Who says healthy living is hard? Here are a few simple steps to lead a balanced lifestyle!

Step 1: Moderation
You’ve probably heard it before from your mum or your grandmother.
The secret lies in the ‘M’ word—moderation.
The average person’s daily calorie intake of between 1,800 to 2,200 calories a day may sound like a lot, but considering how a plate of your favourite char kway teow racks up about 700 calories, it’s easy to see how quickly you can go overboard.  
And cutting out certain food groups isn’t the best or healthiest solution either. If you find yourself swinging from abstaining to bingeing, a better and healthier approach is to try and have small quantities of the treat foods you love occasionally.
Step 2: Move
Just small increments in the volume of physical activity is associated with better health outcomes. Start by making small but significant adjustments to your daily routine—take the stairs instead of the escalator, stand instead of sit during your morning commutes, go for a walk after a meal, etc.
Why is movement so important for an active lifestyle you ask? Well for starters…
It makes you stronger. Winded from climbing up a flight of stairs? A month of going up the stairs instead of using the escalator will see an improvement in strength and stamina. Step that up to a month on the treadmill and you’ll be able to see a significant difference in your strength and stamina.
You sleep better. That’s right. Regular exercise helps you fall asleep more efficiently with less chance of an interrupted rest.
It improves your overall mood. An hour long session at the gym can cause your body to release
chemicals called endorphins which stimulates the brain, making you feel good, while you work to look good.
The human body was never meant to be still. If you want to look good, feel more energised, and live a better quality of life, just move.
Step 3: Rest
Adequate rest is an essential part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Getting anything less than your required seven hours a night can undoubtedly take its toll over time. Your body needs sleep to recuperate and being well-rested not only makes you feel better; it safeguards you against a long list of chronic health problems.
Sleep also plays a major role in learning and memory. People who are sleep depraved often have trouble focusing. It can even hinder creativity and increases your levels of stress.
Remember, all this can be prevented as long as you give yourself sufficient time to siesta. Easy.
Step 4: Repeat
Staying consistent with your routine is essential to making any successful change happen. But like all good habits worth instilling, that’s easier said than done.
The hardest part is always getting started.
Effort + Time = Results
The effort you put in now will pay off over time. It’s important to stay motivated during those first few weeks of getting into the swing of things. By starting out slow and giving yourself enough time to adjust, you build momentum towards that goal.

As most of you know we have decided to take some time off after a year straight of touring. We finished up Mayhem and after a brief stint in Japan we wanted to shut it down for a while. There was only one problem, some of our most passionate fans in the world reside in South East Asia and we never made it over to them on this tour. In fact Indonesia hasn’t seen A7X in action in about 5 years. So we owe it to all of our friends in that part of the world to come by and say hi before we start work on other Avenged Sevenfold projects.
