There was no such thing as luck, it was all just the matter of how you play your cards. Behind every game, there was a set of equations, coding and manipulation. You have to have a set strategy, and watch your dealer. As the dealer, you have to know how to fool people, so it’s a good thing that’s something Dazai knows best. How to play people. Seeing players go in and out of games, losing hundreds and thousands of dollars daily was sickly a pleasure to Dazai. It reminded him of old habits. Perhaps the was the real reason why he decided to work at the casino.
Tumblr media
Tonight he was set to deal out War. After a few hours of doing the same routine, seeing the same sad faces when they lose, finally there was a fresh face among the crowd. He turned and cocked an eyebrow at the woman’s tone. Who goes gambling not knowing what they’re doing? “Usually you’re supposed to know beforehand what you’re getting into. I do not advise you be naive about money.” Dazai warned. “Though, if you truly wish to indulge, I will oblige. Tonight’s game is War. Classic, easy to win, and easy to lose.”
Tumblr media
Smirking at the woman, he pulled out a new deck of cards. The other players seem to care less, to bothered with their own games. He fanned them out and shuffled them, and of course he couldn’t help himself. He leaned in a bit closer, and with a snap, a Queen of Hearts appeared in his hand. Magic tricks always impress. “Oh, trust me. I do not aim to disappoint a pretty face like yours. Let’s begin, shall we?”
Lena gave a yawn as she waited for a reply her attention shifting between multiple things before the words drew her back to the man before her, her look was a glare as if she knew something was coming, and there it was. Lena had been warned not to be naive with money and to this she gave a disgusted look, being treated as young as she looked was rather annoying, she was no child and knew the weight that money could hold to humans, but it mattered not to her, well it did a bit more now since she couldn’t just conjure up money from thin air anymore, but she knew her limits. Though as the man quickly moved to the explanation which was rather short and left much to the imagination, there was not much she could do besides play and attempt to copy and catch her dealer, she had in fact been here multiple times and was well aware of how things went by this point. She also knew that cute girls could possibly bring her drinks, which was a plus in a way, but none could compare to her vivid memory.
Tumblr media
“Humph.” Lena would a sound of disgust to the mans words, was it not obvious that she was a lady into the women of the night more than the men? Oh well dull dealers aside she was sure she could beat him out a few times and manage to win a small bit. What was that? A card appeared from thin air? Alteration magic? Perhaps a kind of creation magic or illusion? To think that a random dealer could possess such a magical power and not present any magical presence, she never really understood the concept of magic tricks. “I know well the weight of money in this world, but your human card games are not like that which i normally find myself playing, no the types i play are much more dangerous.” Lena would say before shifting again to inspect her dealer as if trying her best to sense any type of magic emitting from him, if he had none how could she explain the card like that? “Well i will hold you to that word and if i am disappointed i’m afraid you will regret it greatly for lying to me. Now deal the cards, at this point you are simply wasting my time, not that i much mind that the heat in here is superb to that my rooms heater can emit.”
Tumblr media
Lena waited and watched each movement taken into account, though to be honest her attention was more drw to the women than the cards in front of her often times finding herself looking them down until they left her line of sight, which thankfully was rather quickly thanks to the many people. Lena traced the edge of the table with one finger now, the other twirling a strand of hair against her finger making it wrap around, the rough looking hair flowed as if it was well taken care of. Unentertained eyes shifted to the dealer, then the cards, then the dealer, then a woman behind the dealer, then back to the cards, it was a repeated cycle for Lean, but no one interested her oddly enough, but that’s how it was ever since she got married. A yawn left her lips once again, normally by this point she would have been in bed with her wife, though without such a warmth with her trying to sleep was basically pointless, so she needed to push herself to pass out the moment she got home. Her voice of care, reason, and safety was not with her, there was nothing to calm her down if she got worked up, nothing to cheer her up her memories hit her hard, at this point without her wife Lena was a walking bomb of emotions ready to explode on anyone that ticked her off.

Unlikely friends
@lonelymemoir
The mall, a place where humans gathered to do something most enjoyed, shopping for themselves, Lena never understood why so many humans got a kick out of shopping in such a place. It was spacious, it had air conditioning like Lena had not experienced before making the place seem super chilly to her, and the people were so spread out that it was just annoying and the heat was being evenly dispersed, she wasn’t even allowed to smoke! Busying her mind with her homemade pocky placing the hard treat into her mouth and crushing it made quick work of her need to have both food and something busying her mouth, as to why she needs this is not be described. Lena explored gently brushing her hands up against the opposite arm in hopes of heating herself up, she eventually made her way from shop to shop eventually coming to an art store where she took a moment to look inside. Art had never really interested Lena, well it had but that was for entirely different reasons, right now what had interested her was the girl looking at the many varieties of art supplies.
Tumblr media
“That girl...” Lean took a moment to look over her unknowingly entering the art store and moving closer to the girl, yes that girl looked vaguely like her daughter and oddly enough this drew Lena to want to hug the girl, though thankfully she was able to resist...that would have been awkward. “Pardon me.” Lena would say to try and catch the girls attention, “your name? May i have the pleasure of knowing it?” Lena would ask before waiting a few moments before holding her hand up with her index finger in the air, “Ah yes right. I’m Lena Takumora it’s nice to meet you, I’m sorry for bothering you out of nowhere, but you looked like my daughter, i just couldn’t help myself.” Lena would say with a smile on her face and the pocky protruding from her lips, her red eyes centered on the girl in an attempt to make eye contact, completely forgetting that she, herself, looked as if she was nineteen. “So you’re interested in art?”
Tumblr media
“Never had a fondness for it myself, but it’s nice to see someone as young as you taking a interest in it. My wife talked about it from time to time, but she never really went into deep detail.” Lena would say turning to what the girl was looking at, as if an attempt to push past the awkwardness of comparing the girl, who didn’t look much younger than Lena, to her daughter who was in her original world. Nor would the girl know that Lena wasn’t human therefor having no idea of Lean’s real age would probably throw the girl off in a spiral of endless question if Lena didn’t busy the girls mind with a different subject. Perhaps she should be more careful, but it was better than calling the girl what she had originally thought of at first glace bland, uninteresting, generic, the first words to pop into Lena’s head were these. “Are you a good artist hun?” Lena would ask turning her attention to the girl once again, that urge was back, ges missing her daughter she brought some desires to Lena’s head, thankfully she had more control than a normal person would as well, for now anyways.

Security problems
@i-wont-bite
Lena let out an annoyed sigh, why had she decided to walk all of this way to get a damn drink? All of the other bars seemed to be filled with people that annoyed her hell maybe this one was less so. Lacking the ability to make portals made this world so much more annoying than her wasteland of a world, she would prefer and infinite grayscale over having to walk everywhere, honestly this was just so annoying, and to use magic to float would be using wind magic and she didn’t want to pick that annoying element. Carrying her Spellslingers keychain in hand she looked at it long and hard, how could a magic infused weapon undergo such a transformation against her will? It was if whatever had done this held a power even Lena did not. Giving a scoff to the idea Lena let her keychain fal back to her skirts side, it was useless contemplating such a thing when she was annoyed like she was breaking out a lighter she got she lit a cigaret placing it in her mouth before crushing the flimsy metal contraption and throwing it to the side. Lena breathed in with cigaret and let out a sigh that was filled with both foul smelling and sweet smelling smoke, though knowing most rules such a places wouldn’t allow a lit cigar around an alcoholic so she put it out before approaching the place.
Tumblr media
Presenting her ID, or most recent thing taken to an ID, and made her way inside, while moving she eyed the room, not a very good looking place, but some of the faces were pretty cute, but the people wasn’t what she was coming for. Lena sat down at the counter and simply just ordered the thing closest to wine popping a piece of candy in her mouth it was one of these pretzels with chocolate on them, only it was home made. Lena began to chew on that unit the drink was delivered to her, unlike some expected she quickly downed the drink and ordered another one now hearing someone approach her from behind and hearing a man speak to her, something about spending the night somewhere, she wasn’t really listening. But to giving no response Lena felt the man’s hand on her shoulder as she was gently shook and the pulled a bit, complying and standing up Lena quickly slapped the man’s hand away and jabbed her fist into his stomach. Using his stunned state she quickly forced his head to the counter into a stain that she had seen on it grabbing his wrist and putting it against her back pressing her full weight into the arm while she held the man there. “Sorry what was that fucker?!”
Tumblr media
“You say ‘Please break my arm’? Cause that’s what i’m gonna do if you don’t piss off!” Lena said untwisting her body and throwing the man to floor, on her face lay a smile as if she was enjoying it, wasn’t a good bar fight interesting now and then? Lena laughed at him knowing how easily she overpowered him, if she honestly wanted the initial jab could have blown through the skin, assuming the situation resolved Lena sat back down and waved to the bartender, until she was approached. Lena looked back to whom approached her and gave a little grin, “Oh security huh? Gonna throw me out? I didn’t hurt the idiot.” Lena then laughed taking the drink that had been prepared and sipped on it assuming it would probably be her last drink of the night before she was sent home. “Fucker doesn’t even have the decency to ask if i’m interested or not.” Lena shook her head if only he had known who he was really disturbing maybe he wouldn’t have gotten humiliated.

Playing with fate
@osamuwus
A breath unlike normal humans left her mouth leaving a slight hint of smoke in the air, but unlike her cigars it was a sweet smelling smoke, filling the area around her with a sweet smelling scent until she began to move. Extending her index finger up and making a small flame appear it was naught more than that a flimsy lighter could conjure up lighting the end of the white, self-destructive, chemical filled, human concoction, cigaret soon letting out a puff of foul smelling and more noticable smoke. She walked to the entry way with such in her mouth, Lena looked quiet annoyed, the crowds never pleased her senses, but the most crowded areas were usually the ones that had the most generating heat, so visits like this were quiet normal, perhaps someone inside could know her by now. Passing by the guards Lena slipped into the Royal Flush Casino and made her way to where she could get some chips exchanging a bit of her money for some to gamble a bit, not like she planed on winning, no her luck was too shit for that. Lena jostled a few in her hand liking the feeling and the noise the clinking chips created as she moved her way to the card tables, deciding to try one of the more human involved games rather than attempting to cheat a slot machine into paying her bills.
Tumblr media
As Lena sat down she seemed very uninterested as she looked over the other people at the table then looked to the person whom she assumed to be the dealer. Lena moved her arms to set her head against her hands with elbows pressed hard against the tables edge giving it a gentle shake as she set her head head in a resting position on her hands. Her eyes centered on the dealer and the card before him, she had heard of the games here before, but this one’s rules seemed to slip her mind which was a rare occasion for her. “You.” Lena would say glaring at the card dealing, “can you teach me to play?” Lena asked lifting her head, a noticeable shifting could be heard as she put one leg over the other to be a more comfertable position. “It’s been awhile since i’ve been able to play a game like this and i don’t exactly remember all of the rules nor what i should be looking for.” Lena sat there her presence giving off that of someone important, she sat with the grace of queen, but the looks of a commoner, and the care of a corpse.
Tumblr media
“Don’t take long, i lose interest quickly.” Lena did not lie her attention span for things that did not involve battle was not very long, she already seemed much less interested now than she had when she sat down. Her hair was rough, almost as if it had been ignored when getting ready to go somewhere, yet still it held an elegance in someway. She wore a red dress that rested softly against her knees as she sat there, the dress was plain it wasn’t even fancy, she held no interest in looking the part of her status. The cigaret in her mouth shifted as the smoke never left her lips, at this point it seemed like some kind of candy that was supposed to be burning at the end, the ashes fell lifeless with no heat to them whatsoever. In fact it seemed as if the cigaret was not even lit in the first place it still burned with the color emitting no smoke, no smell, it was a sight to the normal human for sure, but for Lena this was a normal trick she would do to entertain herself.

Though just like any other muse she’s one in a pool of many. Anyways! Like this post for a starter from Lena, the cap is four! I’ll start writing them right when i get my mood back
