You Were Always Magic have been out for two months! She's even ended up in a bookstore!
If you end up in Sturgeon Bay, WI for whatever reason, go check out the Novel Bay Bookstore! It's lovely little spot with a great selection of local and independent authors.

Alright....put down anything else you're reading and please pick up Hench from Natalie Zina Walschots. I'm mad that I've only just discovered it, but pleased that I'll only have to wait a year until the sequel comes out.
Do you like a villain origin story? Do you like superhero tropes being turned on their head? An angry protagonist that gets to fuck some shit up? Then read this yesterday.
I plowed through this over the course of an afternoon and an evening. I physically could not put it down. I want to read it again as soon as possible. Can't recommend it enough.

We love a productive reading week! And I hit my reading goal for the year!
Despite promising myself I wouldn't buy anymore books until I've actually read some of my recent purchases, I ended up picking up a few in the last two weeks.
Gwen & Art Are Not In Love is set in an England where King Arthur actually existed and has a cult built around his mythos. The two main characters are begrudgingly betrothed and have their eye on someone else. They decide to try to act like they're happy about the match while pursuing their different love interests. Throw in a tournament and some court intrigue, and I had a solid time with it.
All the Hidden Paths is the sequel to A Strange and Stubborn Endurance, which was a favorite of mine from last year. The story picks up shortly after the first book and deals with grief, healing from trauma, and trust. It also has a perfect 'oh' moment that made me smile. I cannot recommend these books enough. Go read them immediately.
Kiss Her Once for Me has been on my radar since last year, but for whatever reason I didn't get around to reading it until just yesterday. I plowed through it because it was a delight. I've only just been dipping my toe into romance recently, and I'll be jumping fully into the pool because of this book. Plays out exactly as a rom-com should, and it definitely made me get misty a few times. Great read for the holiday season.

Is there anything harder than trying to figure out what books to bring on a weekend away?

Just finished reading Malice by Heather Walter, and god damn was that ending just perfect. I'm pumped to read the next book. Nothing makes me happier than when a character who is pushed and pushed and pushed is finally just like, hey, guess what? Now this is happening. Great stuff.

An Excerpt and A Recipe

Jo Phines is content. At least, that's what she's telling herself. After ruining a friendship asking for more, Jo is fine with hiding in her bakery this winter. She'll test new recipes and cater the odd luncheon for the local witch coven. She's lonely, but she's fine. Really, she is.
That all changes when her estranged niece calls.
Lisa Graves cannot see happiness in the future her parents have planned for her. After an argument, Lisa finds herself without a place to stay. Lacking other options, she reaches out to Jo, who offers her a room for the winter. Lisa heads to Door County, Wisconsin, hoping for a chance to fix the mess she has made of her life. She doesn't expect to have the existence of magic confirmed on the journey, nor did she expect to meet the witch who broke her aunt's heart.
The quiet winter Lisa and Jo were hoping for just got a whole lot more interesting.
You Were Always Magic is a story of self discovery, the family you choose, and the magic of a well-baked pastry.
Releasing December 5th, You Were Always Magic will be available for order from your favorite bookstore and Amazon.
Kindle Pre-Orders are available here.

Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreons for June! A cozy scene from Legends & Lattes (by @travis_baldree), featuring Viv and Tandri trying out Thimble's scrumptious Cinnamon Roll! If you missed it, reading this book for this SAW prompted me to make my own Cinnamon Rolls from scratch (for research, of course!) I have a highlight of these shenanigans on my Instagram. 馃槀 Are we excited for the Bookshops & Bonedust prequel? 馃敟
