( i.e. all of elliott’s various relationships that have failed somehow, someway ). how is his ex doing by the way ── ? thirty years alive and he still doesn’t know what to make of it. he’s loved before, obviously knows what love is ; but true love ? he can’t even bluff and say he’s had that. plus most of the time it doesn’t work out for him. it could be because he has his own issues to work out : it’s not you, it’s me ! but that’s besides the point.  ❛ you really think so ? ❜  and there’s just this look upon his face that shows that little bit of doubt he has in her words because hello, he still wants to have some kind of hope ! wants to know if there’s a truth to whatever this true love that everyone else preaches about, maybe ── he just hasn’t met that special somebody !  ❛ i don’t know, i mean... i wouldn’t, you know, neces ── necessarily mind knowing what all the hype is about. ❜

Numbnuts! That’s what Mama used to call guys like that. You know the type. Big jokes, big trucks, big wallets…they need all that big to cover up what’s small. I got four brothers. The only punchline is you’re going home in a box.

…..Maybe Silva isn’t so bad. He’d take a bullet for anyone… mostly ‘cause he’s already fifty paces ahead, charging in with no game plan and even less strategy. Witt’s had my back more than once. And whatever, he’s gotten a chuckle out of me. Occasionally. Maybe they’re good. For morale, I mean. I mean… I just need them to stay out of my way.

and that’s fine ! who is he to judge ? in all honesty, the entire group of legends have some very questionable coping mechanisms ; himself included ! isn’t that what mirage is ── just one really elaborate ‘way of dealing’ ? just some kind of super complicated façade ; all a mix of jokes ( mostly self-deprecating ) that he has heavily relied on since... well, now that he thinks about it, it feels like forever. so much so that where elliott ends he doesn’t know where mirage begins. wow ! uh ── he should maybe address that... later !  ❛ here, a drink. ❜  because while he may not know what truly goes on with the ever so mysterious loba andrade, he still gets it.  ❛ on the house of course. ❜
