So I’ve had Hibiki for a while now and over the months I’ve just had so much support/encouraging messages about him and the blog, it’s really made being here so much better than normal – especially because we actually have interactions. Having set out the day before from Blue Pegasus, Hibiki was proud to say that he was making even better time than he’d estimated initially, the trip to the mountains had of course been perfectly timed but the trek up it was far easier than he imagined. Half way to the coordinates the job had specified, however, he noticed a presence gaining on him and though, they never approached him or made him feel threatened, it was about time he figured out what exactly they wanted.

So, without further hesitation, he turned on his heel and made his way over to who he realised was a woman almost an entire foot shorter than him. Not wanting to appear threatening, considering he was a stranger in the mountains -- even though he was sure she’d been following him -- he gave her a soft smile and cleared his throat. He wanted to ask her what she was doing following him or what business she had in these mountains but those weren’t the words he chose to speak, it would be rude of him to ask the answer to questions he didn’t really have a right to be making.

“Excuse me, Miss? Do you require assistance of some kind?”

what does the mun think about other blogs having the same headcanons about the muse?

Well, that depends really...

I mean, with Hibiki for example, there are certain headcanons that are probably really obvious since they stem from what we see of him in canon. Things like his Magic, how he feels about particular characters, his general personality are all things that you can see in canon so odds are people are going to share the same opinion there and no one can really fault anyone else for that.

However, I know that with my Hibiki things like his home, sylvia, his pets, extensions of his Magic, his parents and history and certain aspects of his personality -- like the fact he doesn’t open up easily/uses his flamboyancy to deflect personal questions about him etc; -- are all things that are definitely not portrayed in the manga/anime so I view them as mine. In that case, I’m extremely protective over them because they’re specific to my portrayal, to copy them would be stealing so I will actually approach people if they copy them.

There can sometimes be very fine lines that rpers tread with their muses but the general things can get overlooked, so as an overall I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad things for RPers of the same muse to have similar headcanons for things we actually get to see in the story. I, however, do not in any way support people who literally just use anothers portrayal for inspiration and build off their headcanons because we put a lot of effort into our muses and to have that all that hard work stolen? It really hurts.

Plus a lot of us actually want to have a profession in writing so people really need to get out of the habit of stealing things from other people, because say someone stole my hard work for Hibiki and claimed them as their own? If Hibiki was my intellectual property from a book, not Mashima’s, I could quite literally sue that person... Obviously nothing here can lead to such drastic measures because Hibiki is ultimately Mashima’s but people really should just get into the habit of not taking other peoples ideas.

Stranger.

His question rang in her ears, and while initially she was surprised at his question, there was that sense of logic in the back of her mind that reminded her that he hadn’t actually done anything to wrong her, and that she didn’t actually know him, so why was she being so hostile? Then again, there was also that part in her mind that reminded her of her mothers experience with men like this, and it gnawed at her more than anything else. 

She backed up slightly, away from him. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes, and instead grasped books tightly to her chest, frowning at the man that stood in front of her. 

“Hibiki – right?” At least, that’s what she remembered from the magazines. “I don’t know almost anything about you. All I know is how sick I am of hearing women go on and on about you. It happens at least once a day, and you might have them believing what you tell them, but you can’t fool a woman who knows your type.” Blunt, but if he wanted honesty, that’s exactly what she would give him.

“Yes, that’s my name...”

Anger boling up because she had just admitted to knowing almost nothing about him and yet she had the audacity to judge him, purely because of the fact that women spoke about him? Clearly this woman had been hurt before, or had known someone who had been hurt or affected, by the man most people misjudged him to be but that did not make the offense he felt lessen.

“You’re correct, you do, in fact, know nothing of me. I’m sorry that you hear about me more than you’d care to, however, I am quite sure that you know nothing of my type either. I don’t mistreat women, I don’t disrespect them or lead them on, all I do is let them know my thoughts and ensure that while they are in my company, they enjoy themselves.

I spend time with them but I’ll have you know that I have never, not once, touched any of those women sexually. So, those rumors you hear of me being what they would call a ‘womanizer’? They’re the furthest thing from the truth. The next time you choose to judge someone, perhaps try getting to know them first.”

Taking a breath, before he said anything offensive to her -- which he had specifically avoided, not only to prove her wrong but because it just felt wrong to him to insult her -- he moved to get retrieve the book he’d been looking for and walked off to the cubicle he’d been working at ( that was covered in books ).

‘ Womanizer ’

Hibiki absolutely detests this title, not once has ever actually been a womanizer despite how he behaves because he was brought up differently to that, yes he has had girlfriend’s such as Karen and one or two women before that but it was never simply for sex and it was never meaningless to him. Hibiki adores women, he believes that every single woman, despite their age, should have it made known how beautiful they are and while yes he does take it to excessive levels in showing his appreciation of their beauty, what is shown is what most women who hang around him and Blue Pegasus want.

If Hibiki was not so used to behaving as he does, he would definitely be a lot less flamboyant when it came to ‘wooing’ a woman, he is an extremely mature man and he understands that not every woman wants him to behave how he does but he also finds it rather difficult to not behave like that unless he knows them personally.

So yes, he does behave like a womanizer but his behaviour does not reflect his values and it does not reflect his personal life. Hibiki is a gentleman, he will never lead on a woman for sex, he will never date more than one woman at a time and if he does get in a relationship then it is with the goal to end up with a love like his mother and father had.
