6:27am ➪ the sun peeks from the horizon, sky glowing a beautiful gradient of blue and orange. waves crash calmly against the shore, the soft rustling of dancing palm trees amplifying the call of morning birds.

you walk along the waterfront with boyfriend!sunoo, hands entwined as you take in the beauty of the peaceful world before you. it is a perfect mood for deep conversations, something you needed after facing a stress-induced week.

staying financially stable is a problem you’ve never encountered before. ever since your mother left you for her new man, all kinds of difficulties attacked you unaware. sunoo offered you a hand multiple times before, but you knew you shouldn’t be too dependent, not after you were left by the person you depended on the most.

it’s the first break you received from part-time jobs, and sunoo asked you if you’d like to spend the holiday together. as you withdraw back to your mat and belongings, your conversations slowly digress to a mellow peak.

“dreams are windows to our unconscious life,” he lets out, staring at the movement of sand when he kicks it. “they access our innermost desires.”

a chuckle leaves you as you recall a dream from yesterday. “i dreamt of a fish leaving money where it swims. i followed it and took all of the money. does that mean i want to become rich?”

“maybe?” he chortles at you, crescent moons shining in his eyes, a charm of his that you immediately fell for and always gave you strength. a moment of silence looms over you before he looks up speaks up again. “i dreamt of our graves next to each other,” he stops right in time as you arrive at your starting place, and he shifts his gaze to you, taking both of your hands and rubbing his thumbs over them. “i want to stay with you forever.”

a smile slithers to your lips, heart beating faster than the speed of light. warmth spread in your heart. his presence alone makes it feel like you were never alone, and you love it all the more when he expresses the amount of love he has for you. without a second thought, you climb to your toes to reach a kiss on his cheek, catching him off guard when you see his eyes grow wide, ears heated pink.

“then stay with me forever.”

a giddy smile is all it took him to look down to your lips, slowly moving forward as he plants a soft kiss.

“gladly.”
