you just completely missed the point, moron. i have 0 issue with people calling themselves queer. just like i have 0 issue with people calling themselves dykes. but i DO have an issue with people calling all lgbt people queer, as not everyone identifies as queer.

Stop screaming about how ‘queer is a slur’ every time someone says ‘I like being queer’ or ‘I id as queer’ or ‘let people id as queer’.

We fucking know. All our words are slurs. Lesbian started as a slur. Gay started as a slur. Bisexual started as a psychological disorder, same with transgender. All our words have bad starts, the point in us using them was to reforge their sword into our armour.

i love them dearly but peppermint, jiggly, gia, monica, etc... they are no longer drag queens. they are women. peppermint was not a drag queen on the show. she was a woman. their performances may be billed as drag shows, but ultimately they r not drag queens and stopped being drag queens the moment they began identifying and experiencing gender as a woman. drag is a form of male protest and is not for ANY woman to take.

the actual he used was maybe wrong but the core message he gave is completely right. trans women have a place in the drag community as do cis women and so does everyone, as fans supporters friends etc, but we are not and will never be drag queens.

drag is a specifically male thing –> subverting ideas of masc and fem standards (esp gay men) and is a deeply historical thing. trans n cis women doing ‘drag’ is women performing hyper femininity. still subversive but NOT DRAG!!! the definition of “drag queen” is “a man who ostentatiously dresses up in women’s clothes” so if you’re no longer a man or never were a man then how can you do drag?

the HISTORY and MEANING of drag extends beyond rpdr and beyond exagerated eyeliner and contour. it is a form of GAY MALE PROTEST! 

and for yall saying “but paris is burning” pre transition trans women being w drag queens and being in their community because its the 80s and the lgbt community had few divisions and gay men and trans women r a historically close community =/= trans women being drag queens

ANYWAY yall act like 'drag queen’ is just anyone who performs hyper femininity and does ott makeup and not a historical and real way of gay men experiencing gender and a way of exploring their extremely marginalized status!! women DONT HAVE THAT SAME EXPERIENCE, TRANS OR CIS!!!
