I can't stop thinking about them, so woe, StarOp shipping manifesto be upon you.
Part of the appeal is obvious, I mean my god, give Starscream a happy ending one time, challenge level: impossible. Take the abused feral cat and give him to the person with the most capacity for kindness, let Starscream be validated one time and watch him unravel. Yes. But I have a pathological need to go deeper. I'm not here to fix Starscream, I'm here for him to make Optimus worse.
Because let's be real Optimus is so messed up. He's riddled with guilt, he's crushed by the weight of leadership, he feels every single mistake and death he caused (or believes he caused). He sees exile or death as his only way out, and that's usually exactly what he gets. Sacrifice, death, resurrection, death again.
Both Starscream and Optimus are stuck in these horrible cycles of abuse and martyrdom and to me, the ship is about releasing both of them from those cycles.
With Starscream, he sees power as his only road to safety/security/control over his own life, but he also sees violence and cruelty as the only ways to assert power because that's the only way power was ever asserted over him (hi Megatron). So he perpetuates this cycle and pays the price for it, but what if someone showed him that power can be kind and gentle? Who embodies that more than Optimus? Who has created an entire base of support around people who love him rather than fear him. Just the idea of someone touching Starscream without the intent to hurt or control is probably so foreign, but it's possible and Optimus is the guy for that.
And Optimus, the chronic martyr. Throw him at the guy who literally refuses to die. Even death can't kill Starscream. He's a cockroach. He has such disdain for authority. He'll treat Optimus like just any other mech out of sheer stubbornness and that's exactly what poor OP needs. Someone who can let him exist free of his burdens, who can give this man some goddamn will to live.
Moreover, loving Starscream is a selfish act for Optimus, there's really no scenario where it isn't. It's something that goes against the image of what he's "supposed" to be, loving someone so irredeemable, who has hurt the Autobots so badly. But how healing would it be for Optimus to have something that's just his own? Independent of his role as God's Chosen Special Guy, he gets a relationship independent of (and really in spite of) the job thrust upon him.
Both Optimus and Starscream struggle under the weight of leadership at different points in their many, many narratives and they each need what the other has. Optimus needs Starscream's selfishness and sense of self-preservation, Starscream needs Optimus' capacity for trust and understanding. They're not fixing each other, they're not making each other worse, they're making each other more whole, breaking the cycle, uniting two very different but necessary approaches to power. They're escaping their ordained narrative downfalls. Free my man from the samsara!
And I think they should kiss about that. Like a lot.

Finally watched the Well and honestly I love the 15th Doctor and will be very sad if he doesn't get another season. I know people complain about his tears and I sort of get it. If tears are common then they lose their impact. But I feel like that's the point of 15. The tears do lose their impact because he cries almost every episode. And for someone like me who is so teary, I would absolutely cry after every one of my people die, I feel like the Doctor is just like me. What's wrong with tears losing their impact, I'm so confused about that? Like this Doctor is more tearful, what's wrong with that? He shows more of his sadness but for some people like me, that's a normal state of living. And it's frustrating that some people act like it's so unusual and abnormal.
Belinda was the best, as usual. Asking all the right questions. I know I shouldn't but I like her so much more than Ruby Tuesday. Next episode has Ruby in it and ugh, I'm dreading it. Trying to have an open mind but it's hard. I can't think of a more boring companion than Ruby.

People are annoying but that's so okay. Please continue being annoying and taking up space. That's being human and just like in the Sims, not everyone is going to like you all the time, even after they begin to love you. And you aren't going to like your partner all the time. That is so okay and people need to play the Sims more to realize it. You are going to have weird conversation with your loved ones that are going to turn sour. That is so normal.

I wish I could tell people they are cute in the most asexual way possible. Like a cute picture I see of a tiny turtle or puppy. People are adorable with their cute personalities and ways of speaking. Most people are sooooo cute and I want them to know it. Like you are adorable and what you say and the way you say it are so you. I love people who are just themselves because I struggle so much with just being myself.

During the Classic Doctor Who story 'Planet of Fire', the Master declares "you won't show mercy to your own..." But never finishes the sentence.
According to Anthony Ainley, the script read "brother", but he refused to say it, believing the relationship should remain ambiguous.
While there are conflicting accounts, Ainley himself insisted that he never filmed any version in which he says the full quote, nor does any edit exist.

Spy Master and Missy would get on like a house on fire (multiple fires they would set together) and no one can convince me otherwise. I can imagine them having such a sibling relationship maybe a bit self-cestuous since they both have that coy flirtatiousness.
They would get along right up until they tried to murder each other, as is traditional of the Master.

Yes. But I think it makes the moments when they pop up again and the Doctor's like "who can this possibly be!?" even sweeter.
do u guys think the master is sick and tired of the doctor constantly announcing him dead when he is very much Not .

Do you have an account on TV Tropes?
Hello! I do not have one. I have a reddit and an AO3 account.
Is there a reason to get one? I've been on tvtropes especially for backroom stuff but haven't really explored it much beyond that.

Honestly, 15 creeped me out at the end of the first episode. All that 'we are fated' and 'it's destiny' felt really bad after Belinda just got rid of Alan.
I hated how he kept trying to force intimacy with her by calling her Bel and stuff. He was pushy with Ruby too, I remember. But the Doctor's always been like this to some extent, but usually companions don't mind too much.
I do like it though and I do like the way 15 is being written much better than last season. There's something so shallow about the way he acts, but it feels intentional. I like this after therapy, now we can highlight the Doctor's flaws and being pushy and generally not caring about or assuming the consent of others for stuff he thinks is innocuous or 'they would have said yes anyway,' has always been his way of doing things.
Belinda is the companion I've been waiting for. Someone to offer conflict in their dynamic with the Doctor.
Also that polish polish robot does not at all make up for the cat they killed in the beginning of the episode. 😭 It's not cute enough by far. Animal death, in my Doctor Who? More likely than you think!

Given the state of google search, I never want to hear someone say "just google it" to a complicated issue again.

I'm worried that by the end of this, Belinda will be like "Oh I loved my travels with you you are the best, Doctor. I love you!" I don't want that. I want her to hate her time with him. I want her to be all "no Doctor this was awful I never wanted this and I never want to see you again." I want the Doctor taken down a peg because he is flying high right now, and he needs to be brought back down to earth. I want it to be sad, and I want it to hurt, and I want the Doctor to learn a lesson because not everyone can fall in love with the Doctor and enjoy their travels. There has got to be at least one bad experience. I don't know, I'm weird, but I think Doctor Who is at its best when it's punching you in the gut.

sometimes I wonder why y'all are obsessed with specific characters and I'm like "why them" but then I remember that sometimes its literally not your choice you just look at them wrong and all of a sudden they're taking up your every thought forever
