Sinigang by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran:
Moral Values and its Impact on 21st Century Learners
Tumblr media
Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour and savoury taste. It is most often associated with tamarind, although it can use other sour fruits and leaves as the souring agent. It is one of the more popular dishes in Filipino cuisine.
The story Sinigang by Marie Villaceran is all about the girl named Liza who deals with the issue of her father who had an affair with other woman named Sylvia and having a son, Lem, Liza's stepbrother. The story takes place when Liza was preparing the sinigang for dinner together with her Tita Loleng.
Moral Lesson of the Story
Ask for forgiveness if you commit a mistake
Everyone makes mistakes and there arr things and times that we do not know that we are doing something bad to other people. There are some people who themselves are the ones who get angry and deny that they did something wrong. So if we have a sin or shortcoming in other person it is better for us to admit our mistakes and ask for forgiveness.
Forgive the one who commits a mistake
Sometimes it is very difficult to forgive someone especially when it hurts us so much. No one is perfect so just in case someone else makes mistakes and offends us, we must learn to forgive. Move forward immediately and it would be better if we just immediately forget the mistake they made.
Never cheat
There are some people we immediately give our trust to them. Especially if we are already committed on someone, cheating will never be ok and it is a serious sin. If we commit to someone, let us give all we can and never look for someone. It is a person's choice if he or she cheats, but it is always difficult to forgive this mistake. The trust of others will not be easily restored if you just destroyed it.
This story teaches me as a student we can also learn to forgive and the person who made a mistake to us especially if it is part or our family. We must also ask for forgiveness if we commit a mistake to other people. We always think about what might be the result of the things we do.

Literature is an art that reflects the works of imagination, aesthetics and creative writing which are distinguished for the beauty of style or expression. It is a total of preserved writings belonging to a given language or people. And these literary pieces has evolved significantly over the centuries.
Creating this blog, as a student learning the different genres of literature, I am going to elaborate three important literary works and determine the similarities and differences of Graphic novels, Manga and Doodle Fictions.
Graphic Novel
A graphic novel is a narrative work in which the story is conveyed to the reader using comic form. The term is employed in a broad manner, encompassing non-fiction works and thematically linked short stories as well as fictional stories across a number of genres. Example of this are 'Your Black Friend' by Ben Passmore and 'Saga' by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples.

Doodle Fiction
It is a literary piece where in there are doodles and graphics, that are made by hand added to the text. This drawings enhance the story, often adding humorous elements that would be missing if the illustration were omitted. An example of this is 'Diary of A Wimpy Kid Series' by Jeff Kinney.

DIFFERENCES
(in Terms of Structure)
Both Manga and Graphic Novel are in a comic book style but they do have structural differences in terms of their text, language and their formality. Manga are read from right to left while graphic novel cam be read from left to right. On the other hand, doodle fiction follow a novel type of narration and show both text and picture while comic book style do not.
(in Terms of Elements)
Differences among these three genres can be seen mainly in their type of narration and art style. Since manga came from Japan, it has its own style and reflects the culture and tradition of its country of origin. Meanwhile, doodle fictions uses handwritten elements in drawing and writing text. Finally, in illustrating the story, graphic novels use a very western or Americanized style and can be read from left to right.
