hello good to see this project is still ongoing that's a lot of stuff!!! is this fangame intending to be longer than the main game?
Yes, we are intending for Rewind to be longer than END ROLL. While it lacks the battle mechanic/grinding aspect of the original game, we have planned many mandatory and optional events to play through instead!

I know that you've stated various times before that this project is on hiatus, however those were all answered in 2023 - It's 2025 now, and you never said anything in 2024, so I have but one question: IS THIS STILL BEING WORKED ON??? PLEASEEE SAY YESSS, I've made a tumblr account solely for this question.. (and you also seem to have good sprites and a decent amount of work done from what it looks like, so if it is cancelled then can you PLEASE release what you have? 👉👈)
Hi! Although it's been a long time, and admittedly the project has been put on the backburner, Rewind has still been on our minds.
As of right now, we still intend to finish. In the unlikely event that we decide to cancel, we'll probably share the incomplete demo and all our assets to the public. It's been a multi-year endeavor, and it'd be a shame to let it go to waste. Right now the game has:
60+ rooms (maps/areas/levels) finished and implemented in the demo
70+ songs in the soundtrack (not including variants. This includes the entire soundtrack, not the demo-only music)
A ton of other sprites, charts, animations, and concepts that are and aren't included in the demo
As it is, the demo has been mostly complete for a while… we mostly need to draw a few more rooms, finish some character sprites, and implement various planned events.
The project as a whole is more difficult to estimate. A bulk of the work will already have been presented in the demo, through character and environmental sprites. There's a lot more left to do, though we have also worked ahead, writing events and creating assets for things that will not appear in the demo. The demo takes place over a month, and the full game takes place over eleven, but the full game isn't 11 times the work of the demo!
Once we're able to allocate more time to Rewind again, we're also likely not to post public previews as much, so that we can focus on working on the game. There's a lot we haven't shown yet as well. We'd really like to present everything in their intended context, if possible.
Thank you for your patience! We're sorry it's been taking so long, with life and other things getting in the way. But we still hold a lot of love for this project.

Would it be possible to / is there a way to join the rewind team? (I can do pixel art and some level of story writing, but mostly the former)
As of right now, we'd prefer to keep our team as small as possible, but may be open to recruiting more people after the release of the demo. If you're willing to contact us off anon then, we will consider it! We'll take into account whether or not we know of you beforehand, along with your skill set and experience.

Hey are you guys still active? Just checking up since it's been a while
Locket: We are essentially on hiatus at the moment, unfortunately 😔 Rest assured we've not forgotten the project, but we've also been quite busy with life and other things.
Shroomy: Sorry for the indefinite wait, we will try to return to making consistent progress on the project, but right now that isn't possible for us. However, we will try to chip away at whatever we can when we can.

Hi! We are not dead! Just busy and in development hell. ✨
We've been quiet on social media in favor of focusing on our personal lives and Rewind's development. When we return to activity you will see a few more previews and responses from us. (And the last two music polls.) Thank you to everyone that sent us asks, messages or tagged us. Even if we haven't responded yet, we both notice and greatly appreciate it. And thank you everyone for your patience!

I played End Roll at 2020, and accidentaly found this blog. Y-you're making a fan made game of End Roll ? and from your description, is it the other ending where Russel is alive? So you also think that Russel didn't deserve the canon ending? (I do believe).
Ow whatever the answer is, I'm eager to play this game, and excited to wait. I even turned on the notification. Good luckk, I know you all can do this. I hope it goes wellll
-Confrontation, Darcover Town BGM Fans
-Also big fans of Tabasa and Dogma >.<
Locket: Hello! Yes, Rewind is a fangame.
Shroomy: It explores Russell's daily life prior to the experiment!
Locket: You can read more about it on our about page. Thank you for wishing us good luck! We're very excited too!

With the cancellation of further segawa game translations, do you think there’s a chance there will be a forced cancellation of Rewind? Or, after the initial permission, is this game in no way connected to Segawa?
Shroomy: After the initial permission Rewind doesn't really have anything to do with Segawa other than being a fangame for their game.
Locket: We haven't been asked to cancel anything. We certainly hope we won't be!

Hello, is this game still being developed?
Locket: If you asked us this on April Fools', we could have said no! (Yes, we're still working on it.)

Hello! It has been some time since our last preview post, so we wanted to give all of you an update.
Development is still underway. Pixel art is the bulk of our workflow. I have also been working on fixing bugs, adding events, implementing assets, non-pixel art content, and doing general backwork. Shroomy is continuing to work on concept art, map layouts, and character design. Bug fixes specifically have been going well thanks to the efforts of Fleur, Pine, and our newest beta tester, Needle!
In terms of demo release, we are mainly finishing more overworld maps and NPC sprites. Shroomy has recently started to help me with this, mainly through overworld sprites of their NPC designs. (Thank you Shroomy. ❤️) On top of this, we have been taking adequate breaks to avoid burnout and preserve the quality of our work.
Pixel art is the main limiting factor to our progress speed. Because pixel art is also what makes most of our previews, we have slowed down in posting those. Rest assured, a lot of the completed content has yet to be revealed, as we feel it would be better experienced during gameplay.
Thank you for your patience. We hope to deliver Rewind to you in good time!
