How would you feel if Hiro died instead Tadashi in that scene, but imagine what his future would probably been.

I would be devastated as I was with Tadashi’s death, and a little disturbed because Disney just killed off a little kid in a seriously painful way.

I think the movie would take a darker route if Hiro’s the one who died instead. His dead would have impacted Tadashi way more. I believe worse than what Hiro went through in the movie. 

Because Hiro was Tadashi’s life. His little brother is the reason why he became the perfect big brother/role model that we all love. He was obsessively overprotective of Hiro all the time and made sure to keep track of him with his mini GPS.

Now take it all away, right in front of his eyes.

Tadashi would probably go through severe psychological trauma. He’ll breakdown and spiral into depression, even go as far as deny Hiro is dead and maybe wander around the city with his GPS tracker hoping against every hope that he’ll see the familiar beep. He’ll lash out to his friend and Aunt Cass in anger and grief, deny that they can help him in any way because the only way he’ll feel better is by having Hiro back. He’ll skip college, probably never go there because it reminds him about Hiro’s death so that place is like a trigger to him.

And when Tadashi finds out it was Callaghan’s fault, he’ll feel betrayed, hurt and extremely angry because this man was like a father figure to him; someone he looked up to and trusted. Tadashi will probably lose it, snap and kill him. 

Also let’s not forget, Hiro had Tadashi to look up to when he was grieving his death. Tadashi was the reason Hiro never gave up and kept going with his life.

But Tadashi has no one, he’d lose the sense of “never giving up on anything” because to him, what’s the point? He’d have no one to pull him through his grief. No Baymax videos of Hiro or anything like that to give him solace
