“you didn’t choose the cougar life, it chose you,” he grinned.

scoffing, you shoved your boyfriend away, rolling your eyes at the words he chose to ‘comfort’ you. but as you tried to turn to the opposite end of the couch, riki grabbed your wrist, forcing you to stay next to him.

“you suck at comforting people,” you frowned.

his head tilted ever so slightly, smiling a little less than before as he rested an open arm behind your shoulders. “yeah, it’s not one of my strong suits.”

“i just…” you trailed off, contemplating how to properly express your feelings without inviting insecurity. eyes darting to the wall behind riki in avoidance and your tongue going dry, you sighed in defeat. “you don’t think i’m…weird?”

“no,” riki said. but he mulled over your question for a second more. “well…you’re definitely weird, but not just because you’re a cougar.”

jaw unhinging, you stared at him, trying to come up with some witty comeback to save you from your boyfriend’s merciless teasing. “well at least i don’t have 11-year-olds that want to date me.”

riki’s smile dropped, his eyes creasing with disgust as he suddenly pulled away from your personal bubble. he said nothing as he scooted away.

you huffed out a breath, nudging his knee with a foot before saying, “sorry, i know that’s a sensitive topic for you.”

when his gaze snapped toward yours, eyes narrowed, you couldn’t help but foster a grin in satisfaction.

“it’s not a sensitive topic for me,” riki said, each word dripping with disgust. “it’s just incredibly uncomfortable to be aware of. you’d feel the same way if it was you.”

“oh, yeah, sure,” you nodded, sarcasm lacing your tone as you grabbed his hand and wrapped his arm around your shoulders, back to where it had been previous of his fit. “but let’s not dwell on the amount of little girls that have a crush on you. especially when you have a perfectly mature and grown one your age right here on your couch.”

riki breathed heavily through his nose, pulling you closer and pressing his mouth to your temple. “of course, my love.”

9:41PM — “jagi, are you sleepy yet?” jungwon whispers, head against your chest as the promised neverland plays softly on your tv in front of you.

you tap your phone curiously at his question, brows furrowing at the early time displayed on your screen. “it’s only like, 10pm, wonnie.”

your boyfriend peers up at you grumpily, large cat eyes nearly impossible to refuse. “i know, but i’m really really getting sleepy, y/n,” he continues to complain, wiggling around like a toddler.

snickering at his tired antics, you reach for the remote to turn off the anime, watching from your peripheral vision as jungwon grins happily at your inability to tell him ‘no’.

only a minute or two later, you find yourself hopping into bed, jungwon following close behind from his side of the mattress while eliciting a silent yawn. once you’re both securely settled in the sheets, you quickly lift an arm to turn off your lamp, embracing the pitch black darkness that follows suit.

at this point, normally you’d wrap your arms around the boy, leave a few gentle pecks down the back of his head and neck before murmuring out a ‘goodnight’ and ‘sleep well’. but you’re shocked to say the least when you feel jungwon push you over to face away from him, a lazy arm pulling your back right up against his chest while the other lays above your head on the pillow protectively.

“what- what are you doing?” you inquire, rendered speechless. his heart beat is surprisingly calm and relaxed, opposing your unsteady one at the close yet unusual contact of the male. it was practically an unspoken rule that you were supposed to hold him in bed, not the other way around!

jungwon giggles, dragging you impossibly closer and snuggling his face into your hair. “i felt like trying out big spoon tonight,” he explains cutely.

“oh? and what’s your opinion thus far?”

“i get the appeal,” he instantly admits. “i have so much power! i can change positions and cuddle you however i want and there’s nothing you can do about it~” you can nearly envision the cat boy’s snarky, teasing expression at that moment, sighing as a larger leg raises on top of yours, effectively trapping you in place like a snake to its prey.

your boyfriend may look weak and small compared to some of his weightlifting bandmates, but there was no doubt in his strength at times like these. “ah, this is seriously perfect,” jungwon groans in satisfaction.

you fake a dramatic huff, “yeah, for you, idiot. i’m practically immobile over here.” little did he know you that you were busy smiling like an idiot, thanking the overwhelming darkness for hiding your ears and cheeks growing warmer by the minute.

“yoi, don’t pretend you aren’t loving this.”

perhaps you’d allow jungwon to take charge of cuddling more often.

the ‘yoi’ is supposed to be that thing wonnie always does irl 😭 i just didn’t know how i should spell it jshsj

ahhh hiiiiii!! I saw that requests were open?? If possibleeee, can I request a jungwon oneshot where you are jungwon’s long term girlfriend but also part of their staff and while on tour, Jungwon (and enhypen ofc) go on stage to perform, but you end up passing out from overworking because you were so busy with preparing everything and you were too busy to eat or something?

ahhh talk about a run on sentence 😂 also sorry, I am totally awful at explaining, which is really bad as a writer, but right now i can’t think of words 🤪 if you can’t get to this, it’s completely alright! you are free to add or take away anything you would like. whatever is easier ^^

📁 … !? pairing. idol!jungwon x staff member!fem!reader | wc. 0.7k | genre. slight angst, fluff | requested? yes | warnings. mentions of overworking, fainting, i have no clue how medical stuff works lol | note. this was very tough to write, but i hope i did anon's request justice !

he was gorgeous. even sweating, out of breath, and completely engrossed in his performance, jungwon never failed to leave you mesmerized by his mere existence. 

blinking back the tired burning that stung your eyes, you leaned against one of the cushioned chairs as you watched his group on the screen, a proud smile pulling at your cheeks. both you and he had prepared heavily for the new comeback, and now that it was finally being brought to fruition, it meant promotions were at an all-time high. and that everyone was working overtime. everyone.

someone called your name, their tone clipped, and compelled your gaze away from the monitor. “yes?”

“please make yourself useful and go find more waters and towels—they’re in the dressing room. the members will be done with their performances shortly,” your boss said, running a hand through her hair as she addressed you.

nodding quickly, you turned, headache beginning to bloom in the center of your forehead. you rubbed the spot soothingly as you willed yourself to focus on the task at hand. find water and towels, then i can sit down for a quick second.

you hastily searched for what you were looking for, finding the cooler that had been pushed to the back of one of the rooms. sighing heavily, you reached down to grab it, relieved that it was no larger than a medium-sized box. however, as you lifted the blue-lined tub, black sparked the edge of your vision, head spirling with dizziness. you had no choice but to drop the cooler and hunch over it, palms braced on the white lid.

blinking rapidly, you gulped down heavy breaths of air, easing yourself up. one more time. you licked your lips as you bent your knees and picked up the cooler again. but as you attempted to lock your knees, they buckled instead, and you felt the foreign feeling of lightheadedness followed by spiking black.

“what happened?”

jungwon’s voice was the first thing to slice through the silence. he and his members huddled in the doorway of the small infirmary room, a nurse and other staff trying to usher them away (with little success).

eyes fluttering at the bright white ceiling lights, you raised a shaky hand, rubbing your right eye as you tried to sit up. your movement alerted the woman fiddling with a monitor on your left.

“woah, sweetie, take it slow. lay back down,” she said gently, pressing her hand on your shoulder. “you hit your head pretty hard and you’re very dehydrated.”

you groaned, trying to push her arm away. “i don’t…where am i? what happened?” looking toward the door, you locked eyes with jungwon, whose face instantly flushed with more worry. the questions just continued to pile, your face scrunching with confusion. what happened?

the nurse next to you soothed your arm, shushing you and guiding you to her front. her touch was comforting as she said, “you fainted; your blood sugar was incredibly low. we gave you some-”

“why can’t they come in?” you interrupted, still staring blankly at jungwon, who now had jay clinging to his arm and telling him we have to go, they won’t let you in.

the woman sighed, stepping away from you and leaning to the side. she said the other nurse’s name. “let him in.”

jungwon visibly sagged at her words, and he shoved jay away as he made his way into the room, eyes set solely on you. he put on a reassuring smile and reached for your hand as the other people in the room turned to find something to do. “hi.”

“hi,” you breathed, weakly patting the empty space next to yourself, noting the way sweat still clung to his forehead. “you look tired.”

“me?!” his brows furrowed as he took a seat. “you passed out in one of the dressing rooms, baby. had me and the others worried when you didn’t greet us after our stage.”

you squeezed his fingers with your own. “i’m sorry. i don’t know…i don’t know what happened. one second i was fine and now i’m here.”

jungwon looked at you skeptically, sighing as he pulled you forward. he rested his chin on your shoulder as he said, “you’re overworking yourself. every time i try and comment on it, you brush me off. you go hours, almost days, without eating or sleeping.”

thumbing his shirt, you whispered, “so do you.” “not as bad as you, though,” he said, palms brushing up and down your back gently. there was a beat of silence before he continued. “just promise me you’ll work on taking care of yourself from now on, yeah?” he pulled back, pressing his pink lips to your hairline and chuckling. “i already have six other kids to worry about, my love.”

opening your eyes to the bright sun shining through the windows of the bedroom, you squinted, looking around at your surroundings before noticing riki lying asleep beside you. he looked so peaceful, head laying relaxed on his pillow, turned to face you subconsciously.

you admired his features, from the way his hair was dishevelled and bangs hung over his eyes, to the point of his nose and shape of his lips, all the way down to the moles that marked his chin and neck.

the golden sunlight emphasised his already angelic glow, making you think, how could a night’s sleep leave one looking so effortlessly stunning in the morning?
