good morning everyone! both our development challenges are officially closed to new submissions. the points have been tallied and the winners officially announced via our discord. we thank everyone for their participation and once more, we are so excited to meet every single one of your characters!  now our preview this morning is all about our applications , that first major step in getting your character onto the board. we have three (3) different styles of application available on our site depending upon how much information you want to provide on your character.  app style one is your very basic shipper app. it has your standard shipper sections and requests only a short character blurb with no tabs and no space for a freestyle. it is for those styles of roleplayers who want only to put the bare bones onto their characters and then develop them further as the roleplay progresses. you can see app style one previewed in the screenshot of hwan g reed , if you’re interested in completing that application you can find the code to begin filling it out right here!! your graphics component: you will need either a 126 px by 126 px moving gif or still image.  app style two uses the same base code behind app style one, however the short character blurb is replaced by a secondary tab for a full freestyle or timeline that you may write or your character with the option of dividing it up with various different headers. this app is best suited to those that want a developed character that prefer an app where most all your information is located in one place. if you’re interested in completing that application, you can find the code to begin filling it out right here!!  your graphics component: you will need either a 126 px by 126 px moving gif or still image app style three is a four tabbed app with space to write beefy shipper sections and a long freestyle or timeline. it definitely offers the most room for those lengthy writers that have well developed characters that they have to get down onto paper. it also offers the opportunity to showcase two images instead of just the one, with the front tab being a large image of your character! if you are interested in completing that application, you can find the code to begin filling it out right here!!  your graphics component: you will need two (2) images, one 300 px by 300 px and one 100 px by 100 px. they can be either moving gifs or still images.  a reminder about graphics within apps, as our members can use the site while at work we ask that you keep applications / avatars safe for work and refrain from using shirtless pictures / pictures of faces in their undies. while we acknowledge they are very very goodlooking, this is best saved for someplace like social media or threading.  as a final reminder, the site opens officially on july 24th at 6PM EST. you have until tonight at 11:59PM EST to get in any face reserves you may have earned for an introductory post, either o the development challenges, or general reserves. any reserves you make as a part of buzz will allot you seven (7) days to complete the application before losing the reserve. any faces claimed once the site has open will be subject to regular site rules.  thank you for all your hard work everyone. it is almost site opening time and we are so excited to share our world with you.

ANIKA JAHAN // ROMANTIC INTEREST 25+ – Open face So Anika has had a horrible strand of shitty relationships. She is a loving, giving person, but doesn’t always realize when she’s giving more than her significant other. She’s never been the best judge of character and tends to find the best in people. Her siblings have probably chased away more than one guy to protect her heart and energy from going to the wrong people. Enter…this guy. We’ll call him John. John can work for her father’s law firm as an administrative assistant/receptionist/intern – basically something that is rendered invisible to the majority of the partners that work there. OR any job that her parents would love to look down on because they’re snobs. But Anika notices him. She feels bad that he has to put up with her father and his partners at the firm, so she’ll sometimes bring him coffee or something to cheer him up. He’s cute and of course she’ll shamelessly flirt while he’s working but mostly to fluster him, not get him in trouble. Anyway, long story short they eventually express that they have a crush on one another. He’s the first guy she’s been with who genuinely seems to care about her, and doesn’t have any interest in her money. In fact, he does things for her no one else ever has. The only problem? Her father. Her family. He’s not in the same financial bracket that they’re in and they make it feel like their kids are forbidden to have a relationship that doesn’t suit their appearance. Anika, obviously, doesn’t care about any sort of financial difference, but she also doesn’t want to risk his job and neither does he. Cue sneaking around behind the family’s back, keeping their relationship a secret from her siblings, acting like ‘just friends’ when she comes into the office to see her dad, maybe even some doubt that it’ll work out because of the potential backlash. I just want the feels and the forbidden-ish vibe and someone to actually care about Anika for who she actually is and someone who will let her dote on them and asjdflksdjfsd. Please gimme. ANIKA JAHAN // FAMILY

So I’m looking for the Jahan siblings! There are three total, and I have a few ideas for each one. As for background there’s a few things to know! Keep in mind basic history is non-negotiable but everything else can be up for interpretation! HMU on discord if you’re interested. pola#8381

The kids have lived in Orlando their entire lives. Their parents came over from Bangladesh.

The family is very wealthy. Between old family inheritances and their parents’ jobs, they are practically set for life. 

Father is a lawyer and mother is a surgeon.

Mo’ money, mo’ problems. There’s dysfunction within the family dynamic. Their parents were more focused on careers than their kids, and thought the money would compensate for it. How they handled this while growing up is entirely up to you!

Careers, sexuality, faces (same ethnicity as mishti please), overall personalities, etc. are all open for interpretation! 

Anything below are merely SUGGESTIONS to encourage the difference in their personalities. Anything deeper is open ended and all of this can be expounded on.

First Jahan – 30+ – sister – open // oldest sibling, head on her shoulders, probably career driven, clashes with anika because of their difference in personality and how they handle life, they still come together for one another when it’s needed most. Second Jahan – 25 - 27 – brother/sister – open // third child, possibly the rebel and trouble maker, gets along best with anika out of the three siblings because they’re more alike in how they live and spend their money.

Third Jahan – 22 - 24 – brother/sister – open // baby of the family, spoiled because their parents had a bit more time to dote on them than the other three since they were getting older, relationship with anika could be neutral, or they bond.

“Dearest Embry, This is kinda weird, writing a letter to myself, but Mrs Carlton says I have to. You remember her, right? Old age hasn’t muddied your mind too bad, has it? Last night mother informed father of her infidelity. I expected father to kick her out right then and there, but he says he loves her and can’t do that. I don’t understand, maybe you do now that we’re older? Father says you don’t give up on the ones you love, but love isn’t one sided, you know? Love can’t mean just ignoring cheating! Ugh my skin crawls just thinking about it! I can’t believe she would ever do something so vile! You better not have forgiven her either, Older me! Jessie and Ginny both say it’s not a big deal, but I think it is. Mother just threw everything into the fire and dusted her hands off! What kind of mother does that? Whatever though, I guess, not like she has ever been the best mom or anything. Father will come to his senses soon, I hope, and just kick her out and move on.  Anyways, what’s it like in our life now? How much has changed? Are we married with babies yet? Did we finally tell Father we were going to college, his opinion be damned? We better have done Marine Sciences like I want! The Ocean seems to be the only safe space anymore.  I hope you still love the ocean. The feel, the taste, the sound – the ocean is home above all us, never forget that, okay Older Embry? The bell is about to ring… I waited until the last minute to finish this, do you remember? Mrs Carlton has been giving us the stink eye since half way through the assignment haha.
