Starting what will hopefully be a bigger, multi media project. Goal is to build, paint, kit bash, sculpt, and write a bunch of home brew lore for a custom Blood Angel army. I hope to push myself and my skills (or even learn entirely new ones) along the way.

This model is my first serious attempt at non metallic metal (NMM). I’m happy with the gold - I thinks it’s readable and looks cool. It’s not realistic, I think that’s because I focused on colour and contrast but not realistic light placement. I’m less happy with the sword blade - I couldn’t get the light placement right and I’m not good at glazing so it became a blotchy mess. Eventually I went and redid it with an airbrush to get the transitions smooth enough.
