practices the rpc needs to Collectively Get Back Into:

commenting on peoples’ posts, threads, art, graphics, etc. just telling them that you see it and that it looks good / is entertaining / etc.  –  because content creators can’t read your mind and  as nice as it’d be for us to always serve ourselves with our work  …  realistically we will lose motivation to continue creating without some kind of support.  if you like something then say so !!

sending each other’s muses messages about muses they’re talking to or characters from their canon and just generally getting actively involved in the narratives other people create  &  encouraging those people to discuss them

asking people random questions about their characters without fear that it’s too outlandish, provided the question isn’t invasive or rude

sending honest, heartfelt notes of positivity and making loveposts about other creators and the work they do.  not chainmail, not lazy generic shit, but real kindness, in our Own Words

drawing people fanart of their characters / ships / OCs !!  please !!  really !!  i don’t know when that  EVER  became something people grew too nervous to do !!  most people  ADORE  it.  even if it’s just fucking stick figures, man, i  PROMISE  you that taking the time and putting in the effort to show someone that the work they do inspired the work you do will make their whole fucking day

madeline in her early years had a real problem understanding that the world works differently than she does because she died with a specific young mindset and that's something quite hard to change when vampires are essentially immortal screenshots of when they died, it had to be rammed down her throat for her to understand that just because she is what she appears to be, it doesn't mean that everything else follows her intricate little rule and she kept believing in appearances and had a hard time dissociating from that idea; if she is genuine and presents herself as she is, why would others do any different? i think it's one of the many reasons why she was horrified when she found out only too late that jonkoping was essentially a vampire city and they didn't present themselves as such, it looked human and she judged it human without stress. i think she had quite a hard time understanding the masquerade as well and was only able to accept the concept when she realized it was a matter of pure practical survival in a human world. the masquerade is her first act of dissimulation and she dislikes it but accepts its relevance.

mercy  womack:      beast,      femi’s  callous  older  sister,      the  opposite  of  her  sister  in  the  sense  that  she  takes  the  form  of  a  leviathan.      mercy  found  out  about  her  nature  when  studying  to  become  a  marine  biologist,      pratically  femi’s  mother,      overprotective,      will  kill  and  die  to  ensure  that  her  little  sister  is  successful  in  everything  she  does,      which  included  helping  her  accept  her  bestial  nature.      femi  owes  mercy  absolutely  everything.

nadia  pravda-milgram:      ester’s  adoptive  daughter  and  apprentice  in  the  craft  at  the  same  time,      a  verbena  mage  with  a  knack  for  the  spiritual,      spends  a  good  portion  of  her  time  in  the  umbra  working  with  the  spirits  of  nature.      nadia  was  the  first  one  to  recognize  the  mark  of  lilith  in  her  mother  and  ever  since  then,      she  has  been  filled  with  fear  and  reverence  for  her,      which  put  a  strain  in  their  relationship,      with  nadia  being  unable  to  treat  her  as  something  other  than  archmage  and  master.

gideon  sharpe:      fiamma’s  bratty  grandnephew  and  childe,      truly  a  disgraceful  ventrue  attwhore,      the  absolute  epitome  of  entitled  and  explosive  preppy  boy,      cutthroat  little  bitch  although  one  hell  of  a  journalist.      had  the  nerve  to  storm  into  fiamma’s  office  one  day  at  age  15  daring  to  blackmail  her  in  order  to  be  given  a  position  of  power  in  her  company,      hasn’t  stopped  getting  his  ass  thoroughly  whooped  ever  since.      by  the  time  she  agrees  to  embrace  him,      he’s  become  a  decent  person  and  sees  her  as  both  a  mother  and  father  figure.

porthos  fitz-empress:      one  of  the  oldest  and  most  powerful  hermetic  archmages  alive,      deacon  primus  of  doissetep  and  honestly,      an  all-around  weird  super  chaotic  disheveled  dad  figure.      will  attempt  to  father  you  if  you’re  not  on  your  guard  around  him,      stay  smart.      all  in  all,      an  extremely  helpful  and  intelligent  man  with  a  tendency  to  ramble  a  lot  and  become  rather  expansive  in  his  lectures  about  his  experiences.
