Personally, if I was Zuko in ATLA, if Jet was to accuse me of being a firebender (which would be true) in front of a tea shop full of people, I would IMMEDIATELY go the misinformation route. No questions, I would just start lying. “What do you mean, ‘I’m a fire bender’? I have a burn scar. Firebenders are immune to fire.” Straight up lying. Untruths would spill out of my mouth like a fountain. The best thing is none of the citizens of Ba Sing Se would know any better. They’ve never met a firebender before (unless they were a refugee, but even then, probably not common to see a firebender be burnt, so point still stands), so how would they know I’m lying? Jet would be seething.

the problem with the upcoming book, the hybrid prince, is that I read a flame x umber fanfic centered around growth and healing and therapy and I love that fix so much but I have to set aside my biases and have to give Umber’s actual love interest a chance. But how can you when you grew so attached to a fanmade ship for the past several years now?? Like I’m sorry Mulberry I’m sure you’ll be an okay love interest but you can’t beat the 40 chapter therapy fic that I read when I was like 14.
