Coffee Farmers and COVID-19
As a fair trade coffee company committed to supporting the farming communities we purchase from, it’s our duty and mission to ask “how can we help?” - even when our own business faces strain and loss in the face of this global crisis. The first and best way to help is to continue to promote and sell fair trade, organic coffee. By paying farmers a higher price than the fairtrade minimum, supporting farmers’ organic practices, and strengthening long-term partnerships, we are helping to secure a future beyond COVID-19. Coffee for a Cause” is a campaign that raises money for a charity or cause whose mission we believe in. It’s simple: for each cause-focused coffee released in the series, we donate $5 of every bag sold, to the preselected charity. During the campaign, customers are also welcome to top up their donation at the cafés and online.

Where does coffee come from and how does that impact the flavour?
Spring marks the return of our nitro cold-brew coffee, the go-to drink at coffee shops when temperatures start to climb. Equator’s cold brew is crafted at our own roastery and served from nitro taps, giving your glass of cold brew that distinguishable creamy head and dark, rich body, resembles a pint of Guinness. Cold brew coffee is delectably creamy, smooth, and sweeter than hot brewed coffee, making this drink a favourite in the summertime. In this blog post, you will learn what exactly makes cold brew cold brew, how that differs from other iced coffee drinks, and why the love we put into brewing it each week makes it so special.
