bby i wanna know where you're from now bc as a south african i always do a double take when someone mentions rooibos tea because i feel like it's not widely known or used outside of the south african culture, so you had me like 👀?

all jokes aside, rooibos & honey are like actual medicine against allergies/colds/flu so i hope it works it's magical stuff for you! <3

lol i’m american actually! just southern/appalachian, we’re known for natural remedies! i honestly never even knew it was primarily a south african thing—my granny used to always have some at her house and it just stuck with me!

coming from both sides of my family, i learned a lot of natural remedies—i’m a mix of ulster scot and west african so when we all ended up here (scot’s from the famine, west african’s from the slave trade) we had to find things that worked for our sensitive bodies! i come from a long line of people that had to suffer through a lot, so now my modern body is always on high alert!

i find especially now that i’m older i need to lean on the things my granny’s and my pa taught me. it’s a bit harder now since i’ve lost my pa and one of my granny’s BUT, i still have all the knowledge they gave me :)

and yeah rooibos is a literal life saver! i cannot tell you how many times it’s saved me from the brink of allergy-induced haze lol! also if you have muscle pain, a southern trick for it is to grab some strong isopropyl alcohol and rub it where you’re hurting—my pa used to do that for me when i was little :)

idk why people make seasonal allergies out to be some cutesy “haha i’m sneezing and got a runny nose” bc mine is just a histamine overload that wakes me up, makes my body feel like it’s on fire, fucks with my vision, and gives me the shivers
