You know, given that Mandalorians
Don’t care about gender
Are big on adoption
Implied to view attraction through the lense of character
they probably don’t view courting/dating through a gender/sexuality spectrum. Mandalorians probably view courting/dating through a romantic spectrum instead. They probably have words for someone who is aromantic to someone who has multiple loves.

An example of Contradictions
Fandom: Everyone who was a Mandalorian was a Warrior! Even if they didn't practice it full time! No Exceptions ! Me: Oh, cool! So the Mandalorian Warriors are no longer an elite minority? So we can add more of Satine being supported by fellow warriors even more! And this is even better to support the fact that Satine didn't ban armour since the Protectors have it along with Almec and the Guard, mando'a since we see it written all over and even hear Satine speak it or even fighting since we can see the cadets fighting and we can even tell that she was well liked since Death Watch was less than one percent of Mandalore's population and had to get help from outside the sector to take over- Fandom: No! Satine is not a Mandalorian! She banned EVERYTHING traditional and was oppressing the warriors (who we imply are a minority) along with her idiot coloniser "New Mandalorians"! They are outsiders that took over when Mandalore and the Mandalorians were recovering from the civil war! Me: But you just said- What do you mean that they aren't Mandalorians??? Fandom: They are from Kalevala! They aren't from Mandalore! They are outsiders! Me: sINCE WHEN IS NOT KALEVALA IN THE MANDALORIAN SPACE AND SECTOR, LET ALONE IN THE SYSTEM?????? And what does their place of birth matter anyways???? I thought that Mandalorians don't care about that???? What, are Sabine, Jango and Din no longer mandalorians? Fandom: No!!!! They are Mandalorians, doesn't matter where they were born!!!! Me: But you just said-

the line that Amec has about how the 'warriors died out' makes a bit more sense if you assume 2 things and know two thing:
He is exaggerating
He is trying to stop the Republic from declaring war on Mandalore
One fact file about Mandalore says that, after being exiled to Concordia (aka the planet with important cultural standing AND that wasn't that damaging), said that the Traditionalists/Exiled Warriors started fighting each other for dominance. After a war that turned the planet into a toxic desert and killed the majority of the Mandalorians, to the point where irl countries have more people than Mandalore, a Planet
Another fact file - one about the Gauntlet - literally refers to Death Watch, who are the traditionalists that Pre regrouped under his leadership post all the battles that occurred in Concordia, as a warrior cult
yeah.
Yeah I can't blame him for that line lol

Satine Kryze was right about everything. We’ll have a real-world, front-row seat to observe just how right she was.
Pray for peace. Fight for peace.

Mando gender-fuckery but Harswee edition, where what we consider “feminine” for them is the peak of gender neutrality
Is this a man? A woman? Something else entirely? Who knows, it’s safer to not ask

Some Star Wars "fan" about to write another fic about how Jedi should just give up on their culture and beliefs (i.e. slowly be stripped of them) so that they can assimilate into mandalorian society (y'know the people that have historically always sided with their oppressors) because that will make them happier and more fulfilled:
Tumblr media
Okay jokes aside (please take this meme with a laugh and a grain of salt) but I want to talk about Mandalorian x Jedi pairings and how authors write them.
A rant about Jedi-Mandalorian Pairings, Anti-Jedi attitudes, and how prevelent it is.
So, you might be thinking, "If you don't like it, don't read it", now I do agree with that stance. However, when the author either doesn't tag the fic as having Anti-Jedi sentiments or as being Jedi critical or just doesn't realize that's what they are portraying, it's kinda impossible to do so. It just kinda creeps up on you mid fic.
I am an avid Jedi-Mandalorian pairing reader. I love seeing how Jedi and Mandalorian culture and societies come together. It just seems that many authors think that it is a one-way street where the Jedi in the relationship has to completely integrate and learn Mandalorian customs and the Mandalorian gets to be willingly ignorant to Jedi culture.
I hate coming across this trope of "Jedi that follows the Resol'nare, might or might not be married to a Mandalorian, and is still ostracized for being an aruetii, until they give up their Jedi ways"
It feels icky.
Reading what is essentially a interracial/intercultural relationship and one partner be put down for doing what their culture does is weird. It gets even weirder when the author starts going down the assimilation route. (Clarification: I am talking solely about fics where the author doesn't tag or put a warning that there are these themes in said fic. I am not talking about fics where that is blatantly the focal point)
If I have to see something alone the lines of "maybe the order died for a reason" again I'm going ballistic. What could you possibly mean by that.
Ah yes, because the babies and younglings that got murdered in the creche sooo deserved to die. Or the members of the Agriculture Corps, Medical Corps, Education Corps, and the Exploration Corps, who aren't even overseen by the Jedi High Council but the Council of Reassignment, also deserved to die.
Like I'm starting to think that y'all just don't like the Jedi characters you write about. If that is the cause THAT'S FINE JUST FUCKING TAG IT.
I would like to believe that most of these authors don't have any ill intent when writing like this, but there's definintely a vibe going on. It's just so infuriating because Jedi and Mandalorian cultures could mesh together, or at the very least closely co-exist, really well. They are like two sides to the same coin. So it makes no fucking sense (and is very harmful) to have this way of thinking if you genuinely like these pairings and think they could work.
Afterall isn't that one of the main appeals of these pairings?
Tl;Dr: Many authors write fics in which the Jedi in a Jedi-Mandalorian pairing is either condemned for being a Jedi or has to give up their faith and beliefs, but they don't tag the fic as being anti-Jedi.

do you think there ever was a mandalorian who, after a hunt gone bad, suddenly wakes up in a gigantic farmstead, surrounded by scantily clad (by mando standards), impossibly capable people of all ages, species and sexual persuasions and thinks "oh no, I died and this is heaven"
and all the AgriCorps jedi around them have to try their very best to not break down laughing

"Ahahah look, the clones adopted children because of Jango's Mando genes-"
NO! The clones do this because they decided to be good fucking people!
Kindness is not genetic and it sure is not hereditary, they decided to be good even if their whole life they were taught the opposite.
They decided that instead of using their hands for the violence they were created for:
They wanted to use them to wipe away the tears,
To keep others to safety,
To cup their cheeks and whisper words of comfort,
To hold them until the nightmares went away,
To be kind to others despite what their training told them.
And they learned all this on their own, while their "father" looked at them as nothing more than cannon fodder and didn't even blink twice at the idea of them dying in a worthless war.
In this essay I will-

I went a little off the rails for a power-point-party, so I thought I'd share. Don't come at me about canonicity. Also yes, I spent hours using illustrator to make pose-able vector mando'ade.
Review from my friend: "I feel like I actually learned something?"
