France Suspends iPhone 12 Sales Over Radiation Concerns

France has ordered Apple to halt the sale of the iPhone 12 in the country due to excessive emissions of electromagnetic radiation. ANFR has suggested to Apple that if the company cannot resolve this issue through a software update, then all iPhone 12 units sold in France should be recalled. Apple is reportedly challenging the decision of the French regulatory body. Apple has clarified that they have submitted all the test results from their labs and third-party teams to the agency, indicating that the device complies with all legal requirements. Jean-Noël Barrot, France's Digital Minister, stated in a newspaper interview that this decision was made because of the radiation emissions from the phone exceeding the determined limit. He mentioned that ANFR found the iPhone 12's Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) was higher than the legal limit.
