This is the daily norm in hundreds of kill shelters across the country, from Cali, Texas, NY, Miami, and everywhere in between. #adoptdontshop isn't just a trendy hashtag. When you 'buy' a dog, you fund breeders that feed into the overpopulation that spawns an enormous kill crisis. When ppl choose not to adopt, and opt instead to buy, that's one less (healthy) dog that could have been spared from the kill list at a municipal shelter. A dog is not a 'product' that can be bought and sold, and then returned and dumped once it no longer pleases you; it's not a product that can be 'traded in' for a newer dog once it gets a little older. #Dogs (pets) require patience, education, and #commitment4life There are hundreds of rescues and individuals that try to save red listed animals every day, but there are too many.
