Back to the Future I am a big fan of Back to the Future movies. Not crazy but, I liked them a lot. Since I moved to California from Spain I've seen multiple Delorians. But never one like this from Friday. Seriously, it even had the "OUTATIME" license plate!!

When a year and a half ago I got two new iPhone 5 for Kelly and Me, we decided to keep our old iPhone 4 for the kids. We could have sell them for $200 a piece, but having something to keep our kids away from our new iPhone 5 did sound a better idea. It actually worked pretty well. Maui's iPhone phone lasted her only about six months, when she brought it to me saying the screen was "icky". Somehow, she had shattered the glass. We decided to put it away (still fully functional but with a broken screen) and since then, both kids played only with the remaining one. And when I say played, I do not mean just video games. Xavi and Maui both loved recording videos of themselves and taking pictures of lots of things. It was also a good tool for drawing, etc. The remaining one lasted way longer, until a month ago when one of the kids forgot it outside, under the rain, completely under water and mud. We tried the rice bag, the 2hr warming in the oven. But it was dead. I was looking for someone to fix the screen on the first one when, thanks to my friends I came to the idea that u could not just fix the glass (which is a pain), but replace the whole display module. So I got the tools and decided to give it a try. First I would disassemble the dead phone (the one with water damage) and put the screen aside. Then I would disassemble the one with the broken screen. After a couple of hours of fun and a bit of frustration (took me a bit to get the 6 screws with washers in) I had a working iPhone fully functional and with an almost brand-new screen. Finally I assembled the other one, both with water damage (I assume the main board) and the broken screen. Plugged it in, in case a miracle was about to happen, but no, it was still dead. So, after one year and a half with two kids (3.75 and 5.5 years old today) we still have one completely functional iPhone. I think it has worked out well :)
