Waston finale finale:
-Once again I am dumbfounded how this show managed to make Randall Park boring and uncharming. Randall Park is never those things! And it's not his fault! His lines are horrible and they had no idea what to do with that character!
-I think overall the finale brought out the worst in this show. I have loved it and stuck by it more than is reasonable but wow I felt myself physically wincing every time the shoehorned in a reference to Sherlock, for starters. I kept wanting to yell "these people have never met that person!! Who cares?!?" Could you imagine if your boss constantly talked about someone you've never met?? And this show just investing in the wrong relationships, not really knowing what its identity is, making the safe and obvious and tired choices, confusing pacing...
-I didn't care that much about Ingrid through the series but I think I ultimately became an Ingrid girlie. Eve Harlow acted her butt off in every scene and I think did a great job really converting the pain, conflict, and regret she felt in the end. She's kind of the only character I have any real curiosity about.
-Stephens has been my favorite the whole series because I have loved a hot nerd in glasses ever since Billy the Blue Power Ranger (my first love). But the fast-forwarded relationship with Sasha bores me and ultimately I cared about his relationship with Adam much more. I wish the last episode had 10x more Stephens and Adam moments. They're brothers and they almost died!! I want to know everything about them!
-Speaking of Adam, hopefully the one good thing that comes from StephensxSasha is that Adam and Lauren no longer have to say "We dated the same person/I dated you both!" next season. I swear that was half their dialogue this season good lord.
-I could see Lauren and Adam not working out next season. We need angst to come from somewhere. Ingrid can't carry all the angst (but I'm sure will have to).
-The push and pull of not knowing if Ingrid defected and her ultimately working for the team was well executed. And killing off Moriarty was a surprise but felt like such an absolute waste. But I'm glad Randall Park can put this in his rearview. Poor Randall Park.
-I wish they pretended even for one moment that Mary had 10,000 other things to do than hang out at the Holmes Clinic all day. I loved her as a member of the team. I'd just also love for one of her other colleagues to be like hello?? You have an entire hospital to run??
This show was objectively not good but I still loved it so much. Pure delicious nonsense junk food. It's going to be hard to wait for it to come back.
-I'm glad Shinwell is sticking around even though he's basically a cartoon character. He and Sasha ultimately give the show heart.
-They'll probably move on to a new Big Bad but it's hard not to think that Moriarty isn't over. I wonder if Moriarty was not actually Moriarty but just a pawn pretending to be him. My partner suggested maybe the pediatric oncologist is Moriarty (or the next Big Bad), which could be interesting.

Live shot of me watching episode 12:
Some thoughts:
-This was by far the best episode this season. All the emotional beats were knocked out of the park.
-I thought this was Moriarty's best showing so far—he actually felt a sufficiently off-kilter and menacing in the scene with Ingrid near the beginning—but it still feels so needless. We really haven't had any reason to care about what Moriarty is doing and why this season. Someone on Reddit said something like, if he's so smart why is he fucking with this tiny group of people and not stealing the secret recipe to Coca Cola or something? Why not do literally anything else if you're a criminal mastermind? I think that's largely how I feel after this episode. It's not enough just to know he's the arch nemesis from all the other Sherlock media. We needed more of the Why this season.
-I don't think they'll kill either twin. Somehow, I think they'll both survive. If they do kill a twin, I think Stephens will be the survivor. BUT, I actually think it would be way more interesting if Adam is the survivor. I think the show invested more time in developing Stephens as a character this season so we'd get more attached. Losing him would therefore sting more. And while either twin would have immense survivors guilt, given the relapse from this episode I think S2 would focus on Adam feeling like he didn't deserve to have lived, maybe everything would severely impact things with Lauren, Sasha would be devastated...the angst potential is immense!! But I just don't think this dum dum show is going to kill either of them. If anyone, Shinwell is probably not making out of S1 alive.
-I believe in Ingrid. I am here for Ingrid. I am not giving up on Ingrid.

Croft twin headcanons.
Stephens played tennis in high school/college (recreationally), Adam played baseball in high school.
Adam has a tattoo of the Dave Matthews Band dancer, which he only like 25% regrets. His favorite band now is The National.
Adam has been in a dozen different bands since middle school. He took a gap year after college to tour the US before starting had school. His bandmates didn't understand how he could crash at 4AM but be up by 9, hungover and studying.
Even when they were at their most estranged the boys would watch basketball together semi regularly.
They loved Toonami on cartoon Network as kids.
Adam majored in theology in undergrad, before becoming interested in medicine. He still talks about studying abroad in India.
They have horrible seasonal allergies. They are severely lactose intolerant.
Stephens loves plants. Has 20 different kinds in his apartment and has meticulous water, humidity, and lighting schedules for them. They all have names and vintage pots, which he gets from regularly going to flea/vintage markets. Lauren hated their names ("That one in the corner is looking a little sad." "Greg?" "I don't know, that one.") but now thinks about them fondly.
Stephens was given a journal for his 15th birthday and had journaled every day since.
Stephens has been (secretly) riding the hallyu wave since before it was cool in the US. He does his best work listening to 2NE1 and BOA. Only Lauren knows about this. It's the one thing about him she hasn't told Adam.
Stephens is a great cook. His carbonara is a thing of beauty. Adam became a pandemic baker. He mills his own flour.
Stephens is great at drawing. He only uses pencils and charcoal.
They both love hiking but Stephens goes more regularly. He loves hiking alone but hiking with Adam has always been his favorite thing.

I know the Crofts said they used to each wear the same Halloween costume to fool people into thinking they were the same person but you know there was a year when they were young when Adam begged Stephens to wear one of those two-person horse costumes and Stephens has still never quite forgiven him for having to be the butt.

I just saw the previews for episode 12 and
wowowowowow feelings feelings feelings feelings. I want to talk about the dinner scene for a thousand years. But also the other one made me so sad, my boys are about to go *through* it.
I'm a little annoyed there appears to be a spoiler for how some of this may shake out in a very early show trailer posted on the Watson Instagram. But still a lot to untangle.

My unfounded suspicion is they are running the dating app thing into the ground because Stephens is going to somehow end up "matching" with/dating either the henchperson who is working with Shinwell or a henchperson yet to be revealed, so Moriarty had more than one person to manipulate on the team. And Stephens is too much of a sad wet cat boy (who I deeply cherish and, mind you) not to face more torture on this show. He's perfect and I only want good things for him but also he's so good at being sad!
But also Sasha/Ingrid though.
I don't know why this dumb dumb show has made me start being someone who posts but here we are.

In my headcanon, the two new Pittsburgh-based medical shows—The Pitt and CBS's Watson—are happening in the same hospital at the same time.
In one corner we have a guy trying to run an ER with a level of sad, soft dad energy that would say "hold my beer" to Pedro Pascal and it's gritty and real and sad and beautiful and compassionate and FINE FUCKING ART.
And across the hall we have Morris Chestnut in a stunning designer suit running around with Laszlo Cravensworth in his head going "GoOd JoB wAtSoN yOu'Re My bEsT fRiEnD, mY pAl, My HoMeBoY, mY rOtTeN sOlDiEr, My SwEeT cHeEsE, mY gOoD tImE bOy!" while his gaggle of hot fellows work 9-5 even though they have INPATIENTS THAT NEED CARE.
One of these shows is Sarma and one of these shows is Taco Bell and I love them both equally and to an extent that is making me unwell.
