I'll be real. The Dunmeshi fandom has a TERF problem.

Or at the very least, it has a problem of good-intentioned people reblogging terf rhetoric without giving it much thought.

Now, someone posting 'It's a shame how mlm content is more prevalent than wlw content in fandom, and that female characters keep getting overshadowed by male characters, and we need to analyze our internalized biases against women when engaging with fiction' is completely a-ok! I completely agree with this sentiment! However, stuff like 'mlm shippers only care about porn and don't even bother to analyse the characters they ship, meanwhile they overlook wlw ships with way more nuance, character, and depth' is terf shit! I'm sorry! We need to be able to spot 'men are inherently more sexual and disgusting than us pure women' out in the wild!

And no, I'm not just making people up to get mad at. There's a reason the people posting about the 'disgusting people sexualizing the female characters' have reccomended blogs that look like this.

Controversial take but a lot of times people write labru in a way where their dynamic is literally just laios/shuro but they're not brave enough to ship laios/shuro. Like 'oh laios really likes this guy and on the outside the guy is acting nice but on the inside he wants to kill him' that's just laios and shuro. That's their dynamic. Embrace it. Please. I don't wanna be the only person shipping this. Please

One of my favorite things about the shapeshifter arc is how Laios' copies are by far the most accurate when it comes to the characters appearances, but he's not that great at remembering details in their clothes. Even though his were some of the first to be caught, when it comes to their faces and mannerisms they're the most accurate. I think the fact that the other's copies were so influenced by their own ideas of what elves/dwarves/halffoots should be kinda shows that Laios sees people as they are, without taking in the larger baggage of preconceived notions surrounding their races, which ties into Laios coming off as a bit clueless when it comes to unspoken social rules I think. What do y'all think

do the people who think thistle has mentally remained a child for 1000 years also apply that to everyone else in the golden kingdom? a whole country of 12 year olds running entire industries? Is that guy who's been brewing wine for centuries also a child? What do they think of Yaad helping Laios run the new kingdom? I'm just tired of all the infantilization towards Thistle man- he's far smarter and more capable than people give him credit for and its such a shame

I get the frustration of wlw being less popular than mlm in fandom but if you start parroting radfem talking points and going on the whole 'men are disgusting plus those yaoi shippers only think about SEX instead of the NARRATIVE' tirades I'm stealing something out of your house!!!

Kabru isn't magically immune to having racist beliefs just because he's brown. He's also not immune from it just because he's kind to kuro and speaks his language. In fact, I think it's even more important to analyse how even Kabru, the character who's shown to be the most understanding and compassionate to kobolds, still holds some negative biases that managed to slip in regardless.
