In the forgotten garden tucked behind the bunker, the night breeze carried a refreshing chill. Dean twirled his sparkler, crafting odd loops and intricate figures in the air, sending sparks dancing. Castiel simply cherished this rare moment, observing his cherished human, finally at peace after what felt like an eternity.

It's DCBB season again!! I was so luckily paired with @seidenapfel (who is also my partner for Dadstiel this year) and this so sweet fix-it of Season 10!

This image jumped into my mind immediately when I saw the fic and I made it in 2 or 3 days haha (so sad I was really busy this DCBB season) it was so hard to make things visible when everything is so dark but I kinda love how the color and light turned out in the end :D

The Beginning

It is the beginning of everything, it is the epic moment of two worlds connecting, it's the start of a a new life... haha I have been wanting to draw demon!Dean x Angel!Cas for so long and I knew I must draw this one as soon as I saw the draft 🤣 But I cannot actually form a good enough image in my mind and I changed the sketch and pose several times 😶 I am still not satisfied with the result but the no more time so 😶 (and I hope it survives 🤞)

Healing

I love the moment Dean touches Cas' wings and their daughter's grace heals it immediately when I saw it - I always want Cas' wings restored and their daughter healing it is perfect. Strong light in a dark environment is still so difficult for me 😥 (the entire image is still too dark I guess) but I don't have much time to adjust it 😥

To my Author, fellow artist, and mods

I am so happy to be paired with seidenapfel again :D She is also my author for the Dadstiel bang this year hahah we were still working on the dadstiel piece when DCBB claiming happened. When the pairing result was released shortly after the claiming began she messaged me immediately and I couldn't believe the luck 🤣 I was quite busy in the past few months and she was supportive and encouraging as always :D And the story is a so sweet and warm altered version of S10 which gives me everything I wanted :D Please go give it a read if it's your thing!

I didn't have much online time but I sneaked peeks here and there at other participants' art and they are all so amazing! So happy to join this event with so many talented artists :D Ah also I got so many helpful suggestions for my banner!

And I want to say thank you to all Mods! The mods team is as reliable and responsive as always and thank you so much for running such a great event every year!

Summary:

Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 1995. After being stowed with their Uncle Bobby for the foreseeable future, Dean and Sam set out to make the most of their summer ‘vacation’. When they aren’t filling warm afternoons splashing in the creek, riding their bicycles, or suffering through old TV reruns, they’re in for cleanup duty.  Namely, sorting through all of Bobby’s old crap. 

One day, while rummaging through the long-forgotten attic, Sam discovers an antique spirit board and convinces a skeptical Dean to try summoning a spirit. The results of which turn out to be a little more supernatural than Dean bargained for.

I picked this scene when I read the fic for the first time. It reminds me of the first meet between Dean and Cas in the show so much and I just cannot let it go - the collision of two worlds. I still didn't get the effect of sparkles right but thank this fic for giving me a chance to draw it!

I want to say thank you to my author kingdumbass! I still haven't seen the full fic yet, but the part I have read is very beautiful and nostalgic. I am so looking forward to the full work! Also thank them for organizing such a great bang for horror stories :D

I had several sketches for the banner and all of them are Dean and wolf!Cas snuggling together haha Just cannot let go the idea of holding a big fluffy warm wolf :D My author chose this one and I love

hmmm 😏 You know what is under the censor mask :D

The wolf is sooo challenging (never really drew any animal before 😭) and it is even more challenging to make them *connected* :D but with some handwavy change of anatomy I kind of made it work.... 😏

Bad Moon Rising

But events conspire against Dean and by the time he gets home the sun has set and Cas has Changed and broken out of the house in search of his mate.

Desperate to get Cas home before the Lycan Task Force catches him and locks him up, Dean comes up with a plan: Dean wants Cas to come home.

Cas wants Dean.

If Dean runs, Cas will chase him.

But can Dean handle what will happen if Cas catches him?

Preview: “Cas?” Dean cupped his hands around his mouth, sucked in a deep breath, and yelled. “CAS!”

Somewhere deep in the forest, a wolf howled in response.

Dean spun, trying to determine which direction the howl came from. He cupped his hands around his mouth again and howled back then waited, ears straining to pick up any sound of movements from the dark forest around him. He slowly slipped the tranq gun from where he had shoved it in the waistband of his pants and held it low and ready. One dart would do fuck all to put Cas down, and Cas would give him endless shit for shooting him, but if Dean couldn’t reason with Cas, couldn’t convince him to come home, then it might buy him a few seconds to come up with plan C.

What he’d do with those few seconds, he didn’t know.

There came a crashing sound off to Dean’s right. Something large was moving through the underbrush towards him, and Dean felt his heart skip a beat.

A large black wolf stalked into the clearing, and even as Dean’s instincts told him to run, even as the adrenaline pumped through his body at the sight of the predator, another part of Dean relaxed.

Cas.

I suddenly don't know how to do color (no I never know how to color actually) and the coloring of these two is sooooo bad but I have no time to fix them 😭 Also don't ask me what the backgrounds are I have no idea 😭

Anyway, I made it :D(Due to historical reasons I won't celebrate tmw so I post them today)
