In a similar ballpark to all this, a bit of a system we have in terms of facing triggers in things like discord servers is
If it's a huge community server with like hundreds of people, you can only really ask for a small amount of triggers to be kept in mind. Usually very common things that already come with warnings and such but I've come across several servers that are well intentioned but try to make trigger lists of everyone's individual triggers, however obscure. When you've got hundreds of things like names, dates, colors, that's just not feasible to avoid in such a big space, although the triggers are still valid af!
In small groups with friends, or one on one conversations, you can have that personalization, you can have those extra cautions if you and the others are willing to work it out. If my partner told me they're triggered by mentions of, idk, lions or something, it's completely on me if I decide to bring up lions anyways.
Idk how to end this but I think about this a lot
Just a gentle reminder. Triggers don't have to make sense. If a thing isn't a trigger for you, and you say oh but it shouldn't be triggering to you because it's actually referring to x, y, z, take a moment and remember that triggers most commonly aren't rational. Sometimes even oblique references can be triggering because the part of the brain that's stuck in a trauma loop isn't rational. It's pure survival and instinct.
Just please be kind.

The World of Darkness Unofficial RP.
A beloved TTRPG setting brought to Discord roleplay, while maintaining a gothic punk aesthetic.
The World of Darkness is a well loved TTRPG setting, including games such as Vampire the Masquerade, Mage the Ascension, Werewolf the Apocalypse, and more.
A vast, expansive, modern world where belief and power rule. Kindred vampires sit in their darkened spires, ruling with a hidden power. Awakened mages debate paradigms, reality changing with their discussion. And Garou werewolves defend Gaia and her people from any possible threats.
An RP server with a focus on character development, humanity and lack thereof, and the changes the world can go through. Metaplot optional!
Urban fantasy, gothpunk, semi-literate and above.
## What we offer:
1. A 16+, LGBTQ friendly, community.
2. Pluralkit and Tupperbox support.
3. An easy-to-navigate server, with a roles section.
4. Character approval process, as well as non-canon spaces for any yet-to-be-approved character.
5. Positions for moderation open as the server expands.
6. A setting that's been around since the 90's, tried and tested, with more lore than you could imagine.
7. No set plot, allow your creativity to run wild within the setting

Mine argue about food and men. Also I can love your inner voices for them /silly
- Zephyr
I’m sorry I just don’t believe that most people have an inner voice in their head that speaks their thoughts for them. that sounds made up. why do you need a voice. just think in silence like a goat or a dog, it’s better that way

I am indeed a teen, but I've had syscourse bite my ass badly enough that I just. Politely partake, I don't act like an authority on the subject. And in turn? I get my thoughts (usually) respected. Which should be happening regardless of age.
Most of the big blogs are just teenagers with no support network whose only validation is their tumblr following, that's why they're so unwilling to respond reasonably to criticism

I'm just gonna say, as a system still unsure of what they want their recovery to look like, it'd be nice for people to acknowledge that the flexibility and variety of how functional multiplicity can look would apply to final fusion too.
I just woke up, dunno exactly how to explain, it's just like...it feels like functional multiplicity can be so personalized but everyone treats final fusion like a single experience (except for systems who... actually want or have achieve final fusion)

DID sucks because in the morning you think "maybe I'm actually normal and I should stop overanalyzing my experiences and just enjoy life" and in the evening you get possessed by the ghost of yourself from 2018

Looking at an old study about DID while also looking at a "DID faker" bingo card and I'm not even 3 full pages in and like half of these boxes are already ticked off, just goes to show how baseless most fakeclaiming shit is.
Like oh jeez those malicious uh. Patients from the 80s exploiting this disorder for. Uh. Internet clout /sarc

📢 Do any of your alters have accents/speak differently?
Oh definitely.
We have several alters with different accents than the body. We have a LOT of British parts, like Comet, Wilson, and all our introjects from The Beatles, The Who, and Queen. PLUS MORE (WHY SO MANY)
We have a part who has a Russian accent who's out very rarely.
Sienna has an accent from her source language, though The Hermit also has that accent for some reason.
Jamie and Eileen have Scottish accents
As for other kinds of differences in speaking, Ticking repeats words a lot and gets stuck on phrases, and while we don't have any parts that fully never talk, I'm pretty sure Jet and Storm WANT to give up on talking at some point.
And I guess this also counts- Devon swears a LOT, like enough that our partner says "if you want to call someone a bitch, you're probably Devon"

Yeah ACEs really helped us put things in a different perspective :)
Dropping a random discussion topic/thought here to see if it's anything. Personally we have a bad taste in our mouth every time we see the word "extreme" used to talk about dissociative disorders. For example "DID is an extreme disorder/Extreme trauma causes the splits/causes extreme dissociation "
Like I definitely see why someone would want to emphasize what an important topic dissociative disorders are but as a system who 1. Doesn't like their disorder being mystified by those without it 2. Struggles to see their trauma as "extreme" it feels...weird. both from people with and without CDDs.
But what about you? This could just be a niche opinion we have
- @endless-hourglass
Hmm…
For me, I don’t necessarily mind it, but I think that’s because I absolutely see my trauma as extreme, despite it not being “Big Capital T Trauma.” I view all trauma as extreme, or at least, extreme if the individual views it as such.
However, I think you’re right that it’s… unsettling, sometimes. I don’t think the word extreme needs as much weight on it that some people put to it. I think some folks like to turn it into a trauma Olympics thing.
I think, for me, viewing trauma as all extreme helps when I’m demystifying it. “All trauma is an extreme, because it’s not supposed to happen. DID is one of the more rare trauma-based disorders, but it has presentations similar to PTSD, for instance — both are extreme trauma-based disorders that greatly impact lives, but the symptoms can be managed with hard work.”
It’s an interesting topic.

Y'know what? That makes a lot of sense!
Yeah for us it definitely makes us uneasy because our mind connects it to trauma Olympics. We don't see our trauma as "extreme" because a lot of it was low-key or the kind of stuff no one talks about, so we always take "extreme trauma" as trying to refer to. Idk. News-worthy CSA cases, straight-foward physical abuse, the sort of things you see spread around for shock because we know that's what comes to a lot of peoples mind.
We never realized it could be considered extreme just. Because It Happened.
We just have...a lot of issues with thinking people think we're faking, or thinking we didn't go through things bad enough for DID (which I know tons of people experience, we ain't special lol) so we get this kind of kneejerk reaction, as if we're being "excluded" when we aren't. Really.
Like we said, it's kind of just a pet peeve, but still thanks for answering
