OH BOY…. my first thoughts after finishing season 2, all i can even think about right now is suho. the whole season i felt his presence there especially with how sieun never let go and always showed up.

after him being in a coma for over a year i truly wasn’t expecting anything (especially since it looked like they used a double for all the hospital shots) (and i thought the beomseok cameo was all we were getting)

let me just say… when sieun started running after the phone call i knew. and i started crying immediately. i have a lot of thoughts about his eunjang friends running with him but that’s for another time (but i love them so dearly) BUT!!

the way when fucking choi hyunwook showed his face, something in me released and healed. i sobbed, my body SHOOK with my cries of relief, i don’t know when another show made me so emotionally invested i felt that my own best friend had been in a coma and just woke up. like damn these characters aren’t real!!!!!

but fr after watching season 1 it affected me so so much i couldn’t stop thinking about sieun and suho for weeks, and i rewatched it of course prior to the season 2 release which just opened old wounds. but wow i’m so so glad they saved him, i am so so happy i literally cried tears of relief

Like man I do love a good romance like Live Up To Your Name or Tell Me That You Love Me but I just. I haven’t seen any show with more love in it than Twinkling Watermelon. Like yes there’s romance. There’s two wonderful couples! But there’s also love between a father and a son. And a mother and son. Between best friends. Between members of a band. Between brothers. Between a grandmother and her grandson. And then her great-grandson. Two teenagers falling in love and healing. A couple that have been together for nearly three decades and are still completely in love and in tune with each other. A divorced woman who still thinks back on her early days with her husband with softness and affection. A mother and a daughter. A mentor and a mentee. A group of boys excitedly welcoming their friend’s new girlfriend into their group and learning sign language for her. Even in the face of terrible people full of hate, this show is filled to the brim with every sort of love. And that love is what saves them.

one thing about eun gyul is that he truly deeply loves his family and i love how he never once falters in his character. i love how the main real relationship in this drama is between him and his dad yichan. at the end of the day he got to meet his shining dad’s youth and have that unbreakable friendship after feeling lonely for such a long time
