

book one says “to fairytail—my guild, my teammates, my family— thank you for helping me stand so tall. your love and loyalty has soaked me through the bone.”

book two says “to my spirits, my guidance on every dark path. for always being my true north.”

and then book three “to natsu: my home, my heart, my most beloved friend, and my greatest adventure. my soul is forever tied to yours.”

thinking about how nalu’s early dynamic was mostly focused on natsu helping lucy to find her place in the guild/the world…. wouldn’t it have been REALLY GOOD COHESIVE AND STORY TELLING if they reversed that trope during the finale/hyq and had natsu struggle with his position as a demon and question his place in the guild/friendships/society, with lucy being able to help him to see that “[he’s] still the same natsu [she’s] always known” …
