the way that there are definitely 100% heterosexual cisgender men who'd be exclusive bottoms and women who'd be exclusive tops if the culture around sex wasn't "man = top, woman = bottom" fucks me up whenever i think about it.

if you're a cis straight person reading this and sex has always felt like A Task To Complete or has felt awful and painful emotionally for you; you don't have to exist within this obligatory sexual binary. you can have sex in ways that feel safe and affirming and not in the way that you're "supposed to". it will be difficult but i know you can do it.

BBC On Gaza-Israel: One Story, Double Standards

The most comprehensive analysis of the BBC’s coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza reveals a systematic pattern: the minimisation of Palestinian suffering and perspectives and the amplification of Israeli narratives, victimisation and emotive stories. The study, conducted by the Centre for Media Monitoring, analysed 3,873 articles and 32,092 broadcast segments from 7 October 2023 to 6 October 2024, alongside comparative analysis of 7,748 articles on the Ukraine conflict. During the analysis period, 42,010 Palestinians and 1,246 Israelis were killed – a 34:1 ratio that provides crucial context for assessing the impartiality of the BBC’s coverage. It also used extensive case studies extending into 2025. The report reveals a systematic omission of key historical and contemporary context that has acquired an institutional quality at the BBC. Whether this be overlooking the genocidal rhetoric of Israeli leaders – now referenced in war crimes charges against them – or properly scrutinising Israeli claims and denials in the face of ethnic cleansing and other war crimes, the BBC have simply underreported what is now overwhelmingly being seen as a ‘live-streamed genocide’ and crimes against humanity.

🚨flour is scarce, and hunger is gnawing at my children's stomachs. 🚨‼️

We either die of hunger or bombing

For months, my family and I haven't tasted any fresh vegetables or meat. Obtaining bread has become an impossible task. Hunger has reached the point where we've been forced to sell some of our personal and household belongings, which we acquired after our house was completely demolished, to raise money for our basic needs amid the skyrocketing prices of flour and other scarce goods available in the markets.

The severe restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the entry of humanitarian aid and commercial goods have led to the depletion of everything in the markets and the rise in prices. As a result, famine has "eaten" our bodies. Due to the intense hunger, we eat flour that is infested with weevils and insects.

Our children need milk,Pampers،food،basic needs🙏🏻

It's my city! It was fully with life until the butchers passed through it! Since the beginning of the massacres, I've been struggling to save myself and my family.

Before the outbreak of war, my family and I had a comfortable life in our beautiful home filled with cherished memories. However, since the conflict began, our lives have been turned upside down. We now find ourselves living in a small tent, exposed to the harsh elements and constant threat of violence.

👉Our house was bombed in the 2008 escalation and we built it, and also in the 2014 escalation the house was destroyed again and we rebuilt it, and in this 2023/2024 war the house was also destroyed.

Every time we start again, the Israeli occupation destroys us again

Life is unbearable. It has become hell for us. destruction, no education, no future

We can't stand it anymore

The situation here is dire. Food and basic necessities are scarce, and famine and malnutrition have become rampant. Our lives are hanging by a thread, and we fear for the safety and well-being of our children every single day.

The cost of living here has become extremely high. All of our resources are going towards securing food and trying to escape from disaster, desperately seeking a lifeline.

We are yearning to escape this nightmare and rebuild our lives in a safe place.

However, the cost of traveling to a safer area was beyond our means.

Each ticket cost $5000 per person,

a sum that was impossible for us to bear. Now, the border crossing is closed, and things continue to worsen.

We want to collect donations to leave Gaza if the crossing opens

every so often the discourse comes around again that basically boils down to “is it feminist for a woman to want men to be attracted to her” and it’s like. no, it’s not. it’s also not anti feminist. it’s not relevant. it’s nothing. a woman wanting to have sex with men has nothing to do with feminism. being a lesbian or celibate is not “more feminist” than being a straight woman. the point was always “women should not have to dress in a way that is attractive to men solely in order to be acknowledged by them at all” not “women should never dress in a way that is attractive to men for any reason.” sometimes a woman wants men to want to have sex with her. that’s not anti feminist. that’s average. it’s also not feminist just because it’s her choice to do it. it is not related. feminism is about women’s human rights. that doesn’t mean it’s a feminist act every time a woman makes a choice.

I am making this post on behalf of a trans woman named Magala (@lovelyimuhshin) currently living in Gorom refugee camp, South Sudan.

She has been organizing aid for a group of transgender and other queer refugees who have been under constant threat of violence on top of the dangers inherent to life as a refugee. Some members of the group also suffer from health conditions such as HIV and cancer.
