Having attended Björk’s virtual reality exposition Björk Digital twice (once in London, once in Iceland) we were yet again perplexed by the video for The Gate, believing she could not excel her work done for the magnificent Vulnicura. Paired with frequent collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang she makes The Gate come alive - originally an open chest wound (as spotted on the artwork for Vulnicura) from her breakup with now ex-boyfriend Matthew Barney, the gaping hole now serves as a literal gate for love flowing freely through it. Absolutely breathtaking… The Gate is taken from her forthcoming record Utopia, which is out in November and was co-produced by Arca.
